Hi all,

here comes a question of a very new newbie:

I have an Nokia E61 and want to run TomTom on it. I installed the programm(downloaded from here) and also the maps - both works fine.

BUT:
I do not understand the technique behind it. The program and the maps run perfectly - but i'm not connected to a gps-client. So my question is: after a succesfull installation, what do I have to do to connect and get the thing running? Do I have to connect directly to tomtom-online? Do I have to pay for that? Can they even see, that I'm running a "cracked"-version?

Questions, questions and questions. Sure someone can help me..

Thanks so much!
D.

Specs:
Nokia E61
TomTom Navigator 6.010 (7640)
GPS-Driver v1.20
Map: "tomtom" v562.0
ANCAE D2RE6

No - you need to get a bluetooth GPS receiver - a quick search in google will give you loads of results & info.

Yes - the gps receiver will give your current location - no other costs once you have bought the receiver :D.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and have been reading a lot of materials regarding GPS for the last two days.

I have E61 with the latest firmware. I wanna install Tomtom with Third party BT GPS receiver. Is that possible? Which Tomtom software version is supported with E61? and which GPS receiver is recommended?

I'm currently looking at these three:
OnCourse Bluetooth GPS Receiver Edition 2 (WAAS enabled)

or
Holux GPSlim 240 Wireless Bluetooth GPS Receiver

or
OnCourse SiRF Star III Bluetooth GPS Receiver

Thanks in advance!

The soft will work with all of the above receivers just make sure you get one that is sirf III and the software will set up the connection for you, the sirf III is not essential for it to work but gives better reception.
