View Full Version : HARDISK PARTION problem

Hi members ,

I hope i am posting in right thread .

I having problem with my hardisk its samsung 80 GB n with 5 partions of fat 32.My problem is some how my operating drive I.e C is not working so i need to format that ,but the problem is that when i try to install OS on my hard drive it shows only one partion N all my Imp data is on other partions. When i tried to connect my hard drive as primary master or slave or secondary master or slave in other system it shows only one partion of my hardisk and ask if u want to format it when i double click the same . The bottom line is I am not able to view my partions .

I just want to get data from my partions .

Does any one has software which can show my partions N recover my data before doing Fdisk .

Try using scandisk. if this can't help, u can try using partition table recovery to recover ur partition.

thanks for the reply dude .

I tried scandisk but of no use . Can u help me with the software that recovers partions (full ver) . Or can u provide any link so that i can download the same .

U can try hiren's boot co mate. at that pack u can find a lot of hdd tools. u can download at HERE ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).

The best is u connect it to a external drive case, then browse it using a windows me pc, then u should see all your partition..

if you have only one partition left then try checking its capacity. maybe you had it all formatted and became a single drive.

If not, try to use partition magic 8 (search in google for downloads) it unhides hidden partition. It works that way in XP.

If you accidentally formatted it all.... it means nothing will be there even if u unhide the drive.............. then you need "File Recovery Pro" - search in google for this software. It recover files even if the harddisk was formatted -and it takes a lot of time to recover those. try to figure it out for yourself.

One more question: how it's formated ?
