Please help about Hard Drive i got new HD that i want to use for my own storage but how can i make it not accessible to other desktop users so im the only one that can use it open save delete freely but the other users cant access it or cant open that disk ex: C: is my default HD & D: is my 2nd HD but im just using it for storage but dont want it to be accesed by any other users but me...please help!Thanx

BTW the other users im talkin about have user/power users account...

Though it is troublesome, carry out diskmgmt.msc when you leave a seat, and there is a method to delete a drive letter.
But a person knowing a lot about a PC may notice the trick.

Thanx for the reply mate appreciate it! I think i found solution for it i think its simple on feature of XP called "Ownership and permissions" that i can delete all the users of folders and only me i can access it on security tab of the folder properties anywayz thanx for your reply mate!rep for you for a helping hand!;)

BTW mods you can locked this thread now or trash it...

icetger, great to heard that u found yr solution.. The other option i think is make yr 2nd hdd as external hd. Then u only connect it when u want to use..

On properties security tab, but first you have to uncheck the "use file sharing(recommended)" on folder options view tab to make it appear ,, now you can select the users that can access it if you are a administrator or your the one created that folder!

there is an app posted on the forum... the name is folder lock... u can download it and once u have installed it, u can put a password on the drive and it can then be only accessible by u when u put in the password...
