i got this version on 21/12/2006, try on flashing n70 no working (maybe installation problem)

but this version really weird... cos when you connect you bb5, normally it will show the version (like 5300 v3.93) after select product code

but it only show version:0 (not the actual version)

i've try on 6680,5300,n70... still same...

for the safest flashing use this thread [Only registered and activated users can see links]

20% only succeeded using phoenix to flash BB5 phones, im one who succeeded on flashing 6630 and 6680 but not with my n70.

but i used dead phone flashing for my n70 and had successfully brought my n70 to life but with some errors and bugs so i have update it again using the above given link.

thanks for the reply, i know this procedur, but in nsu there aren't new version of nokia 6630, i have 6.03.08 and i can't upgrade to 6.03.40...
i tryed to do dead phone flashing, but the program give me error.
the cause, i think, is the fw package (rm-1 6.03.40 pack v. 2.xx) when the phoenix request v3.56 or later (n70 last package has got 3.56 or later)
do you think is that the problem?
can i download this wersion of pakage?(3.56 or later)
@nsu: i think is more dangerous flash with nsu that phoenix, beacose i have flashed 8 phone with phoenix ( all ok!) and, some my friends who have flashed with nsu, now they have got a dead phone...
i want to flash their dead phone, but can't...
sorry grammatical error again...

maybe in your case phoenix gave you a possitive good performance in flashing. same here but with two units only my 6630 and 6680. i tried on my n70 but i failed to complete the reprogramming... so i advice do not use phoenix on flashing n70...

why you guys say that phoenix sucks with updating procedures?

i've done 30+ fw updates so far, and all of them were succesful!

on the other hand, i hate NSU. had to try 2 updates with that, and both had given errors! (luckily phones were still working...)

i definitely prefere phoenix...

many new models are BB5 now

if you use phoenix for BB5 s40 phones normally done within 10 mins and i never got problem with this (5300,5200,6125,6233,6280,6288,6151...)

for BB5 s60 like N70 not stable with phoenix... sometimes will stuck... so i've to use flashing box

If use NSU much safe... but very slow... cos it need download firmware first before update the phones. i update n70 with nsu use about 30 mins

i am not "claiming", i've just given my opinion that so far, for me, phoenix is more reliable than NSU.

unluckily, i don't know how to flash a dead phone, i'm reading and reading guides concerning this problem.

as far as I will know something sure, you guys will be informed.

Dude I tried everything possible but nothing worked. Finally I picked up a Jaf Box and that did the job. Its amazing. Its so user friendly too.. My dead phone came back to life. I just love My Jaf Box. Try it out. The other option is to goto a nokia service center with an innocent face and sobby eyes and tell them that it just went dead while using it. They will fix it and give it to you. :)

Hello everybody.

I just want to tell everybody that if we always have some problem with phoenix (example: USB error when trying dead phone usb flashing) it's cause we are using a veeery old crack.

The problem is phoenix_framework.dll (and maybe dk2win32.dll too...)
The phoenix.exe is not a problem i've cracked it succesfully it's easy, but the new phoenix_framework.dll is really too different from the one from the old crack. Just imagine that the cracked file comes from 2004 and it 865Kb ..the last one is 1,2Mb......
I've tryed wih W32Dasm but it's hard for me, i'm not a proof cracker.
Can anybody try that?
Anybody knows who did the crack?

Bye bye,,,

Yeah. Would be great if someone could provide a new crack for the new Phoenix versions!!! I also tried to crack it but I didn't succeeded...

phoenix.exe: no problem (see below) // but: the framework.dll: could crack it :-(

402567 40 inc eax --> set eax to 1
402568 90 nop --> no operation
402569 756D jne 004025D8 --> jump to "dongle installed" if not equal --> OK

So... first of all to avoid useless questions - this is for the owners of the following models:

3250, 6131, 6133, 6125, 6126, 6270, 6280, 6282, 6288, 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682, 7370, E60, E61, N70, N70, N72, N73, N80, N90, N91, N92, N95

Any OTHER NOKIA model is NOT SUPPORTED, please do not post comments regarding other phone types!

This tutorial explains how to upgrade your Nokia BB5 with the latest firmware. You will need a USB cable (DKU-2/DKE-2/CA-53 . . .) and the software “PHOENIX Service” by Nokia! (No dongle to buy!!!)

This method proved successful by flashing one Nokia 6680 ORANGE and another one branded SFR, and also on other hundreds of BB5 phones, like 6630 Nokia original firmware version, 6280, N70, N90, N80. . .
However, we cannot be hold responsible for the damages you can do by making a wrong handle, and losing your warranty!

BEFORE BEGINNING!

- Save all the data from your phone (on your memory card or on PC)
- Remove your memory card and your SIM card
- Fully charges your phone’s battery
- Uninstall Nokia connectivity cable driver / Nokia connectivity solution from your PC!
- Uninstall Diego and Phoenix if you have them on your PC (think to delete manually from « program files » the files that might persist after the uninstall, and even clean tour registries if you still have problems with CCleaner) then reboot

what you need:

- the following software:

Otherwise use those rapidshare links:
***Diego 3.07:
ht**p://rapidshare.com/files/13730837/Nokia_20Diego_203.07_20Sp2.msi.zip
***Phoenix 2004:
h**p://rapidshare.com/files/13734918/phoenix_service_sw_2004_39_7_70.zip

***Phoenix 2006.34.2.156:
h**p://rapidshare.com/files/9415514/toxiconline.rar

password- toxiconline.com

1 -
2 - +
3 - +

- The firmware of your phone. (Check the file ‘last firmware’ for the latest versions of your bb5 phone at the date of appearance of this tutorial)

- The DKU-2 cable and the phone, of course.

Some of these files are archived on volumes. Unpack them all in the same folder and you will finally get the file you want. For Phoenix 2004, do “Save as” in order to download it, and change it in “.EXE”.

Step N° 1 - INSTALL DIEGO

- Run and install the following file: Nokia Diego 3.07 Sp2.msi

- If you get an error during the installation, it’s because you didn’t uninstall the Nokia connectivity cable driver!

Step N° 2 - INSTALL PHOENIX SERVICE 2004 WITH THE CRACK

- Open the crack first. Just open it, don’t run it now!

- Start installing phoenix 2004. During the installation you’ll get an error message.

- Press on “Retry” and run the crack immediately after! (Check that the destination folder is Windows/system32).

If you’re not fast enough, the message will reappear and you’ll have to re-run the crack the same way as above (but faster…)

- You’ll get 2 error messages, just press OK, and then Finish.

- You successfully installed phoenix service 2004.

Restart your PC.

Step N° 3 - INSTALL PHOENIX 2006

You have the shortcut for Phoenix on your desktop. Run it, and you might get several times the message "dskey not found!”. This is normal, just press « ok », and eventually Phoenix should open.

- Don’t close the program. You must only minimize the window.

- Run phoenix_service_sw_2006_20_9_148.exe. You shouldn’t have any error!

- Make sure you don’t restart the PC at the end of the installation. Just choose "restart my PC later" and then Finish.

Now you can close the window of Phoenix that you have minimized.

Restart your PC.If you have any error messages, just press « Cancel ». After you restart, you will see a dialog that asks for a dongle, just like the one in the Phoenix 2004 setup. Use the Phoenix 2004 crack again to pass it. (Use Ctrl+Alt+Del -> Applications -> New Task -> Search to run the crack, if the desktop doesn't show yet).

Run the crack of Phoenix 2006. (Check that the destination folder is Program files/Nokia/phoenix)

You can now run Phoenix 2006. If asked for login, just enter some crap.

Step N° 4 – INSTALL THE CABLE

it is advisable to close the applications you don’t need during the flashing (like antivirus, anti-spy ware etc).

Connect your USB cable (DKU2 or another) to the PC, and connect your started phone.

Wait for Windows XP to install all the drivers (it’s better to not have unknown hardware devices), and then don’t touch your phone anymore because the cable doesn’t hang on very well and it might disconnect!

Now you have to execute these steps in phoenix:

File / Manage connection / New/ select USB / press Finish / Apply and Close.

Normally your phone will be identify if not Scan Product" from the File menu Go to menu file /scan procduct

Step N° 5 - FLASHING THE PHONE

- Put the firmware folder on your desktop. (e.g. RM36 for a Nokia 6680)

It should contain 2 files (this might vary depending on your phone model and download source):
One (MCU) with the .COR extension and the other one (PPM) with the .V30 extension.

- Do the following in phoenix: Flashing / sw update
you should see the name of the firmware folder (like RM36) on the top of the phoenix window. If you can see it, you’re on the good way.

- On the first line (Image File), browse for your file that ends by .COR.
- On the second line (PPM File), browse for your file that ends by .V30.

Press START and don’t touch your phone anymore.

Wait for a message!

Phoenix will tell you to press the ON key of your phone and OK on the Phoenix software!

Firmware upgrade was done!
