Best and easiest way is to use a key logger to log a user name and password for you.

the name of the software is Home Keylgger .i think it's free.i used this software and i found it usefull to get the password.it save all the word that being key-in in the pc thru keyboard.all you have to do update the database and trace the posible password..hope this can help..

password on a LAN? most probably he is asking about wifi? if so, you need kismet and airsnort, etc.... on linux.... preferrably on two laptops/pc.
