HOLY CRAP!! I want this app now! Is there a way to self sign the file and make it work? This is the most important app for my N73 at the moment.... I was blown away when I saw the video. An app on the phone itself to rotate the screen is something I've wanted a long time.

well it works fine on my N73 and installed like a charm and works!! try to deactivate the options of installing portected files in Application Manager .. if not I don't know recheck the sign process again.

Signed successfully and insalled OK on E61 but don't work. Landscape and portait mode is a same. Program forum (forummobiles.com) in french but my native language is russian. Some words about E61 compatibility are present on this forum but i don't understand nothing. Any ideas?

As far as I can say from the System files I looked thorugh, there are two screen modes for S60v3 and actually u should be able to change them or make the vertical mode default by some firmware hacks.

How exactly does your app work, can you explain it please?

So I still get the same error when trying to sign the version posted by Franz81.

Now I've tried to use the file posted by tommy and I get the error "Unable to Install. Constrained by the certificate." I've also sign plenty of apps with no problems so this is weird. I'm reading about the error on forum nokia but haven't found anything that helps yet. Thanks for your input though. :)

Tried one N91. Succeeded in signing it but the landscape function, like 3250. not working. I guess is because 176x208 the phones not built for landscape. - this one i anyhow say one. hais

You need to put the signed file on your memory card and install the program trought your phone (with the normal file manager).The installation directly from PC doesn't work...

Signed this application and works fine in N80ie. but standby icons have decreased to 4 instead of 6.
Problem exists only for those applications which does not support landscape mode.

On N73 my standby icons have increase to 7 on landscape it is awesome, now i have to learn how to get use the sideway keys, the button looks funny now.

Just a thought. Does this means we can install E61 themes (320X240) on our N73. The regular N73 themes look crap in landscape mode. Any idea ???

after installing it on 3250, transfered directly to memory card, installed both by the file manager and y-browser, both on memory card and phone memory.
the instalation works, but the app did'nt do anything when i press landscape or potrait. what happened?

I have downloaded the certificate, It says Jaideep.htm, done everything including renaming at auto_signsis.bat, a window opens and closes, I have no idea where the file is saved, pls can someone help me

Did all what you said, even the dos window opens and closes, but then nothing, no file is created
PS: I am getting an error as "could not verify signature with known algorithm, exiting. encryption error, not a DSA certificate"

no, there cannot be one, this is in fact accessing a system function.. that means that the system has to be capable of doing this and allow a java app to access it (it needs to have this available in the java api)

in landscape mode the phone ram decrease so faster and i need to restart to get my full ram (about 18 Mo free in my n80ie with taskman)

O.K. guys, did some test. As stated, E61 themes can be installed. But games and apps design for 240X320 cannot be played in landscape mode, not fullscreen anyway. AND more important, E61 games can be played on the N73 in landscape mode in fullscreen. Have test leilani sexy golf for E61 and its great. So go to the E61 section and download those games that best played in landscape. Have fun ....

k...i have succesfully installed this application but now i cant install other .sis file...when i installing other .sis file the system will pop up Expired Certificate or maybe Certificate Error... is there any1 know to solve tis problem? thx

The gallery in N80 is in landscape mode and it also takes about 3MB. So this is normal that landscape mode takes RAM. Rotateme is very usefull app when you browsing the internet or play games :supz:

htm file is the certificate file!!! replace xxxx.cer with xxx.htm and it will work!!!

Ok after so many trials and errors, I finally managed to create a Certificate file and downloaded a "Certificate from SymbianSigned file"

But I'm stuck on the last signing step:

14) Signing The File
Go to "Start" -> "Run" -> type command
In the command prompt, type (cd c:\rotateme) enter.

A black widow appears/ then I type c:\rotateme then press enter
I then typed signsis -o -s -v rotateme_unsigned.sis rotateme.sis rotateme.cer rotateme.key devil then press enter
I then closed the black window
But there's no new sis file in my rotateme folder

What am I missing here???

Please note:

Depending the case (bat/method/etc), there is NOT always new file. The original file will be signed. You can see that when file's date and time are changed.

all the names of the files must be exactly the same obviously or else it will not "see" them to build the signed file.
the rotateme.key why does it have this name? did you rename it?

also, you must not change the name of the unsigned file, leave it as it was when you downloaded it ;)

I don't know how, but i did it! It works fine.

Finally, I also did it!!! It looks great! I just wish that it can remain on portrait on standby mode screen. It's a lil bit awkward to work with. But it's great!!

Awesome app!! Works perfect on N73, I can play games with Vsun in 320x240 mode, view the menu, messages and calender in landscape and it has no problems with displaying 3rd party apps. Thanks for sharing! :D

Application signed with your own IMEI will not work for other phone......unless you signed it with other IMEI, signing process is not complicated cause many member here get through it just first try just follow the previous page for signing process and application (i did post). If you still have difficulty send me your IMEI and the file you want to sign.

Depends on the phone you use...

The resolution of N73 is 240x320 and when u r using in landscape mode then it shud be 320x240 simple...... further more u can use themes of Nokia E61 which has the same resolution 320x240 on ur device......

It works fine..it is a reallifesaver when u are reading e-books..also contolling is easy only the same controls as u do in portrait mode just the diff is u have to turn it and see..controls=same portrait mode just ur head tilted..lol...if u have the controls byheart then easy to use..but just forget playing games and typing sms in this mode lol..thank you lovingUcbog for signing it 4 me..

Ok guys try this.....

follow this after getting the security certificate from symbian signed website!

1) Make sure u have these files auto_signsis.exe, security certificate, rotateme_unsigned.sis, sultan.key and signsis.exe

2) Place/copy these 5 files to a new folder (u can place it anywhere, it is not neccessary to place it in c:/)

3) Open auto_signsis.bat in notepad, it will look like this...


signsis rotateme_unsigned.sis rotateme.sis rotateme.cer sultan.key 0123456

4) Now dont get confused, rotateme_unsigned.sis is the sis file u placed and rotateme.sis will be the file to be generated (u can rename it to anything, but make sure not to forget .sis extension)

5) Save it ( dont click 'save as' )

6) Double click on auto_signedsis.exe file

7) A new file rotateme.sis will be generated.....

tats it send it to ur phone, install n enjoy....

*Note: unsigned file is abt 18KB and signed file will be 21KB

And remember, sometimes the certificate file shows an unknown file extension, just rename it with any renamer/unlocker application or from command prompt!

@smartjigar_2, after you open the auto_signsis.bat file with notepad, rename the FExplorer.sis and FExplorer_signed.sis to rotateme.sis and rotateme_signed.sis, and save. DON'T use save as .... It will work.

u need to add one more file..... autosign_sis.bat!!

oops i got it. I have got the signedsis file. I tranfered to my phone. But LOL:D my phone i guess wont support landscape mode. I tried Landscape but nothing happening...bad luck!

i found this 'bug' (??) i dont know how to name it... if you dont write 'signsis' before 'Rotateme_unsigned.sis' you can also install app :) just click on the auto_signsis.bat and Nokia App Instaler will install it ;)

hi after reading this thread i tried a lot to use this thread but all in vain. It always say that its protected item. And i tried to sign it the way mentioned but all in vain. So please guide me what to do.

Here you go Clarencerx. The signed app only for your n80i. I would suggest you to never give out your imei like how you have. Its not safe at all. For your safety edit your post and remove it.
