i just tested it on my n73
after i change to a new simcard and boot up my phone
the alarm and sms alert does not activate at all
it will only happen when i use the new simcard to access the phone guardian software.
Is this suppose to happen? or did i do something wrongly?
my settings
guard active on
lock mode both
alarm on
lock message: xxxxxxx
send alarm sms to : xxxxxxx

Try to use the Autolock mode feature and change ur sim to see please.

me too encounter the same problem on my N73 as mention by lafiel. Hope there's a solution to that. Pls advice. thanks

how are u suppose to know the thief or new sim card no. when it dosent even send the sms alert to u in the first place?

Just tried this out using my e61. It works pretty good, I switched out with my mom's sim card to see what the sms would say. I waited and it never sent so then I opened phone guardian (with my mom's sim still inside) then it finally sent it, so looks like you'll need a program to run it on start up too. Definitely a must have though, that sms even contains the thief's hand phone number.

saad3000 i know that "":l:XXXX"" will lock the phone and you have to send "":u:XXXX"" in order to unlock it.
so, it is necessary to send that sms everytime your phone is stolen?
in this case i think that the phone guardian is useless, because, for instance on E50, this feature is already included (Block to SIM change).

oke I tried it with different sim card nothing happend, But when i opened the phone guardian the Phone Alarm was triggered (its annoying lol) and the message got SENT!! HOWEVER am wondering if the bug is that It should Autostart by itself..

1) GO TO SYMBIAN GURU and download THE TRIAL!!!!

2) OF COURSE REMOVE the cracked Phone Guardian from your Phone memory! BUT MAKE SURE you write Down on a Piece of paper the Keygen Code !!!

3) After removing the cracked version INSTALL THE TRIAL!! REGISTER WITH THE CODE that was provided with the cracked Version!!! and RESTART phone!! you will notice if you have a taskman that Phone guardian runs on the background as A process!!

NOW I tested it with my dad's sim card when the phone finished the powerup it Auto- Sent an SMS and triggered the ALARM!!! YEYEYYEYEYE

Send the message in the correct format

:l:password to lock the phone

:u:password to unlock the phone

try it.. just write ur pass in 'password' field and send it.........

its working for me.....

I get Phone Guardian : System error (-11) when starting up the phone ! SMS locking is not working either! N80

Its working fine here on N73. didn't get any sys-errors about sms locking i didn't try it yet..

if locking using the phone feature in build lock sim, pin code to prevent sim change thus leaving the thief to try hard reset etc and thus the phone guardian software will be deleted
so do u guys think it is better not to use the phone locking feature and bait the thief to change simcard and then the phone will be auto lock by phone guardian with his no. being send to u?

A phone guardian tip:

1)Use Both locking Modes
2)Alarm off
3)use Alfanumeric password
4)Autolock keypadmode ON (For extra safe feature) incase your paranoid! :)

If i had N95 i would do step 4 also :)

I get System Error (-11) when using the trial downloaded from the Symbian Guru website. I am using N80. Anybody has the same problem and a solution ?

• Password protection for all applications, SMS, Emails, Contacts, data connections
• Application Icon can be hidden
• Siren sound can be turned on and off using SMS
• Alarm SMS now can be sent to two different numbers
• Information about the phone and SIM card can be requested now at any time per SMS

In my 3250 I am facing a perculiar problem its when I am installing phone guardian all programs such as blacklist, call recorder etc stops functioning and even if opening these application nothing happens

The documentation says that you can use the registration code instead of the lock password. Run the keygen and use that.

It works on my N73. Just like phone secure. At last got this application

This APP is WAY better than Advanced Device Lock. Really believe me! What's better:

-The phone can send SMS when booted with another SIM witch is not yours. That's pretty cool. It sends a message with the phone number of the SIM card inserted.
-There's a downside here: Guardian is a little bit heavier and will eat your battery.

I don´t believe that someone would be looking for me in case of phone loose. That´s why these apps are nothing special according to me.

I have emailed their support to try and see where the problem is as its the same with the proper trial download and the same on my n80. When the activation sms is sent from another phone it appears on the active menu screen but then disappears and nothing happens.

Find the Application Manager and check the settings - you need 'Software Installation' to be on 'All' and 'Online Certif. check' to be 'Off'

Please note that this version has expired so find the v2.00 of this app and someone has took the keygen from this version and added it to that version. ;)

got taskman 1.01 running but cant find any options to show what processes are running. tried what you said anyway and when the activation sms is received it just shows on the screen then clears and phone guardian does nothing. why has the creator still not got v2 on his site when it should have been out in feb...

you are the mod not me although I cant see your trial going too far. try reading the other pages and you will see where the problem is and if you say its now with v2 why have you been posting replies.... wake up my good man.

Been testing this today and its got quite a few bugs like the Alarm doesnt work and when it received the lock text you can turn the phone off and on again and format so the program is gone.... The supplier is aware of these bugs and statest they will be fixed in v2 but I note they are still selling this faulty/buggy version.... But then again so are Nokia.

The built in protection on the e65 is very good. You can lock it with a remote text but it uses the standard security code lock so when you restart the phone its still locked and you cant reformat it to erase the program. It also sends a text to the phone that sent the lock command telling you the phone has been locked so all in all its very similar but it works and its free - at least on the e65.

great application works fine on my n73

Works smoothly on my 3250 as well...Brillliant.. Amazed how well it does in going about its job..Nifty application..

well it def dont work on e65 and its buggy on the n80 as it will only alarm if you go to the application and run it after swapping SIMs. Also the instructions are a little vague ie the menu option 'Turn On' means to me select this to 'turn on' but no, it means its actually already turned on so perhaps they should rename this label as to what it is saying. They also wernt to clear about things and told me to try swapping SIMs to test the alarm although it should work if you send a lock text.
Currently using the built in one on the e65 although not too worried as I have never lost a phone yet an about 10 years.

did u tried shifting ur date back to 2006, try that .. with expired certificates u can do the date trick ... i did it and installed all the files on my n73

You can download the trial app from the developer site and register it with the serial from the keygen you find here -> [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Of course you have to sign the keygen first.

Strange that I had the same reply many many months ago so I wouldnt hold your breath...

This App is Giving CERT EXPIRED. And even after changing the date back to 2006, it says cert is not valid yet or cert expired. Not getting installed anyways. Plz help me. I even dont know how to sign an unsigned file. PLZ HELP me to INSTALL this.

Dont set the date 1year back...
Set it to Feb 20 2007 and try...

You need to Sign the Application! Try This if you have account in "symbiansigned.com"

For expired cert do this...
Set the phone date back by 5-6 months...
Install the app...
Register it...
Than again set the date back to routine...

the app is signed, i changed date to February 2007, March, April, May...
even 2006 i tried out.

in 2007 the certificate is expired, in 2006 my n95 says CERT MAY NOT BE VALID YET

no way to install v. 1.0 and i needed to run 2.0 on my nokia

Cert generated from symbian signed are valid only for 6mnths...
So maybe its time to get a new cert...;)

it lock the phone only when you try to access the phone guardian and if swith off the phone and after that swith on again its all good no phone lock no nothing and the thief will know to dont touch the program ever again.... stupid !
