Some observations about this program.

The concept is great but there are some problems with it.

a) All dialog messages are still in Russian.
b) It does not handle pathnames with embedded spaces in it.
c) There seems to be an unexplained dependence on "mykey.key". Why only this key and not our own ones?

Apart from that, nice idea...

Z.

zardoz99,
1) origin version is in russian, and many people asked me to translate this app to english. I've been translated it late night and missed something, but I think it is not so important..
2) Embedded spaces - it is the problem of "Signer.exe", not of my app...
3) There is no dependence on "mykey.key". You can replace it whit your one. I mean that "mykey.key" used while requesting certificate and while signing with the XpressSigner must be THE SAME!.

thanX for thanX :)

Hi all,

Truing for days now to sign an app. Everything goes well untill i try to install the sis on my E61. I get a an error about the certificate. The imei i use is correct in the Symbian Developer Certificate Request programm. Xpress Signer doesnt give any errors either. Only the phone refuses. BTW: certificate check is set to off on the phone so thats not the problem i guess.

many thx,
phil

fille, please check the following:
1. XpressSigner (XS) installed to C:\Signer\
2. Place your sis(x)-file to be signed to that folder, too.
3. If you already have your certificate then place it to C:\Signer\cert\, and replace the keyfile mykey.key with yours
Or, get the new certificate using mykey.key file in folder C:\Signer\cert
4. When all these preparations and checking done just run XS enter correct data and password that you have used while requestibg your certificate and push GO! button.

Remember - all files MUST be in the same folder:
XS, sis(x) to be signed in root folder (e.g. C:\Signer)
keyfile and certificate in subfolder (e.g.C:\Signer\cert)

My advice - just install the XS as it should be with no changes (always click OK's, next's and so on:)), get the new certificate using the keyfile mykey.key in XS folder, and place the certificate in the C:\Signer\cert folder
Run XS, select the files, enter the password (that password used in DEvCertRequest app) and push GO! button.
XS works fine! If not - you are doing some mistake

its gud and the file explorer , i tried on it... works fine!!!!excellent work jammm..but it signs all the unsigned apps in the folder!!! can you do something about it!!!!!!???

Jammm
7th March 2007, 11:27
no, it's made to sign all unsigned upps in the folder, so just install XS, and copy unsigned app to be signed to one folder, and then install them and move to another folder.
