TrackID
The new and amazing TrackID-feature on Sony Ericsson Walkman phones have now been created in a JAVA-version, too. Of course, it's not official, but it works like magic!
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
I was playing 2Pac's "Dear Mama" on my PC with lots of bas, and I didn't think the application would be able to get it. But here it is! :D :D :D Screenshots are from my P990, but I also tried it succesfully on K800.
Here's how you do:
Use the phone feature 'Record sound', any song from any FM radio, NOT your built-in radio.
Record for at least 10-15 seconds. The file will have .amr extension. It's automatically saved in Music folder.
Open Track ID. Browse to folder e--Music--your recording.amr. Folder E: is your Memory Stick.
Click Select
Allow to send to the net? Yes.
TrackID processes the .amr file. You'll see log, flush, open Audio Streaming, etc.
If successful, the app will ask you to launch your web browser
The TrackID analyzes audio from recorded music from the phone and then submits that audio sample to the TrackID service. The Gracenote service compares a "musical fingerprint" generated from the audio sample against an enormous database of fingerprints containing 2.5 million songs which covers the global music market. The fingerprint is matched and the listener is sent the song name and artist info.

JBenchmark Net BETA
Are you prepared for the mobile networking boom? Network enabled mobile applications will take off soon as more and more network operators will launch flat rate (unlimited download) internet packages.
Mobile online communities, networked games, user generated content and IP based communication technologies (VOIP, instant messaging) will all benefit from the increased bandwidth and more liberal use of networks.
For the effective use of these services mobile handsets and operators need to be prepared.
JBenchmark Net Beta is our test tool to help evaluating the network bandwidth and response speed available for mobile applications, measuring the bottlenecks of networks and devices.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Features:
JBenchmark Net analyzes networking speed by measuring the time to connect, download and upload files to JBenchmark Net servers.
Based on the measurements the following statistics are created:
Download speed in Kbits/second
Upload speed in Kbits/second
Response time in milliseconds (round-trip latency)
Connection time in milliseconds
Test duration
Traffic generated
Network operator name (only in final version)
Country of test (only in final version)
Network type (3G, HSDPA, EDGE, WiFi, etc)
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
JBenchmark Net Community Edition is free to use for JBenchmark Community Members.
The application will request your login and password before the test starts.
If you're not yet member of JBenchmark Community, please register now. (It's free.)
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Most phones will ask for your permission before connecting to the internet.
Important : you have to agree when prompted if you want to test networking with your device.
If it's possible, please choose "Ask only once" or "Yes, this session only" options to permit networking for the whole testing in one step.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
If the connection and authentication go fine, the real network testing starts.
The progress bar on the screen will show the actual stage of the test. (This can take from 30 to 60 seconds.)

It will be great if my camera mobile phone can only be accessed by me. FaceMatch is such an application. It stores one or several master faces of the mobile phone owner, the user need to have a snapshot of the face and match with owners face, if it passed the match, it will allow the user see/edit some secrete info (ex. phone number), otherwise it will deny the access.
Sounds interesting, does it really work? Test yourself! Remember the face should be straight front face filled with viewfinder the way as you take the master face. To create your own master face in your mobile, you need to signup after you take a good quality master face. Of cource the master face is not necessary a face, it can be any image that only you know. When match, you need to snapshot that image to compare.
