my computer recognizes that my flash drive is connected but it says please insert disc when i try to open it.i cant even format it. it says unable to complete format.any suggestions?is there a tool or software i can use to fix or revive my flash drive?

it happened with my pendrive to. it must be infected with virus. scan it.

same here i experience that with my sony 4 did flash disk...i hope there is a solution to that problem...

have u tried formating through the computer management ?

the computer obviously doesnt have drivers. are u using a version below Windows XP?

yepp! my sony 1GB pendrive. says please insert disk too. damn... my OS winXP prof. theres nothing wrong with what OS you're using. its the crappy sony pendrive does it...

Here is a list i've thought of...:

1. Make sure you have the correct drivers
2. Try doing a quick format
3. Try formatting/using it in another computer
4. Uninstall & reinstall the drivers
5. Rollback/Update the drivers
6. Scan for viruses
7. Make sure the USB device isn't damaged

If that doesn't work, use a mallet and buy another :)

guys are your pc ntfs or fat..if your pc is fat and you stick is ntfs it wont open it you got to format ur stick to fat
