hi guys i know that this is such a silly question but can anyone tell me wat we need steam for and well i also play counter strike 1.6 but can i play wit bot and how can i make a sever online. Another one is that i can seem to joint people on the internet server when i finish connecting to the sever and choose who m i and then i just pop out to the sever what's wrong

I don't think you can play Counter-Strike that is not legal using steam, cause I think the server will surely ban your acc (just what did the punkbuster did to my EA acc)

you can use private/cracked servers to play

i hav a non steam version of CS... how can i create my own game and play with my friends online???

You can download steam and make a free acount, then download games through steam. It's not like WoW where you have to pay to play after you buy the game. Steam just hosts the games and lets you play online. Not to mention my antivirus found a trojan after installing this file. Someone should double check because I already uninstalled and deleted it. You guys should scan your computers.
