Blah, my Route66 just keeps on saying "No GPS" when I start it. No matter what I do, it keeps on saying it. It finds 0 satellites even though N95's GPS-data finds many satellites and good signals and position pretty fast. Any advice, anyone? Tyvm beforehand!

Go here... [Only registered and activated users can see links] and follow the instructions. In order to sign an unsigned application, I believe you must provide the sis(x) file you want to be signed and your IMEI code of your phone, so that the guys there can match it with the app. Of course, you must also give an email to receive the signed file :)

All requests should be made via PM only (for obvious security reasons).

I folow the procedure of signing and put version 468 of Route 66 on my N73 and it is working OK, only that map of Eastern Europe at least for Ljubljana is not so good. Prefer TOM TOM 6 and EE 680.1466 map.

Does anybody make version 545 working - I have a key for old Route 66 for symbian s60 v 2 but i am not shure if it will work. I will try and let you know.

Hi friends
I am also new to N95 and route66. I have follows all steps, extracted and signed the three Route66.Mobile.v7.3.486.N95_unsigned.sis and installed, copied map to the right directory system/apps/route66/maps also copied the activation key to the route66 folder, have tried few different UK maps still have no joy. Just getting message

Please reinstall the application!

I am using route66 first time and have latest firmware on me n95.

Please through some light and put me right.
One question, Do we have to sign all Route66.Mobile.v7.3.486.N95_part1, part2 and part3 files and install all of them one after the other or only one of them as three files looks same.

to be honest with you no software has detailed map of croatia. was there this summer and was using older map than posted recently and it covers only major roads most cities but not to a detailed street level.
tried built in maps, route and tomtom. doesnt have new roads (lotsa road renovations there) like i posted earlier in some theread if the country is selling detailed maps in paper than the chances are that the softwares (navtech) have it too, if not then you are out of luck. contrary to what some thinkthe maps are not provided via satelite (even google ones), rather they are made from countries budget and airplanes taking high resolution pics.

Sorry, but I have not understood the signing mechanism.
This app (R66) must be signed. It means that certificate expires after 6 months.
Is it just? ...and then after exipiration what did we will make to re-activate R66?

I'm not sure but the certificate checking shoud happens only when you installl the app, not after installing. Anyway in case of new installation you have only to certificate again the unsigned file

I finally figured out whats wrong!

Reason why some of you can get it working is because of the activation.dat file. I copied a "cracked" older activation.dat file into the System\Apps\Route66 folder and it started to load up!

Testing now to see if it can pick up the satellites (my room sucks for GPS signals!)

I have attached it here in case anyone needs it as well!

old maps work just fine in .545

you must be confusing it with old maps (current) and mobile8 which has not even been released cept that it comes preinstalled on one phone and yes they have to purchase the new maps.

they are one file split into several small sizes in a string. unraring one (the first one) uncompresses the rest.
then the rest sign load install and ****. read up on other topics (learn) or stickies.

Finally managed to get the app signed, installed it, put the maps in, the app works fine, but will not work with the internal GPS on my N95. just says "No GPS". Have I missed something? what am I doing wrong?

No newer maps are available.. even if you want to buy them.

Itl seems that Route66 is not willing to support further Mobile 7.

Maybe they will release Mobile 8 (ie the one included in Nokia 6110) also for other devices.. at that point new maps will be available :handball:

From the menu go to "Preferences", move to the tab called "Map", then do down to the box labelled "Map" and from there you can choose the map you want.
If you see just one then is either not properly installed or is not compatible.

I've installed R66 and it's working perfectly.
This is how I've done it:
1. I have downloaded the app from here:

2. I've followed this tutorial to sign my app with my phone IMEI:

3. I've conected my N95 with the USB cable in Mass Storage mode and copied the signed .sis file on the memory card (you can copy the signed file anywhere you want on the memorycard)
4. I've removed the cable, browse the memory card with the phone to the .sis file I've just copied, and started the instalation from there, and I choosed to install the app in the memory card
5. After that I tried to start the R66 but, off course, like everyone here, I saw the message with the "files missing" and "reinstall".
6. I've conected again my N95 with the USB cable in Mass Storage mode and browse the memory card to mmc:\system\apps\Route66 (where "mmc" is your card), and created "maps" folder in "Route66" folder.
7. I have downloaded with DC++ "EasternEurope.prm", 50,2 MB, (the map I need) and copied the map to mmc:\system\apps\Route66\maps, I started the app, I choosed to activate R66 via internet with the activation key 5252525252525252 (16 digits) and voila! It worked. Regarding the maps, not every map it's working, you have to try different maps until you get the wright one (if the app starts, this means you have the wright map).
8. First time I've started R66 I've got the message (NO GPS!). So I went in menu/tools/gps data and I've waited until I've got a lock on the sattelites (with the latest firmware upgrade I have a lock in 10 seconds), I got back to R66 and I could use the navigation sistem. There's no need for the second time to open the gps data, you just have to wait until you have a lock on the sattelites.

I can assure you if you do exactly as I told you you can use R66. I've studied this forum yesterday all day long, I found the easiest way to install and use R66.

It's not working on my N95. Installed it on SD card and copied system/apps/route66 to SD. After startup it closes within 2 seconds.

Have you put the map in the right directory ?? System/apps/route66/map.

Also i have seen your problem before and the way they got round it was to reformat mem card, and reinstall the firmware. this may help as a last resort.

Hi is there a way to add speed cameras to this? Was using Tom Tom on my N73, but it got stolen, and it seems pointless to use tomtom on the N95 without the internal GPS. Got this working great, but no speed cameras :(

Unfortunately you can't have additional POIs (including speedcameras) on R66 mobile 7 version.

If you need them stick to Tomtom ;)

Try the enclosed aplication. Use BiNPDA SIGNSiS v0.1.exe, and for the password tipe your own IMEI. Then use the activation key enclosed also instead of your own. For me it works. Good luck

i've installed route66 on my n95 with the latest firmware.
the software works fine, but without the internal gps of my n95.

my question is:

works it now with the internal gps of the n95???

route66, tomtom, mobile navigon - i need only one which works with the internal gps.

i've installed all but no one works with the mofu internal gps!

i don't want to take my phone incl. a gps bluetooth mouse on my way.
it have to work with the internal gps.

if someone can help me and all the other fellaz out there, please post a tutorial.

Y_to_da_E (and everyone else having this same issue). Make sure that the phone settings (NOT R66 settings) has Integrated GPS enabled and BT GPS disabled by:

Menu > Tools > General > Positioning > Positioning Methods

Make sure there is a big fat tick next to Integrated GPS, Network Based and if you are on version 12 firmware, Assisted GPS. Turn OFF (no tick) Bluetooth GPS.

R66 uses the built in Location API (which is controlled here). If BT GPS is enabled, then it will most likely use this as default.

**EDIT**
I tested the theory and it holds true. MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF BT GPS IN THE SETTINGS AND IT WILL NOT ASK YOU FOR BT CONNECTION!!!

i have installed this on my n95 with the maps but could anyone help me to solve this problem im in where to connect with the internal gps on the n95? It says in 'help' that in the 'preferences' and then 'navigation' there should be an option of selecting 'default gps', but i havent got that option? all i have got is 'default gprs'.
Does or could anyone help me out and get me out of this situation?
All i would like to know is how to connect to my internal gps on the n95.

Ok guys... i'm the proud owner of N95 now...just bought it 2 days ago...and its n Orange Product...v 11.0.026....i cant install the soft...it giv me n error 'certificate error,pls contact ur app provider'...i've tried changing the year to 2006 which some app will get thru...but not this Route66...any solu pls...!

Hi,
I need your help. I've Route66- cracked and signed certificate (many thanks for acs76 !!!) . I can't install it cos I have no idea how to install this certificate on my mobile. I've installed Route66 but I see comments: Resource error, resources files are missing. Pls reinstall the app. pls help me which programm I should use to install the certificate - maybe u can provide me a link? It would be great if someone could give me a discription how to do this step by step.

Here's how to install plus a very useful link on the prog itself and maps:-

Route66 Mobile 7 - 7.3.468 - Support with N95 internal GPS

This package is known multilanguage Symbian Route 66 Mobile 7 v2/3. Only this package mysteriously works well with internal N95's GPS receiver !
It does not ask BT connection at startup and doesn't exists the item "STANDARD GPS" in preferences --> navigation menu. Incredible... but, after some time, satellites fix happens by N95 inside GPS receiver!

First fix may take up to 10 minutes or more.
next fix less then a minute.

No need to open internal GPS status application (even if you want see how much sattelite available)

Maps not included.

- Extract rar,
- sign the sis, ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
- Install signed app.
- Copy your maps (not included) into system/apps/ROUTE66/maps
(you need maps for symbian, not ppc)
- Test application
- If activation required, choose activate via itnernet and digit <16> character. Make sure 16 and not more!!!
1.U have to self sign the file using ur IMEI.
2.After u install u have to copy atleast one map in map folder

Signed, correctly installed, map on system/apps/route66/maps

YOU HAVE TO CREATE MAPS folder and copy maps in it.

Hi All,

I have installed Route 66 on my N95 and everything appears to work but I have no sound/voice. I have set it to English under Languages. When a map is displayed I see a Speaker with a Red Cross on it at top right hand corner. Any idea's any body!:???:

I've some difficults finding address with route. When I'm looking for a road I receive lots of unuseful infos, also refinig the search (city, streat, number), the results are too many.

Is there a way similar tomtom to find ways? (eg. first the town and after the road of this town?)

Firsat you should be outside, than go into your phone and swich on gps, and if i remember corectlly you should have slide of the phone open. On some N95 you need to wait even 15 minutes for the first time - later on is faster.

By some reason it wasn´t working, aplication didn´t start so i copied ActivationKey.dat and prefs.ini from my N80 and pasted over the original one´s on N95 and now it´s running fine, was showing no gps, activated the original nokia app to give my position and entered route 66, it keept saying no gps until it started showing on route 66 map my position.
Now it´s working but wasn´t easy.
Only missing a remedy for tomtom wich is my favourite.

I just downloaded the sis file and tried to install it on my N95 8GB with the Nokia PC Suite, but the phone doesn't want to install it... the phone is asking if I want to install it, then I am pressing on OK and then it says: CERTIFICATE ERROR!

the same with the tomtom.sis file...

what I am doing wrong?

I even don't have the folder SYSTEM on my N95 8GB...

installed the signed Route66 but everytime I'm starting the software it is saying plz reinstall the software. (because I didn't put the map yet in a folder)

Can't find the system folder (I see all types of folder in my explorer)

For N95 8G, download "Route66.Mobile.v7.3.545.UnSigned-BiNPDA.sis".

You can find it here: h**p://rapidshare.com/users/2UG51R

Sign it, don't forget to place the *.prm file in the maps folder (create one if you need it).

Regarding the cellphone, I couldn't make Route66 work with any other version except for 545.

It depends on the firmware of your n95. The v20 has some changes, which are causing that the internal gps can't be detected by route66.

I've heard this from a lot of people, v20 FW is the problem.

Does anyone use the TMC (Traffic Message Channel) on this Route66?

I've not tried as I don't know how it works - does it use a data connection (thereby costing money), and is it a bad idea to use it on a cracked copy?!

I have formatted my memory stick, so Route66 is disappeared!

So I re-install the file Route66_signed.sis
Then I copy in E:\system\apps\Route66 - Activation Key
And then I copy the map in E:\system\apps\Route66\maps

Now I find the Route66 in Application, So I fix the GPS and star Route66 but I don't have the speaker!

Why?

i had the same problem. I formatted my memory card twice but the problem is the activation key. go to your system folder then apps and route 66 where you will find a "activation.dat" file. Edit this with notepad and write 16 random numerical digits. Save it and run again Route 66. It is going to run this time..

You need to reformat the phone than reinstall the application.

after trying everything on here (i can sign stuff eg rotate me) more than once and trying loads of different installers my phone now refuses to install route 66 asking me if i want to overwrite during installing but iwhen finished it then doesnt show under apps.
nothing in sys or system folder even hidden. so its as if its semi installed and i cant uninstall it. looked in app manager etc.
so what can i do?
i have mgmaps working and installed with loads of sat imagery that i dont want to lose and also nokia maps installed and loads of stuff so i dont want to format my memory card.
is there any mobile 'reg cleaner'type software available?

I'm having trouble at symbiansigned. Always worked in the past for me, but now coming up with "errors":]

Your request has failed. Reason:
- Developer Certificates will be ENABLED for users who have a Publisher ID ONLY. (during GMT office hours)
- ONLY if you used a Publisher ID to create a .csr file with the DevCertCreate tool will you be able to use Open Signed Offline to create a Developer Certificate.
- Developer Certificates are currently DISABLED for users without a Publisher ID. Users who DO NOT have a Publisher ID CANNOT request Developer Certificates or use Open Signed Offline.
- Open Signed Online and Offline for users without a Publisher ID will NOT be available temporarily, an update will be provided during Week beginning 25th Feb
- If you have recently obtained a Publisher ID and are unable to create a Developer Certificate using Open Signed Offline please request support through the Symbian Signed forum on the Symbian Developer Network

NO ONE can get cert anymore, you're SOL at this point. Try to use Garmin XT instead, no need to sign.

Followed the instructions using this thread, and have successfully got Route66 working!

Using an N95-4 8GB. First time around, application would start, and show activation screen for about 4-5 seconds, then quit immediately. Copied the supplied ActivationKey.dat and voila, problem solved! Used the built-in GPS Data and GPS'd applications to lock onto a satellite, then started Route66. GPS signal within 5 seconds! SOOOO much faster than Nokia Maps, am very pleased so far.

Will test out the navigation, etc tomorrow. Was also MUCH faster at finding addresses, and places of interest.. Seemed to know everything!

I downloaded my North America maps from this torrent, which are seperated into Midwest, SouthEast, I-70, Route 66, East, etc. About 430MB per map. Am using the Midwest map so far and can tell it is very detailed.

Hope this helps anyone looking for USA maps! Just don't mind the Windows Mobile files, and don't select to DL them if you don't want them and it will save you mucho hard drive space!

I will be seeding this to help and my DL was very fast from this torrent as well...

nope that's the beauty of cracked appz my friend! once you get it working, free of charge apart from the extremely minor data transferred using the GPS. :egdance:

also remember that the data transferred is by the a-gps, a software based thing that uses network to get u a faster gps fix. U can turn it off anytime. go to menu(system menu not program)>tools>settings>general>positioning>positioning methods>
disable assisted gps and network. network based gps uses network and uses cell tower navigation and assisted gps is the a-gps i mentioned earlier.
note: with a-gps turned off, gps fix may take longer time and will NOT hog on ur money.
if u never lost money so far then the positoning server access point in menu(system menu not program)>tools>settings>general>positioning>positioning methods> was not defined earlier.

App should already be signed. This version is NOT detecting my internal GPS on my E71 but the app is installed correctly with the instructions of the last two posts.

hey guys, i'm using route66 Mobile 8 for my n95 8g and i downloaded the usa map from their site but the map i downloaded it is usa.map and not usa.prm as the old ones. I have the map but i need a unlock code for it ....

does anyone knows or has a keygen ?

You didn't load any map. Load one and the error will disappear.

thanks a million again IOJI, i have had problems with trying to get route 66 mobile 8 on my n95, it comes on then says internal error or something, i know it is faster than garmin to lock on to gps, could you please help me?.

o.k, your definately right, it says "resource error,resource files are missing, try re-installing", now to be exact, i have installed it and it is in drive "e:" it does not have it's own folder there, the folder is in system/apps/route 66, now i have an australian map and it is almost 120mb, the map has a ".map" at the end, is this correct, or do i have to change it, eg. australian.prn? also there are is a "phone.dat" and an "imie.dat" files that are not there, what should actually be in the route 66 folder?, the reason i ask is because i have also dowloaded mobile 8 and there are certain files in mobile 8 which are not in mobile 7.

"Resource error,resource files are missing" usually appear when you don't have a map loaded or you loaded a wrong one. Maps goes to "system/apps/route66/maps". I suggest to try another map, maybe your map is for ppc. The right map for symbian has prm extension, changing that at your map don't think will solve anything.

Mobile 8 it's different from Mobile 7. Don't make a mix from them. But you can try this ones too:

hey IOJI, thanks for all your help, now i tried what you said but it still didn't work, i find it hard to extract these damned files into one, so, i extracted mobile 8, then added some missing files from mobile 7, don't ask me hows i dun it but i'se dun it..lol.
seems there were a few files missing to get these going from the download you provided ( i must say i could have done it wrong and not your fault), but i managed to do it, now i also know the the IMIE.dat and PHONE.DAT numbers have to be changed to the persons IMIE numbers, but anyway it's all going just need to download the free trial maps of australia from route 66 itself.

now i must say my friend, it is usually easier in my opinion to just download the folder as a whole itself from the phone card, for example garmin, i put the micro sd card in the reader and just transfer the whole folder into a friends, of course i change the sw.unl file to suit his/hers and i only need the australian maps, if you need the australian maps just let me know, it does the whole of australia with all cities and it's 2009.

I don't usually use R66 because the coverage for my country and surroundings is very poor.
