it works floweless in my N560 vga ppc.. and it is a final release..as i know offcource.. a simple answer untill experts will give any answer :) It works also at my second pda with windows mobile 2003se too!

I TESTED WITH P3300 AND IT WORK'S FINE WITH GPS GATE.
I DIDN'T TRIE WITH OUT THIS .
IT'S VERY NICE.

some times the p3300 close in the time the destinator 7 is running,but when you charge't no problem.any answer on this situation

I removed all the langs apart from greek,deleted TTS and removed the autorun code for TTS installation....if anyone likes to try it...

It's the same old Destinator PN with a glorified GUI upgrade (again)..

They should name it Destinator 5.6 as far as I am concerned (Destinator 6 was actually v5.5).

Now they "invented" the automatic night cycle. Who knows, maybe in 10 years time they might come up with such novelties as "tunnel mode" or "VGA mode".

Non-Greek members (hostages to Destinator Technologies due to the lack of decent maps for other platforms) shouldn't bother at all with this antiquated piece of crap..

I get the POI kategories in English not greek though... Is it just me? Anybody else gets this?

It also happens to me. You have to copy the forlinks of the map you want to use at the path \SD-MMCard\DestinatorApps\Destinator\UserData\forlinks in order tou have the pois and the avoids (for example of tolls) activated.

I didn't also need to use the crack because i had the last version of the map of greece legally.So i just copied it at the path \SD-MMCard\DestinatorApps\GreeceU

SAME ME ALSO.
SOME POIS GATEGORIES ARE EMPTY ARE EMPTY AND YOU HAVE TO GO TO {NEXT} WHERE YOU FIND THERE ALL THE CATEGORIES ALL THE DETAILS.

It also happened to me. Another problem is that all the categories are in english and not in greek as they were in Destinator 6.1.1.40010.

I've put the Benelux map in the root of the card.
But when I start Destinator, it says no maps found :(

You have to put the map at the right path which is

\SD-MMCard\DestinatorApps\

for example for Benelux you put all the map files in the folder

\SD-MMCard\DestinatorApps\Benelux

I have a problem though with it...
Can anyone help?
It seems to work ok, but when i try to transfer to a given address, it calculates the route and says that either the start point , or destination is incorrect and that it cannot be done by a vehicle.
Anyone knows why?I used to have dest 6.1.1 eith the gpsgate trick to work in my greek htc p3300 and it was working perfectly. I tried this also without gpsgate , but same results

The PPC goes to sleep mode while navigating. Do you guys have the same problem? In Destinator6 this was disabled by default. Is there an option to deactivate it? I can't find one..

Hi guys, once again you did a great job with this!

Can you please answer the following questions!

1) Can we install Dest 7 without uninstalling Dest 6.1.1 first, or must we uninstall everything and take it from the top?
2) About the POI's, if the lang is set to English and the voice to Greek is there a problem?
3) Do we really need to put the forlinks in the SD card even though we have the main app in rom?
4) Is there a solution to the problem of the backlight turning off after a while when operating on battery?

Please guys help us enjoy this new version!!!

They are for Dest 6.1.1. I do not know if they work with Dest 7 but you can give them a try.

I had the same problem but when I moved for 50-100m with my car the problem was solved. Try it. may it works like my ppc.

The only way I found to resolve this problem is by making a profile especially for use with Destinator (I use phoneAlarm for switching profiles). In this profile I deactivated the "Turn Off Backlight after ... sec" and "Turn Off Device after ... sec", and ppc is on all the time.

I have been allready playing around with your voice pack,
anyway i fixed it and its talking to me now!!
I installed the app in main main memory and then cut-paste everything in storage card, but i had no voice.
When i removed the app in the "add-remove programms menu", everything seems to be working o.k.
That might be the trick.
Or maybe it was just me messing with the .inf and .ini voices files !!

All work perfect to me.Voices, map etc etc except automatic sleep mode.
Only solution so far is to put phone on ac/dc charger in car.

I've already run the Greek.cab but the moment I run Main.cab a mesage informs me that DestinatorApps Destinator was not installed successfully. Please run Setup again. Do you know what goes wrong?

Same here.
When i first tried to install using the attached cab files from johner's post, i had the "DestinatorApps Destinator was not installed successfully" message.
I downloaded the files posted in rapidshare link in first post and installed, everything is working o.k.
Maybe johner should check this "main .cab" attachment.
(no offence, johner !)

Problem with destination not accesible by a road, message seems to me to be with the version of 2007 maps and not an application problem.

I tried dest7 with the version of 2006 q3 and works good - up to now....

i have a small problem with the patch for 240x240
in favorites i cant select the latest "ΦΟΡ_ΡΑΝΤΑΡ_ΤΑΧΥΤ_R", also i had problems with the screen when i was clicking the others, and i had to click one by one and then click up-down to fix the screen

Hi all!
I installed Destinator 7 and it finds the latest Greek map 2007.Q2 I got on my SD but it says that the map needs registration. I have also placed destcore.dll in \windows but still...
Can anyone help me?

I also tried to reinstall Destinator 6 but I have the same problem, even I had no problems before :(

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've tested Destinator 7. I'm fully disapointed. Has anyone got a different point of view?

Perhaps it has a better menu functionality. But : Lucks always in preferences regarding route calculation. I found impossible to define country roads to avoid.
(only named streets).

With dest 7 and maps 2007 (apart the above mentioned problem) the route calculation in country raods is bizzare !!. Selection of dirt roads or small roads, take th oposite direction !! for 3 km and then make a turn to come back and lots of stupid thinks. If you cancel and recalculate it takes another road !?!?
I never had this problem like with dest 6.

I put back the 2006Q3 maps.
It si disapointing in deed.

Greetings to the Gurus of the site and thanks for sharing.

I have two problems with Dest 7 and ppc 2003se. First is that voice only works the first time I run the program after installation. When I exit and run it again it goes ..dumb!

Second is that although I can't locate the forlinks directory, I still have POIs and some "avoids". When I copy my old folrinks dir from 6.1 it still misses some of my old street to avoid.

I would appreciate any input / solution to the above

I tried these files they seem to be OK.But i have 2 problems.
1.I have no sound except the click.Nothing else.I tried leaving the .spx files,no result.I replaced them with .wav,still nothing.
2.The other problem is that on some of the menu buttons i have no Greek names which exist on the buttons when the language is set to English.E.g. the Go To and Route buttons appear as <NO RES> when language is set to Greek.

I put Dest 7 in my Eten X500 and it works great.I tried it with 10 different destinations during the day and it worked great.I copied my"favorites" from Dest 6 and everything looks great.Tomorrow I will delete the old and rusty Dest 6!!!

1) I tried to do the same after your post, initially i had an error message "can't find "DestinatorVoiceManeuvers.inf" so I copied it from Dest6, then when it starts it displays GreeceU ver 2006.Q3.4503 and ... nothing!!! I copied "ForLinks" in Destinator\Common\ also in Destinator\UserData but nothing, please advice OR IF POSSIBLE upload your installed dest7 folder
(coredll used from 6? or 7?) coredll from 7 starts but again the same "not accesible by a road" problem

2) map ver your using ?

3) GPSgate installed?

I've had the same problem and i went back to version 6 which works perfectly until there's a way to solve this problem

Did the same thing to my Mio P550 but when i did the following: Start...Settings....System...Power...Advanced...Ti ck off the turn off device if not used for... and now it works continuously.

1000 thanks to Johner and Karagiosis for D7. Here's some personal oppinion-feedback for the app. I used D7 all weekend and i can't say that i was all too pleased. The speed and info digits are now smaller and the turn bar is almost in the middle of the screen. The device turns to sleep after the set time like the app isn't running so i have to readjust from windows. Finally the instruction voices are not loud enough and when i tried to use the 101db voices, the .wav format was not recognised. From my point of view the 6.1.1 with the latest map works better for me. Already reinstalled it.

Exactly.
Only that you have to edit that post, saying it's for WM5.
There is an other cab for WM3, attach that one too so everything will be clear !
I realy feel uncomfortable making sugestions to you...

Is it possible to place destinator 7 in a directory an run it from SD Card (Like destinator 6.0)?. This is usefull because we dont have to remove the old good working destinator 6.1 till all problems solved.
Yeap this is possible.
Yesterday I upgraded to WM6 and I run the destinator 6 from the card and everything was ok!:drinkers:

tested dest 7 with gps gate on:
a) htc p3300 and
b:)htc x7500 advantage.

dest 7 works fine on both machines, however with the gps gate trick only.

reps up to the uploader and to whoever has contributed for this post.

faster than dest 6 but i think a lot of work still has to be done to make it smoother. whoever has used tom tom or igo 2006 plus, knows what i mean

just a question... doesnt your ppc go off after some time of "inactivity" when destination 7 is running?
I have the fujitsu-siemens n520 and after 2 minutes of not pressing any button or taping the screen, it goes off (energy saving mode) and i have to press the power on button to turn it on and resume destinator 7.
I didnt have this problem with 6.

Check post at page 13. May be dr650rs' answer will help.

With version 6, that was enabled/disabled by the program without my intervention.
Now with version 7 i have to do it each time i want to run destinator?
No, that's not good!
I hope they fix it , its the only thing that keeps me hooked on 6

Greek keyboards, qwerty included!

The supplied zipped file includes the standard (keyboard.ini) as well the qwerty (keyboard2.ini) keyboards.
Both of the files have full functionality including Greek, English, Numeric, Umlaut, etc. and also default to Greek as the primary input language.

Download, unzip to pc & (Just in case... Please keep a safe copy of your original files, before copying!) copy to folder:

"DestinatorApps\Destinator\Language\Greek\", if you use Greek as Display Language, or
"DestinatorApps\Destinator\Language\All\", if you use English instead
or even in both folders!

Note: The files have been tested and work in portrait mode. Unfortunately I was not able to test them in landscape... So please post back if they do work in landscape!

Can those that find DestinAtor 7 flawless let us know if they are running WM6? I have the impression that WM5 and DestinAtor 7, so far, is not a good combination.... Any comments?

I use Dest7 with WM5 and Eten X500 and works like a charm!(abit slower though than Dest6 on finding Sats I think.)

QTEK G100 WM5 and Dest7 !
It was the solution to my big problem with the satelite scanning.
With Dest 6.1 needs 5-10 minutes to lock.
Dest 7 needs just 1 minute max! :)

Everything works perfect except:

hello all i downloaded the files john post in the first page. main.cab and greek.cab i replace the dll i downloaded the maps but i am not sure that i copy them in the right folder in my phone. can you tell me where its needed to paste in destinatora folder? thanks DestinatorApps\destinator\...? what
now when i turn on the destiantor it says no map can anyone tell me what i did wrong or what need to do now?

hello i am using dest 7 for 3 or 4 days it seems ok i use it in my yakumo alpha x pda with a 1 gb storage card i have it all in my storage card aplication and map it works ok exept from one think it does not let me see or chek my last entry in favorites it lets me see only part of it and when i try to chek it it is putting me in the next field to see the details. note here that all other dest 6.1, 6.1.1, 6.1.4 are working perfectly in the same pda.

if someone has any solution for that please help tell me what to do i upload a screencapture from my pda to see what i meen

I don't agree with u. Your opinion is that because you can not set destinator the way you would like. Graphics are better if u disable automatic zoom and make the zoom like u would like. Attractive Text to speech function with only 5.5mb files each voice, TMC with voice warnings, fast route calculation, drive to contacts, all are there and working like a charm..! Awesome. At the moment, in my opinion the most advanced navi application for pda...Hopefully we find updated maps soon...

Thanks a lot but..Where do I have to install the files? I tried to unzip them on a folder named "Destinator 7" on my storage card, but when I click on Destinator executable file, it doesn't work (problem with installation)..

And..How do I have to install the POI that I had with 6.1?? Sorry, but I am a novice user :):ilove:

the pois goes with the map.. the new map haves more pois than the older...

then when you unpack take the directory GreeceU and put into the DestinatorApps ... and forlinks into DestinatorApps\Destinator\UserData

IF you want your old favorite copy from dest 6.1 folder DestinatorApps\Destinator\UserData\Favorites to the new Dest 7 AFTER INSTALLATION...

OK guys, DestinAtor 7 is real so let's concentrate on compatibility issues, please, or tips and tricks to make it better!

I installed it on my Mio P550 and it works, despite shutting down in 1 minute or so. If I disable the auto-power off in the system menu (display off) then it seems to work normally. I guess v7 doesn't (yet) by-pass the system's setting for power saving. That's not a tragedy!

I will be soon providing you with properly translated Greek text for Destinator 7, please be patient! I am really embarassed for the guys that did these awful menus.

Also, panosha, killing the wav is one method--perhaps in the INI we can find the setting to switch it off, so that the program isn't looking for this WAV. Or perhaps replace it with something nicer and shorter, as sound? Let's experiment.

Anyone tried to see if the Favorites from v6 work well, especially those found over at http://gpspocketpc.gr/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=233 because I didn't have time to import them?

Hello to all. I made a keyboard for Dest7, with full functionality. It includes latin capitals, latin small, greek capitals, greek small, numbers, umlauts, with greek capitals as the default (however, this can be easily changed).

Perhaps, our version causes the problem with the message "......is not accessible by car...." and may is better to install other version.

I just received 2 links with Destinator which doesn't need installation. You just move them in SD.

It is not a serious install. It consists of just two text files (keyboard.ini and keyboard2.ini), which you copy to the Language folder of Destinator, replacing the default ones. (Of course you can create a backup copy of them and restore them whenever you like.)

I am happy to post the modified/improved/corrected Greek language file for Destinator 7.0.0 with text that has been mostly carried forward from my work on Destinator 6. There were some awful text corrected, so enjoy!

Comments/suggestions welcome. This is a preliminary version!

Backup your original file, by renaming it inside the folder \DestinatorApps\Destinator\Language\Greek\ from DestinatorMSG.inf to DestinatorMSG.original.inf and then unzip there the contents of this file, below.

Obviously, you are not supposed to be running Destinator ;)

N.B. I have also included the file DestinatorSpecialMSG.inf so please backup your original file by renaming it DestinatorSpecialMSG.original.inf prior to unzipping the contents of this attachment.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CORRECTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE SEND ME A PM SO THAT I CAN INCLUDE THEM TO THE NEXT VERSION!

My friends, I wrote an application in order to solve certain problems that Destinator 7 has.

The application do the following:

- Starts GpsGate.
- Starts KeepAlive (included in cab). This keeps Pocket Pc open without entering in suspend mode after few minutes.
- Starts Destinator.
- Waits for it to close.
- Closes KeepAlive.
- It opens the menu of GpsGate. You can close it. (I did't find a way to close it automatically).

It requires the .NET Compact Framework 2. (If it is not installed you can download it from microsoft).

I did try navigating and i only had two minor problems:
1. The PPC did suspend while on battery but i do not really mind.
2. On my first attempt to navigate i got a message saying something like "can't navigate to this location", but immediately i inserted the same address and the navigation was normal.
I tried navigating to another location after i arrived to the previous location and i did not receive the same message, everything was normal...

So, i guesss everything is ok (at least with me)...

developer69, can you please make the same application without the starting of gpsgate? (it would be much appreciated)...

I have GPSGate but i only use it with GPS2GoogleEarth (it requires it after all)...

I normally use Destinator without GPSGate running, so in my case GPSGate would start without me wanting this to happen...

It's not a big problem anyways... :)

Hello guys.
I have made a skin for Destinator 7, in which all road categories are visible.
(The road categories are 6, however in Standard skin the colours are 4. This results to roads of categories 2 and 3, as well as 4 and 5, being confused with each other. My skin, solves this problem, displaying each road category with a different colour.)

One thing that i have discovered about this version of destinator is that it is very CPU dependent.
I used the exact same copy of Destinator on a HTC 3600 and a HTC 3300,on the 3300 the light went out after about 3 minutes and the whole navigation was very jerky,on the 3600 everything was fine ,the light stayed on and the map scrolling was very smooth.
On both however i got the message about destination being inacsessible by car.

Download the pointers of your car (.png) that you have chosen.
Copy and paste them (overwrite) to folder destinatorapps/destinator/skin/all or whichever skin you use.
There are also walker pointers.

hi guys, I installed destinator 7 in my qtek 9100 (I haven't bought the gps bluetooth yet) and when it is in "Vehicle mode" i cannot choose a route, the destination point.it says "Origin or destination points cannot be reached by vehicle. Please change origin or destination point."
(translation in greek:
otan paw na orisw simeio proorismou mou vgazei "i afaitiria i o proorismos einai mi prosvasima! allakste afetiria i proorismo")

Guys, I figured out the problem with the error "Origin or destination points cannot be reached by vehicle. Please change origin or destination point." on my Mio P550 (hope this is a universal reason).

Have you noticed that this happens soon after you boot Destinator or power-on the device? It happened to me twice this weekend going to Loutraki and I realised that it HAS to be a bug with the GPS positioning, at the moment. I explain:

When you power-on the device or boot destinator, it may take a while to find your GPS location. Sometimes it fires up immediately, because I have read someplace that the last GPS data is cached somewhere (it was on Mio's FAQ pages). On both occasions the error appeared, I entered my destination address without leaving the device work for a couple of minutes with my GPS location/point on the map. After the error appeared, I let it for a few seconds, and try again the address and it worked.

So let's try to pindown the error. Can you please confirm this error appears soon after the GPS is on or Destinator is on? I am sure it has to do with the fact that Destinator can't find your current GPS location on the map -regardless of the display- that's why this error appears.

Please confirm...

Konsti you are right.. yesterday my Qtek did the same thing.. and i stoped to re enter the destination.. the first you get the error .. but the second time you enter it.. it's ok..

And something else.. is there any skin available to change because i want the Bubble with The NEXT TURN to be in the TOP of the page and not in the Bottom

Hi there! I have a Mio A701 with Destinator 7 installed and it works really well... There are some times that you can see the screen trying to refresh the map and it freezes for a while but it is for some milliseconds only :) The navigation is really good and with no problems.

I'm using Dest 6.1 with the latest Greek map and copy paste to SD CARD and it is just fine!!

my friend many of us running dest 7 have some small problems when we will be ready having a no bug <<version>> then i will be the first to upload what you ask

that was the same way i first used dest 6 thanks to katerini and johner and i know that it is much more easy for all beginners
please be pacent you and all beginers friends don't want to take something that has problems.

of course i speak only for me if someone else has a clean good warking copy then please do upload it

i have the same problem each time i try to set a route.
DESTINATOR 7 SUCKS

i allready have say thanks to karagiozis and johner for all the great work they have done
the problem i have is not their problem is destinators company problem.
i know this might be a beta version but i m sure that the final version will be full of bugs on my devise.just like all the other versions of destinator 6.
i know that i didnt pay for the copy ...
but what if i might pay?
there will be the same bugs just like many people i know that bought this aplication...(destinator pn and 6)
so i wont buy it unless there will be a really good working version .

I have request another solution for the StartDestinator7,
Now there is a config file (Config.txt) that configs the application
what to do. So, ther is now an option to tell the application what to
do and where is the paths of the files.
After install, you can edit and change it as you like.

Guys, I think this is not a place for political correctness or incorrectness, unless someone is very impolite, I don't think we should "pull the string" (as they say in Greek) or keep recycling this statement... although I am Greek, I think we need to keep some neutrality on this international forum...

I definitely agree. I am Greek too, but Istanbul is a city of Turkey, as far as I know. So the Turks can call it with any name they want. Constantinoupolis is a greek word, do we have the demand from the Turks to speak in greek?

If you wish to remove the battery and satellite icons from your display (not really necessary) then go to the skin you're using (e.g. Detailed by terrestrial) and REMARK with // the following lines that start with:

Hasn't anyone noticed it's too blue around the white box (with the cursor) that prompts to bad cropping? I opened Destinator_WAlpha.png at position 0, 302 where you find this white icon with blue background. I deleted the blue (turns to gray) but on Destinator, when moved back to the skin folder, it becomes white instead of transparent! Any help?

I just downloaded the file and I assure you that it decompresses on the whole! I used 7zip for the job.

Perhaps you’re doing something wrong, like opening test.rar, selecting crack.rar and decompressing just the selected file. By the way, note that crack.rar, is not needed.

Try by right-clicking on test.rar and select “extract all” or “extract to” instead of opening it. Remember to enter the password.

It would take a lot of time because every element on the screen needs to be repositioned. Moreover, I don't have a PDA with a VGA screen to test it.

Someone with such a PDA could try to make it by modifying Destinator.inf and menu.ini.

Special thnx to Johner, Karagiosis and Terrestrial for their hard work and the effort they've put in this project. Working, or non-working applications, it doesn't matter. It's not-paid for after all.

Hello guys.
This is a newer version of the greek-latin keyboard. I added a CAPS LOCK key (it is displayed with an arrow facing up or down), for quick change between capitals and small letters.

And an update of my skin.

1) I changed the colours of the cursor, for better visibility.
2) I changed the colour of the text in the status and navigation bar to black (for the day) and white (for the night), for better visibility.
3) I removed the transparency of the POIs icons in 2D night view, because some of them were not visible enough on the black background. The icons remain transparent in day view.
4) I changed the colours of the navigation line in pedestrian mode.

Yes, i agree its not a solution, i just wanted to mension the fact that if it works that way then its not a gps fixing problem from dest. It must be something else, a bug at vehicle mode only.

If someone has found a solution please post it.

Sorry if posting in the wrong place but i'm bit in a hurry!!(must work you see)
I'm looking for a program that can show me where the 4 points of the horizon are using the internal GPS Antenna!!(for example turn on one side and show that north is that way, turn the other side and show that south is there, something like that!!)
Is there any utill for that???My device is MioA701

Previous map is Greece E ngi 2006.q3 v.576. Dest7 works smooth with that version.

When i load map Greece U ngi 2007.q2 v.1132 dest7 is completely useless...

i am confused. Latest map v1132 works FINE at dest PN

I have 3 pda's so i did various test and come up with the following:

Dest7 wm5 with latest map = cannot calculate route
Dest7 wm5 with previous map = works smoothly

Dest6 wm5 with latest map = cannot calculate route

DestPN wm2003 with latest map = works smoothy (some mod needed)

Dest7 wm2003 wih latest map = cannot calulate route
Dest7 wm2003 with previous map = works smoothly

Are you using GPS Gate?
in my HTC3300 (without gps gate) it finds signal (without ever loosing it)

tried Q3 map (4503 ver not 576!) doesn't work on my HTC3300 :axe:

Just open two folders each one with old and new map version.
Compare the 2 folders and you will realize that new map has less files. Just copy the different files that are missing from old map to the new so as the 2 folders look identical (same number and names of files - not size). then use the new map in pn.
It works fine

UPDATE.
the modification to work latest map to destPN is different. I will inform you when i will have the right procedure.

A friend of mine was send me a copy of Dest 7 that is already complete to copy in the memory card, so I share it with you.

It don't need activation!!!

My friend is using the Dest 7 in his Qtek device, without problems.

I still have the same problem (Origin or destination points cannot be reached by vehicle. Please change origin or destination point) in my N-560. :cry::cry:
I think it make conflicts with some other Gps program. :idea:

I have used the file that was uploaded by our friend and added the latest Greek Map, on my HTC P3600, with WM6 and 2 Gb Transcend card. The problem of destination and departure not accesible by vehicle is apparent to me too, although I realised if I ask the same destination twice (from the recent locations), it will calculate. At the beginning the map has a problem on fixing you on the correct location, but later it goes allright. Another problem I discovered is that it hates Attiki Odo, it does not let you go through it and once your are in, it gives you direction to go out and take another route. Also for some strange reason it recalculates all the time even if you are in a straight road that will take you directly to your destination. Driving for example on Attiki Odo, it was recalculating and often it was placing my outside the main road and on some side roads...for no reason. The greek voices have some funny tone, i.e. the woman seems to be laughing when she gives directions and the way she speaks appear to be line an airline hostess. Also when you have to exit somewhere it said defteros exodos instead of defteri exodos. Finally it does not have many POIS like the previous maps, which is a little bit of a nuisance.

Generally the interface is better and the fact that you can adjust the volume is awesome. I did not experience any problem with switching off the screen like other people have mentioned. I believe that still needs some work but it will be there soon.

As far as it concerns the latest map for Greece, I have the impression that also needs some work, cause, similar problems of destination and departure points not accessible , or sudden recalculations I experienced also in Destinator 6, with this last map. Personally, I will use the older greek map with dest 6, untill things will smoothen out.

You have the toll roads avoidance on (it is on by default), that's why it "hates" Attiki Odos. Turn it off and it will love it. :lol:

You will find the full list of POIs if you press the bottom-right button on the POIs screen. ;)

And you were absolutely right...I also like the additional options that it has so when you travel, you can actually avoid to take you through roads with gravel instead of tarmac. Will give it a try later with the older map to see how it performs...

SOLUTION: When the gps has found the sign of the satellites DO NOT press navigation to. Put the arrow to the nearest street of you -then the arrow moves slightly and stays on the street- and now you can press navigation to.

Find a free version of a very usefull program for dealing with pois for both Dest6 and Dest7 HERE (http://gpspocketpc.gr/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=574). The program is in greek version only.

It has an internal procedure (e-poi) for automatic updating of all your greek pois by just one click. Enjoy !

I thought so ;) You could have said that earlier! Indeed, you are right. Once the system has a definitive fix on the location, THEN you can enter the destination address... Dumb but it's a temporary solution.

Some more testing to report....

Destinator 7, WM6, GreeceU-Q3-2006 i.e. the previous greek map, still has the destination not accessible by vehicle problem, but not as often
Destinator 6, WM6, GreeceU-2007 map, also has the problem with destination point not accessible.
Destinator 7 - limited POIS, how can I transfer my old POIS to the new destinator???
Destinator 7 - English voices, Greek writing, awesome, also old greek voices very good.
Destinator 7 - Does not appear the road you are in on the top of the page...

Slowly it gets better and better I think

The POIs are all there. But you should press the "Next" button (bottom-right) on the POIs screen, to see them.

The manoeuvre bar is located at the bottom of the screen. However, you can put it at the top or wherever you like, by changing some values in Destinator.inf. Personally, I prefer it at the bottom, since there is more space for the map ahead of you.

Well for the POIS at least the version that I used, for example it does not have the reastaurants or the SEA Mesogeion at Attiki Odos. Also for the top bar, what I mean is that on the destinator 6, it was stating the next turn, (now it is at the bottom), but at the bottom, it was stating the road you are currently driving onto, so you knew at least where you are, something that no longer existis....

Also I have experienced something else, the keyboards are only in capital letters, Why???

The status bar (displaying the current road) is still there (at the bottom, under the manoeuvre bar). It is strange that you don't see it. :?

I insist. The POIs are all there. You can find SEA Mesogeion, for example, in "Car Services/Rest Areas".

My friend terrestial I am sorry....you made me feel totally stupid.... You were absolutely right, all I had to do was to press this buttom and everything was there, I have also installed your keyboard and your latest skin. As for the current road information, I did not remember that actually I have to press on the bar a couple of times to show me the current road, otherwise it shows, distance left and time remaining to destination.

However, this is something that I don't like either (the default view for the status bar being the speed instead of the current road). There should be an option for the user to choose. It even reverts back to the default view (speed) when it loses the GPS signal instantly, or when you define a destination. This is certainly a bug, that should be fixed.

I am having some trouble with D7. It is goofing up my PPC date and time. If I select NMEA protocol, there is error of 30 minutes (minus) and if I select SirFF protocol, then it downloads some random date and time.

Is there any way to correct this or disable date time update all together.

Hey all.

I need a little help.
I install the dest7 without instal some previews dest (etc 6 or 6.1)
I install the map and the destcore.dll.
I try to run the dest7 and the first icon who can see is the language settings.
Make all the settings who ask me and become there who asking me to give him settings for quick Nav.
OK...i give him the addres and i push GO (MET) when i see the map.
In that momment he put me out from the program
Whats wrong?:cry:

You can't move the poi, they are inside the map. When you copy the map to dest 7 the poi will be there..

This is a very usual problem.. Don't try to make an adress from your room, go out to the street. If you still have a problem, move a little with your car before you give an adress. It's a bug of the beta version, i hope they fix it

i have mio 701 gps and i have some problems with dest 7
1) my monitor goes to stand by after 1 minute (i don't want to put the charger on every time when i use navigation in my car)
2) when i hit GO it sais points of start and desnination not reached by car.

The first is a common problem for Dest 7.The only thing you can do is adjust your PDA to stay on permanently.

I have installed Dest 7 on about 15 PPC's and only a Mio P350 gave me this problem.I hard reseted the device,reinstalled it and everything was perfect.
