Does anyone know if there is a app out for a P990i that can boost the volume up?
I keep on missing calls because I am not hearing the ringtones.
I have the volume set as high as I can set it (or so I think)
I say that because I only have this P990i for 2 days now.

Anyway is there an app available or advise?

I have in my past PDA days worked with the Palm OS, WM5 or windows mobile Os, and with all I have found that there are applications out there that offer tweaks.
Changing standard options like icons filing order, font style changes, organizing, etc.

Is there anything like that offered for Symbian OS?

I am VERY new at this OS and have just a week ago purchased a P990i, so now that I am getting a little familiar with it, have been looking for apps that offer one to make any to all changes and have not found many...

Like in Windows you have TWEAK which offers one MANY options to change the appearance operation of windows.

Unfortunately while others asked for feedback as to what he did to do so he has not responded.

Well first I want you to know that I did search the forum and had found a few threads that spoke to my question.
Unfortunately they were either VERY old, or dormant, and since no one responded to the other threads / persons question even though they are related to mine, I was hoping that I might at this time find someone who is willing to share the requested info new this new thread.
As you can see I attached to my thread is a link where this question has already been asked in fact the reason it was asked was because someone had shared that it could actually be done, and proved it via sharing his picture of the icons on his display.
Unfortunately as stated earlier there was no reply when asked how to do.
Maybe you can share and answer since you are a Moderator, so all can be educated and keep to the reason why Forums were created to begin with.
Again I mean not to disrespect the rules or anyone here I just want to learn the how to’s.
If you think that I may be trying to boost my post #’s well, PLEASE feel free to take me back to 0 posts I just want to learn about this P990i and hopefully while they are still a usable product.

I knew that only on m600 w950 you could change the icons, but maybe someone managed to change em on p990 also

try selecting an icon with the jog dial, then tap more,replace and choose from a list of app,if you want to change shortcut, or edit if you want to change picture, then browse for the picture. it doesn't matter in which folder the pictures are located. and it must be .png ..

I wasn't upset but you missed my point.
i just want to know how to change the icons where to get new icons etc.
I thought you would be able to give me that info since you were a moderator.

Moderator have much knowledge to share thats why they are asked to become moderator's.

I have found that my tasks are not all syncing with my P990i.

I have 5 tasks created in Outlook 2003, and only 2 have synced over to my P990i.
I am looking for an options screen either on my PC or P990i but to date have not found any options as to what sync's and what does not.

So far the only category that syncs is Auto.
I have a Personal, Business etc. and they just sit in Outlook and are not present on the phone..

Also is there a setting that will let me set how long appointments remain on the phone?
At this point they get deleted after a month.

Thanks upgraded software yesterday.
Ringtones are slightly louder but my problem is I just dont hear them.

Well its been about a week now since I've been introduced to the world of Symbian UIQ3...

I must say I have used, own, etc., MANY, MANY, different types of phones, from the Moto craze, Samsungs, HTC, Nokia's, and others.
GSM service providers to Nextel the IDEN network (No CDMA providers though maybe thats next but they have such a superiority attitude).
I have had Smartphones with Windows Os's, Palm OS's and now a P990i Symbian OS.
I recently (a week ago) migrated over from a Treo 650 to this very (SLOW but)interesting P990i.
I LOVE change, and the challenges of new unknown experience, always have, always will.

But 2 things that I have learned so far:
1. I find that the volume of software, and seemingly lack of interest / attention to apps, are VERY limited with respect to the Symbian UIQ3 OS, and it seems no one (companies) cares much about it.

Maybe its me, maybe I am just looking the wrong places???

2. I have posted in MANY different forums over the years, and the GROSS amount of knowledge that is offered / shared amazes me to no end.
As I shared above I have Smartphones, Treo's, Moto data devices, and yes a Blackberry, which seems to have now become my portable laptop for work...

Never in my past forum hopping life have I found a OS environment that doesn't seem to want to help someone with questions.
I have posted about 7 threads here so far and yes most if not all probably appear like newbie questions about this OS.
To date I maybe have received 2, 3, replies. (Thank You to those who have extended themselves to sharing)
Is it that you are, as appears to be the OS software, few and far between so there is really no on out there?
Is it that you dont care and when you learn something, tough on everyone else?
I just dont understand...
I have always come to these forums excited to know that I would be learning something from the simplest, to the something that I would never have thought could be done...

As you can probably see I am not the youngest, and have not been raised by this technological age, all that I know have come from the sharing of knowledge...

I did read the rules but not intently since I am involved with so many forums in my years.
It was always my understanding that ALL forums have one basic one though...

I can do that but once a person reads a thread and thinks that they have an understanding as to what the threads direction is they normally dont return unless they posted and get a email notification...
A bit counter productive and maybe why not many ppl post or generate dialog here.

I did not understand your direction which is why I asked again.

I would like to change a icon of a app AquaCalender which can only bee seen with the phone open. I cant find a more option.

I urge you to read the rules, and if there's a sentence or word you don't understand you can pm and will try to explain it to you. After reading , you'll see you've broken 3-4 rules that could easily get you banned ...

The answer you gave him only works with M600 and W950 , NOT on P990.
