update to my previous post.. the new version on N95 is fantastic! definitely worth looking at and prob less buggy than R66!! good thing about this version is that they have fixed up the search on the aus map, so it now comes up with proper finds. it also looks way prettier too.

if you wanna try and delete the maps.. first backup the folder called cities in your memory card.

Just updated via the homepage of Smart2Go...and it says v3 w12 b02, is this the correct update?

I have discovered a bug at least in my phone.
When choosing plan a route-option, as the destination you choose the earlier searches you have made, if you instead of scrolling down, scroll up to get to the end of the list, the phone reboots, every time!
I don't know if you could understand what I mean...but it's very strange!

I was wondering when will be offical Nokia maps voice navigation software cracked so that there won't be necessary to buy licence. Any info?

And by the way, Navigon Mobile Navigation for N95 internal GPS will be out at the end of july or at the beginning of august.

I dont know if this info might be of help to some of you, that i came across in the nokia forum.

As Nokia Maps is a core application on N95, any updates to software will be taken care of via phone firmware updates in due course.

... "Please note that you must not reinstall Nokia Maps if the application was already preinstalled on your phone."

You will see that this version is Nokia Maps 1.0 pre-launch and is now available for use with the N70 S60 2nd edition which Smart2go never was.

What are the settings for FOTA on the N95 in the device-manager?

I don't really like the new maps app... it seems so much slower and laggier than before. It's painful to just browse around London maps and zooming in/out is just as bad as before or even worse!! When I'm navigating it updates my position about once every 1 second and lag-pulls itself over. It used to have a little smoother animation...

Gonna stick with Route 66 using the internal N95 gps for now... so much smoother tracking!

It's been announced nearly everywhere that this app is been updated so I guess many people are hitting the site. Try in late hours ;)

In theory, you can probably hack this SIS file for the N95 to get the Navigation going. The SIS file actually installs a lot of the Navigational functions (whereas the old version on the phone does not and requires a separate download anyway after you pay).

For this SIS file however, the navigation function is already there and you just need to go onto the internet and get a special key file to "unlock" the navigation functions.

Downloaded from smart2go nokia's website the version for N73, N93i - works perfectly on E50 - took forever to install though. The name of the file is:

I'm wondering if there is a free 3-day trial of the voice navigation, what changes in 3 days for the software to know its 'trial' period has expired? find that, and you've got your "crack"... voice navigation that doesn't expire. At least, thats my opinion?

The funny part is ...i installed the above update on my N95...it installs successfully ...but i see no difference in my nokia maps applications. Its still the same as before(v3.0) and ...the strangest thing is the application doesnt appear in the application manager list...so u cant uninstall it either. So the question is

...what does the update do ??

This is for the 1st time you use it? Coz you have to use it once before you can upload maps. ;)

For me with my N95 it helped to restart the phone, now I have the new version that looks much nicer!!! :-)

You need to install it into the main phone memory - and NOT the memory card. This is because it updates the original Nokia Maps that is installed on the main phone memory!

i have installed the nokia maps in the phone memory, as i did before with the old version, but with the old version i installed the downloaded maps on in the memory card but i have already erased them.. so right now i have installed the maps in the phone memory but with now maps since i dont get the maps tap in the map loader... wtf? =)

Well.. as u can see Indonesia is now being deleted from the MAP list. :(

SAD day indeed cause I'm hoping that our map will be available in the future. Instead it got erased...

Installed and used on my N93i and works like a charm, its better than ever, faster than before and maps r very clear+ added benefit of voice guidance. if someone having trouble downloading it or it gets hang when u start program, make sure u delete the previous version of smart 2 go and maps then install the new version of both map uploader( pc software) n nokia maps( mobile software). doesnt matter where u install it memory card or phone memory,( i prefer memory card , it won't make phone slow) enjoy this prog..

wow, it downloads maps so much faster, took almost two hours on the old version to download the united kingdom map.
took five minutes to download on the new version. now it's saving. took only five minutes too.

Hi PapaDocta, I installed the version that you just uploaded. When i tried to download and store the map for india, it said that the mass storage device wasent detected and wanted me to connect the phone in Mass storage or insert the memory card in the card reader. i had selected the mass storage after connecting the usb cable and when i tried to use the Mapsloader 1.1 version it detected the memory card fine and also let me download and install the voice for English U.K(2.7Mb).However the newer version as we all know does not have the maps for India. So is there any way to get the maps for India. I want India specifically as I am living in India and it would make sense to have the map and guide for the country where you are presently. Also how do i use the voice function once i download it on my handset. i am using a N95(firmware V12 apac)

and this one can be found in the official european website
