youtube uses flash video (*.flv) for its content. Currently, there are no versions of macromedia flash, (or flash lite for that matter) for the p990i.

So i guess we'll all have to wait...

Unless there's a version of TCPMP for UIQ3 then we could use its flv plugin to view predownloaded youtube content...

I hope this helps.

yes but how come some can play it on their P990i?Same problem, too. I bought this device so I will be able to watch video streaming via WLAN, and if this theory is true, then I guess it's like a gunshot on me =(

It isn't a true. If you are in 3G mode you can watch movies from youtube. Somebody told that it depends from flash app for UIQ3 but it's false.
If you dont belive me - I can record movie with youtube mobile on the screen :]

Use GOOGLE and/or SEARCH before even THINKING someone is wrong.

frost_icew I don't have to use SEARCH ;) Did you ever open m.youtube in 3G Mode? no? so why you're thinking that I'm wrong? ;) I opened movies from m.youtube many times, but only in 3G mode... So... don't say that I'm wrong becouse I'm not ;) Chceck it by your self.

frost_icew you are right for www.youtube.com, they need flash player alright.

but in m.youtube.com, it is intended for mobile devices, the movie format is 3GP, which is common in various mobile devices nowadays.

Forgive me, i must have misunderstood. from now on let's use www.youtube.com and m.youtube.com to refer to the sites separately, so as to avoid further confusion. :partyman:

Anyway, you CAN in fact watch movies on m.youtube.com since it uses a different video format (*.3gp) so i guess this puts this to rest.

To watch *.flv videos though... we need either:

a) a flash plugin for opera 8.65(the default browser for p990i)
b)TCPMP + flv plugin
c)A different solution.

Any ideas people? :friends:

P.S. i am on 3G mode almost all the time. Hence, my incredibly large bill... the Philippines needs more hotspots...

So far, P990i doesn't support flash player file. *.flv, so we can not view youtube in this device .

Youtube has high level of compresion movies. When click link to watch your movie write behind link: "&fmt=18". Now you watch other types of files movies. It can be works.
