Nokia Live Messenger *OFFICIAL*

You can sync HotMail too. :)

The official Windows Live Client v1.0.614 integrates Windows Live Hotmail, Live Contacts, Live Search, Live Spaces and Live Messenger on all of the Nokia S60 N-Series and E-Series (and yes, that includes the überdevice, the N95). Some of its features:

- Synchronize Hotmail/MSN email and contacts with your mobile phone.
- Add a personal status message.
- Send and receive files images, sound clips and voice clips.
- Play voice clips sent by others.
- Phone vibration when someone sends a buzz/nudge.
- Sort contacts by online status/display name.

NOTE: Install dep.sisx before the other file.

Finally!

It works on my E61i. +rep.

Not to be ungreatful or anything but I thought the current version has vibration alert. I do appreciate that fact that it allows your hotmail email to synch with your phone & ppl can see your MSN avatar & personal message like on WLM. Can even send files, images & voice clips!

try to install just winlive....if it doesn't work...look for dep.sis in your application manager, remove it, and than install this new one... ;)

the text document that was with the application explains how to install:
Install in this order:
1. dep.sisx,
2. WindowsLive_S60_3_0_v_1_0_6141_Signed.sis.

and like nexass says, look for dep.sisx (tools>file manager>options>find)
you may also try installing to phone memory and not memory card-have noticed that some applications won't run when saved on memory card.
the n80 does have some litle ticks...

On my N95 it works like a charm. Vibration and everything. The first time i logged in on my msn account it was VERY slow but after that it logs in faster than im+.

Only problem is i get the same error everytime.
"Messenger is not available right now Please try later."
I've installed in the order the instructions said restarted my phone and im in a full 3g signal area. Since i changed from o2 to 3UK network i cant get any messengers to work.

Has anyone got This App to working on the 3 network?

Ok, the tip is go to email boxes, and you will see a new account "windows live" you must syncrhonise first that account to setup the app. but in terms and conditions yopu will see that is a free trial, then once signed you can run live messenger.

My friend also read that its trial though i was too eager to install so didnt read terms and conditions. Do we know yes the price of the app or if its just the hotmail access thats a trial and the windows live not a trial or what??

Contacts loads very fast on mine to, actually a bit faster than Agile... Strange issue indeed that it loads slowly on some devices and fast on other devices which are the same phone model.

Almost sounds like operator issues to me, I may be wrong though...

I just tested this idea on three different operators(Sonera,Saunalahti,DNA) and three phones (N95,N80,N93i). Works just fine and my friends N80 loads contacts a bit faster than my N95:shock:.

I'm using my N95 through the Three network in Australia - so its possible they have some issues with their network at the moment. They support HSDPA, but it seems the Planet 3 and Mobile Internet options for connection had issues.

Could there be something else in settings that should be checked??

I believe this is sort of a pilot test... Maybe it's up to microsoft if they're gonna charge for it or not in the future!? It seems to be exactly the same Live Messenger as they're shipping with their Windows Mobile devices.

Check out this screenshot which is from a Windows Mobile device, the HTC S710 "Vox":

Since I've not owned a WinMobile device myself I have no clue if they charge for this app or not...

So... I think is a trial app.

If you have a huge contact list, it will take longer to load.

I have 2 messenger acconuts, one with only 10 contacts and one with hundreds of contacts. The one with hundreds of contacts took LONG to load.

Nokia have confirmed that this is a pilot test... They are investigating how popular this service is... If anybody (probably microsoft) are going to start charging for this app is afaik still unknown, but I guess the hotmail sync won't stay free forever since even hotmail pop3 access isn't free.

Let's hope the Messenger will stay free... I can't see why they would start charging for an app that already ships with a lot of windows mobile devices already. To me it would be as crazy as starting to charge for our Windows Live Messengers in our PC's.

Having a crap phone as I do (E62) that can't handle more than a half a thing at a time, I was wondering if there was a way to make the messenger reconnect after my crappy phone disconnects it.

I don't see an auto-reconnect button anywhere. The problem is that my flop of a phone does nothing to tell me that my messenger has been disconnect for the past 2 hours and people start calling me wondering whats up !!

Any thoughts ?

Ps. To be very clear, the problem is my useless phone and NOT this amazing application !!! :)

u have to end internet connection, not msn connection...! go to Connection Manager, end connection, return on live messenger and it should reconnct and work well... ;)

Today i have flashed my phone to latest FW. Tried to install it once again i got the error with dep.sisx. I only installed WindowsLive and the app just wont start. I have tried to synchronize but it failed due to a not "hotmail.com" mail. But why did it work the first time?

any clues?

More eyecandy than in Agilemessenger, but i definitely still like Agile more (save history, export history, show timestamp etc.)

Your welcome mate. I noticed many things dont work. Pilot or beta are synonyms in this case. You cannot send e-mail using your Live Mailbox. You cannot set it up to download on its own, cannot forward.......the list is long and distinguished :P.

I like to correct that i have the sound already. but it's only when you are not in the application. means u go in menu or main screen. and when u are out of application, u can see at the corner of the screen a small msn icon just beside battery. this is so cool!!

use a program called Winrar (search the forum and you will find a full version) and then use it to unrar the file and transfer the sis file to your phone and install..

anyone else got this problem. When i am typing and the other person replies, it deletes letter or even the complete last word i typed. Also another bug is after you have been having a conversation for a bit, suddenly the cursur movies to the top of the start of the conversation and you have to scroll right to the bottom to see any replies and have to keep continuining to do so. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem or tell me if i am perhaps doing something incorrect. I am using n95.

working perfecctly since the time I have installed the application on my E-61. In between there was a problem in singing in but its working fine now. sometimes because of a slow GPRS connection it gets difficult to sign in.

My flaming piece of crap nokia e62 does not have wifi and the phone itself is too slow to support wifi. I use the slow edge gprs. My windows live stopped working out of the blue. This is my last nokia ever and i cant wait to take the hammer to this poor excuse of a phone

I deleted then reinstalled and it won't sign in anymore. How could something that was working 100% just stop working all of the sudden. My phone is 100% the same as it was when the messenger worked perfectly.

I hate Nokia crap and I can't wait to upgrade to my HTC Shift.

ok i have a problem when i do a fresh instal i can even synchronize my hotmail account on the nokia but after a few days this option isnt available anymore

unless i uninstall the program and then reinstall it

Yes you are right !! I just signed in on one of my "hotmail" accounts but none of my "msn" accounts will work.

I wonder who screwed with it ?? Not too bright.

i am able to sign in by using a wi fi connection but its not happening with a gprs connection. May be the application was made for some specific country and it can be checked through the ip address of your connection doesn't let u sign in. Same stuff that happened with messenger avialable on the hong kong site. It worked for sometime and later completely stopped.

I CAN connect with a "Hotmail" ID but I CAN'T connect with an "MSN" ID. That is completely different than what you are experiencing (wifi versus gprs).

Program worked like a charm on N80 but after 5 days, it sort of die on me.
Now clicking on the app will not start the app and it just hung the phone!
Anyone experiencing that?
I need help on the removing this app and re-installing this app.
Whether the app will work after re-installing.
I know how to remove this app through the app manager and installing using the pc suite.
Anyone to advise on the workability of this software?

Yup the app will work once you re-install it.
A tip for you. To remove the app just go over it and press the button "C" the delete button and that will remove the app from it. Its faster coz when you open app manager it takes long as it builds the list of all the apps installed. :) Enjoy. :)

Excellent application man, rep for you! Very useful.Thank you.

But just a question. When you are typing a message, and the person you are chatting to sends you a message, it deletes what ever you have written before sending! Is there anyway to stop this?

Haha... I find that annoying too!!! Now, to solve this problem, I type faster before the other party respond to my message... pls let me know if you find the solution to this problem too...

I VE GOT NEWS.The reason WLM isn t working is the SIM that Vodafone and some other companies (probably Vodafone s associates like THREE) use. iT contains some certificates that do not allow WLM to connect.Been doing some reaserch and here in Greece putting a different SIM in the phone fixes the problem.P.s the certificates are Built-in SIM and cannot be deleted .Rumors say that opera mini is about to stop working after some time in the same SIM phones due to the same reason.GJ VODI! (well, not so...)

I got random reboots after I installed Live Messenger... I have a N82 but I also have over 2000 messages in my inbox. :) Anyone experienced that? I've re-installed it now and chosen NOT to synchronise with my inbox. I'll see if I still get the reboots

it works on n78, but without dep.sisx installed,
cuz dep.sisx can't be installed in n78(certificate error)

i only installed WindowsLive_S60_3_0_v_1_0_6141_Signed.sis and it works. :)
