I'm also a bit confused...the last time there was an upgrade, we installed it over the old one and voila, there is the new one.
I tried looking at the website for Nokia Maps, but didn't see anything about a new version...and the newest version of Maploader is 1.1, and it's been out for some weeks now...

At least it's not called Smart2Go anymore, it's called NokiaMaps.. and to install it you have to remove the old version from your phone. I'm not sure if this is only a name change, but it might be some optimized code (difference in size is pretty significant).

you have to pay for live navigation. In the previous nokia maps post i explain that nokia have now taken over the smart2go application and that the smart2go site now only lists the beta version which is available for the 0s8 and lower versions.

I know I have to pay and that really sucks...
It's not logical to give you the program for free and pay just for a voice reading you the directions!!!!

why isn't it working on my n95? i have installed smrt2go on my PC, and when i try to run nokia map loader, it just says, that no storage "thing" is detected, and i should try again.. but i have my n95 connected via USB :s

You must have a memorycard in your phone aswell!

@bb4 you must run the app once in your phone before using map loader. I think it is so that the phone can create the necessary folders. The same happoened to me and that resolved the situation.

hi - anyone has any luck getting the 'city guides' in Nokia Maps?

everytime when I tried to click on 'list of city guides', it will crash my phone .. I never get to the stage where I get to see what city guide I can buy.

I have figured out why it was keeps saying no device storage or device deleted, when connecting the phone to the computer via USB I was selecting Nokia pc suite and it wasn't detecting the memory card in the phone. But I select storage device this time and map loader start loading the map first time.

Where does this Nokia Maps store the landmarks info? I've upgraded my firmware to V 12.0.013 and lost all my landmarks.

Eventhough I've backed up the data before I upgraded, I do not want to restore from the backup because I dont need some of the programs in the backup.

Do you know where exactly i.e. in which folder the landmarks are stored on the card? What filenames or file extensions? I've copied everything from the card to my backup drive.

your RAR files on page 1 contains these files :

Nokia_Map_Loader_1_1g_Setup.exe.001
and
Nokia_Map_Loader_1_1g_Setup.exe.002

that's a 001 and 002 files, I can't find any exe file... what should i do with that kind of files, my winrar can't read them...!

I can confirm that the problem appeared ONLY with this version of Maploader.
With previous versions the same card was working perfectly.

I want that function but without upgrading my firmware. Would it suffice to install this file on my N95 and stay with formware 11?

I cannot risk installing it if it does not have that option because I think that you cannot uninstall it (you have to do a hard reset to go back to the previous version). If somebody already installed on their N95 please post here.

This update does not have the maps for India and i have to see what are the details it gives for Mumbai and it only tells the areas and names of major roads, thats all.Is there anyway to download the maps for India as event he map loader didn't give the option to download maps for India :weedman:

I have install on my N 70 Nokia maps 1,0 (http://mobilesearch.nokia.com/A4160036?maps) and I have download same maps ,Croatia and others, the problem is that when I put all information on I don't receive the GPS position, I men it don star to work , its working only in demo version?.whit the TOM TOM its work perfect. My GPS receiver is Polstar.

The nokia maps installer for N70 is (Nokia_Maps_s60_28.sis) however it does not seem to work with a majority of bluetooth GPSr(s).

Perhaps someone with Nokia's own LD-3W. Mine is a Holux GPSlim236B works with SmartCom GPS but not Nokia Maps.

Funny thing is that S60v3 phone gets (Nokia_Maps_s60_30.sis) and this works with the Holux albeit the lock-on is ridiculuosly flimsy.

My 2 cents....

A-GPS is called assited GPS.. it is using base stn to help locate your location faster(if I am not wrong) anyway anyone figure out the crack or code for the voice navigation?

The voice is free but the navigation is not (unless in your phone the subscription is already included: some providers are selling a version with navigation included).

map loader 1.3 at this moment, working correctly

I've successfully installed this version on my 6120c

for people having problems here's a way to get it works :
1. insert ur card reader to USB slot
2. connect to internet
3. start Nokia Map loader
4. wait for a few seconds then it will Map loader logo then followed by introduction, press ok.
5. Map loader logo will appear for the 2nd time for +/- 30 seconds (checking for the latest Nokia Map version)
6. There will be a notice that u can download the latest nokia map (v1.3) but u can select no (X)
7. see attached image
8. press the > or + sign on the region selection
9. select ur country then press + followed by download
10. download begin
11. after download finish, DONT press the close (X) sign. It will install and close itself when finishes installing on ur MMC.
12. repeat from step 9 for another country map ;)
13. after u finishes downloading just put ur MMC card back to ur phone, turn on & starts ur Nokia Map ;)

enjoy..... :D

For the Map-Error while loading map loader. Solving is easy.

1) Just format your memory card.

2) Open Nokia maps on the N-device BEFORE opening it on the computer.

3) Exit nokia maps and now you can put the nokia maps onto the memory card.

yes u can. Using Maploader from PC. Connect ur phone with ur pc using datacable.
Highlight the current country map u want to delete then click delete/remove map.

Dude, I did the same thing but i cant see any maps that are shown in my phone. All I see is Delete Maps from storage which means DELETING ALL the maps, not deleting individually. =(

Why dont u backup all the maps stored in ur mmc 1st then u can try the delete button? If anything wrong at least u can restoret it again..
Find a folder which name ends with 'cache' in e:/private/. Its a big size folder so u can find it easily,then copy it into ur desired place as a backup.
