Well, I know, this is possibly the wrong thread, forum, whateva...to post this, but I really don't know, what to do or where to post it :P.

I dowloaded the Harry Potter 5 PC Game anywhere in this forum. Here's the link:

What do you see when you extract it?

I made a screenshot of what I'm seeing when I open the folder (there are two of them - cd1 & cd2):

Extract the first rln_hptootp_cd1 then tell us what did you get

well, i did what you said and got almost exactly the same.
i marked the difference red in the new screenshot:

mate, try extracting the extracted file again.. and it would be great if you took the screenshot in detail mode, not thumbnail.

buddy Kians-Angel, actually after extracting (just right click on the first file of the rar-parts and click extract)....it will be extracted to a single folder...actually it shud....there you can find the executable file... for installation :)
just try this...

Yeah, just keep extracting the compressed file until it created a single folder with all the installer files inside or until it created an image file, which usually is a .ISO format.

You have to extract the rar files so you end up with an image file, iso etc, to play downloaded games you need to burn the file to a disc and install that way or use a virtual drive program like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% (it tricks your machine into thinking there is a CD/DVD in a drive!) to install the game, you can find this program by searching google, and its free too. I haven't downloaded the game myself but this is normally what you do, there should also be a no cd crack which you can copy into the folder where the game is installed, you will find this on the "disc" normally (just explore the disc). Any questions, just ask, there'll be plenty of people on ipmart to help!

but I'm a bit confused now. I'm really sorry, it's just that I'm completely new in things like that. That was my first game download and so on..

so, rovers81, you said i have to burn a file on a cd, which one does it have to be?
and, well, there are two folders i got. one for cd1 and one for cd2.

It's not image files. no need for burning to cd. just run setup from cd1. then u will get message to insert ur cd2. then pointing to ur cd2 folders. setup will continue until finish.
if u want archive ur files. that's good u burn it to cd. use nero to burn to cd.

i ran the setup from cd1 and it went right, but there wasn't a message to insert cd2 and the installation finished but failed...
that's the problem I don't know how to solve...maybe any of you knows an answer? would be awesome ;).

Have you try burning all the files in the cd1 folder(excluding the compressed file) into 1 disc and label the disc "cd1", then run the installer from the cd. If it ask 4 disc 2 then direct it to the cd2 directory. If it still fails, throw the cd in the bin :). Never thought installing downloaded games would be this hard, :)
also try moving the cd1 and cd2 folder into one folder. If this also fails then try copying all the files in cd2 into cd1. If this also failed, then i have no idea what else to do. Gud luck m8!
