When you see extension eg. iso.001 after extract from rar by using WinRAR, you have to use hjsplit to join the files eg. 001,002,003. Then burn cd it by using daemon or alcohol 120%

im so computer illiterate admitedly! and i just wanna ask, if i download one of those Windows XP Pro Essentials or whatever, yes i know it would replace my windows XP version, will this also erase my computer settings example the settings for internet connection and all the programs here in my laptop?


Yesterday I downloaded the Windows XP Pro Essential. And its GOOD!!!

It requires a fresh installation. Meaning it will delete all the contents of your Drive C:. It wont affect the other drives / partition drive. Of course, if you want to install windows, it is very much necessary to format the Drive C: and it will erase everything on that drive including the settings. It is worth to try new softwares especially its FREE!

Me, I am not worrying about my files because it is on my other drives and constantly back-ups. What is hard is installing a new Windows and it fails. It will take you much time.

Tip: Before installing windows, it is better to clone your drive/partition with Norton Ghost and save to other drive. By this, it is easy to return your system back if installation fails or you still prefers your previous Windows.

Bro, the XP Universal Image you have posted only contain XPSP2.GHO. It is only the ghost file. It will not automatically install/copy the image to hard drive if dos and ghost is not present at the CD. Am I right? Thanks.

i downloaded all the files of photoshop that nik gave me, now, how to open and install this files? it has a iso01 something on it and i dont understand it. is there a program to extract it? what it is? if there is, can also post the program here? THANKS A LOT!!

Just join the files and now you have the rar file..extract files to get an iso image file..
now you have to use the alcohol 120 to burn this image file to a dvd to make a bootable image ..
just install from that DVD..

There is no virus all it has hapnd is that some registeries have been corrupted..
ths is normal...just have to install windows again and if you do this ,go for sp2 not sp1..
