Starting ChessBuddy™

After starting up ChessBuddy™ on your T720, ChessBuddy™ will set up the board, and do some Yoga in order to prepare for the game. You don't see any of this, it's all done behind the scenes while you are waiting for the game to start up. When ChessBuddy™ is finished with this, you'll see the startup screen appear. Wait until it finished displaying, and you'll be taken to the ChessBuddy™ main menu. This is where you can find most of the commands that we'll talk about in the following sections. Take a good look at the left 'soft button' on your phone's display, where it says "board". You can always use this button to see the chess board, after you did something in the menu. And when you're viewing the board, this same key will say "menu", allowing you to return to the menu whenever you want. Also note that ChessBuddy™ has a built in Instructions feature that you can use whenever you get lost.

Start your first game of chess!

Beginning a new game is not all that complicated: just choose 'New game' from the ChessBuddy™ menu. You'll see the board appear with all the pieces in the starting position. You play with the white pieces; ChessBuddy™ uses the black ones.

Making a move

You always play with the white pieces. Use the navigation key for moving the blinking 'pointer' (a small rectange) around on the board. Move the blinking pointer over the piece you want to move, and press the select button. A rectangle in a different color will indicate the piece you selected. You can always press "0" to deselect, in case you selected the wrong piece by mistake. Now select the square to move to. Of course only legal moves are allowed. After you make your move, the switches at the bottom of the board will turn, indicating who's the next player to move. When ChessBuddy™ is thinking, its move switch will blink green/red. Depending on the level and board position ChessBuddy™ will think longer or shorter before making a move.
Castling

You castle by moving your king two positions to the right or left; the rook will then move automatically. Note that you can castle only when your king is not in check, and the square that the king 'jumps' over is not being attacked.
en-passant captures

When you move a pawn two squares ahead (from the pawn's starting position), and you end up adjacent to one of your opponent's pawns, your opponent can capture the pawn you just moved en-passant. It does this by moving its pawn diagonally to the empty square you just jumped over with your pawn, and then removing your pawn. It must do this immediately following your move; so, it cannot capture your pawn en-passant if it decides to make another move first.
Draw by repetition

If the exact same position is repeated 3 or more times in the game, the player to move can claim a draw.

Changing the level

Use the "Level" option in the menu to change ChessBuddy™'s level of play. You can do this before or during a game. Note that the harder the level, the longer ChessBuddy™ will think before making a move. In level "Pro", this can take up to several minutes! Level "Easy" will generally make moves in less than 10 seconds, but occasionally it will take a little longer. When you first start ChessBuddy™, the playing level is set to "Medium", so this is a good way to start your first game. Note that if you choose a different level, the next time you start up ChessBuddy™, this level will still be selected. Look at the table below to find out how long ChessBuddy™ will think before making a move (these are maximum time estimates: generally, the move will be made more quickly than the table indicates).

Saving and loading games

You can save up to five games, for instance if you want to continue playing at a later time. In order to save a game, use the "Save game" option in the menu. A list will appear, showing you five slots you can save your games in. Select one of them. If you choose a slot that already contains a game, that game will be overwritten by the new one.
You can load a game in much the same way by choosing "Load game" from the ChessBuddy™ menu. You'll see a list with the game slots. Choose one of the games you saved earlier.
Deleting all games

Use the "Trash games" item from the menu to delete all saved games and refresh the database. After selecting that item, you will see a screen asking you for confirmation. Press "DELETE" if you're sure you want to delete all games, or "CANCEL" otherwise. Of course you'll be able to save up to 5 games again after deleting the games.

When the world is in danger, government is corrupted, rogues of all kinds terrorize people and all the hope is lost, who shall stand to protect the humanity? Of course, the four brave turtles and their sensei - humanoid rat. The heroes of Mirage Studios are here with the aid of Overloaded and Micazook Mobile LTD.
The game itself is realized in a cruel and bloody (yet quite comic-styled) beat 'em all genre with slight elements of RPG. You are playing one of the four turtles, who have unique statistics, weapons and abilities. Your objective, as it is made in most platform-kind games, is to reach the final point (sometimes you'll also need to destroy every living being on the level). In every mission one of the turtles is "major", and the second one you can pick manually. You can switch between them whenever you like by pressing right soft key. All the turtles have three primary stats: strength which defines the power of your attacks, health - no comments, and the range of your weapon. For example, Donatello's battle staff is much longer than Michaelangelo's nunchaki, thus he can attack the enemies before they come close enough for them to attack.
Each turtle has a special ability, Leonardo can run very fast (sometimes that's quite useful), Donatello can deflect ranged attacks and Raphael throws deadly missiles. The special attacks use energy you drain from the defeated enemies. If your energy bar is full, you can use super attack - all the enemies on the screen die instantly, it is very useful sometimes

No, they do not work with touchscreen... they are java games built for other phones that work on UIQ3

I got hooked to these game for 3 days. It's like a leisure suit larry and the sims crossover game :) I got tired playing after my character reached the "jetsetter" status. Very funny and you get to score with lotsa girls :D

delete the extansion and rename in jar....easy.
ex : if the game is called 3drally evolution.j2me(240x320.zip erase zip and write jar to become like this 3drally evolution.j2me(240x320.jar

Perhaps its because your file extension is hidden...
You should go to you folder option first (its under tools on the explorer), switch to view tab then you can uncheck "hide extension for known file types"

You should be able to view the right extension and modify them

well it`s not
My file looks like this 3DRallyEvolution.J2ME(240x320).jar and when i click rename is still like this(3DRallyEvolution.J2ME(240x320).jar)...so i don`t have what to delete .and if i copy it to my w950 it says it`s not a known format. :| and if i rename it on my phone: 3DRallyEvolution.J2ME(240x320).jar[1]

when you download, just rename it to whatever you want with an extension of jar then save it as All Files not WinRar Files then install to your phone

its very fast, and fluid.

Hi Deepak, nice post and I am really looking forward to have cricket game on my W950i phone. But the problem is I dont know how to install the game on my phone since it has so many files inside a downloaded file (rar). I observe that all java games has many files inside one game file and I am lost not knowing which file should be used for installation on the phone. Looking forward to your helpful reply. Inside each .rar archive, you will find a file with the extension .jar . The .jar is the file that you want to install. Usually if you download the game say for example The Sims, look for, extract and install The Sims.jar, Hope that helps. :excited:

How do I play Assissins Creed on my w960? I'm unable to move in all 4 directions. I'm only able to move in two directions using the Jog Dial only. Kick and Jump buttons also work. But it's of no use, since I can't move where I want.

Description :
In this game you must guide a rolling robot through different levels of a damaged space station, in order to escape. The robot can move by rolling left or right; there are also some air conditioning fans that lift the robot to reach higher objects. Each of the eight levels has various hazards to avoid, and also some money to collect. There are some transport tubes marked with red arrows that can take the robot to different places in a level. Watch out for the damaged parts of the station – these will burst the robot’s protective skin. If the robot gets very badly damaged it will return to the start of the level and be repaired for another attempt. However, the time will continue to count down. You must complete each level within the time limit by reaching the transport tube that takes the robot to the next level. If you run out of time the level you are on will be destroyed - and you also!

god damn it, took me almost a whole hour to find this particular post, the search feature in this forum needs an upgrade, like a better index or a smarter and more specific search.....

anyway i tried this on my W950i, it works but there's the stupid vibration bug. When u launch the app, there will be a loading screen, when it finishes loading, ur fone will start to vibrate forever, until you exit the app. So far, the only way i've found to stop the vibration from starting is switch to task manager when u launch the app so that it will load in background, and then switch back after a few seconds coz it'll be done loading by then. But if anyone knows an updated version for this, plz tell me.
