Mortyr 2 is a sequel to one of the most significant games of the nineties. Mortyr is not only a well-recognized trademark in the games industry spamide. The original Mortyr™ game was a first modern technology shooter set during World War 2 and has been followed by a series of highly successful games utilizing the similar idea.

Facing defeat, the Nazi forces assemble a covert team of scientists and engineers tasked
with designing and building new weaponry. Now you must step into the shoes of Sven Mortyr--a
British Intelligence officer on a mission to thwart the Nazis' plans and rescue his own father.

Mortyr 2 (PC) | 562 MB
Genre: Sci-Fi First-Person Shooter

It's hard to believe that five years have passed since the original Mortyr came out. It's even harder to believe that after the chilly reception the awful original received half a decade ago, somebody decided to fund, design, program, and release a sequel. Now brace yourself for the really hard to believe part: The result isn't all bad. Let's qualify that. For a game from the same people who brought you such memorable stinkpots as Mortyr and the transcendentally lousy Sniper: Path of Vengeance, Mortyr 2 is actually a semi-competent piece of work. As far as budget-priced shooters go, you could do a lot worse...like choosing any of Mirage Interactive's previous games, for instance.
The one area of the game where you couldn't possibly do any worse, however, is its multiplayer. Mortyr wasn't exactly a powerhouse in this respect, yet the sequel doesn't even live up to its predecessor's meager standard. All one of the multiplayer modes are accessed through a separate desktop launch screen. This brings you to a drab, sad-looking little dialog box where you can choose to host any of the game's measly four deathmatch maps or join a LAN game in progress. You can also connect to an Internet server, assuming you know its IP, that is. In one of the game's rare returns to classic Mortyr "D'oh!" form, there's no built-in server browser, a feature that was pretty standard in even crappy low-budget shooters from the Mortyr 1 era.

Description

The Nazis are on the verge of defeat. Unremitting assault by the Allied Forces
continues to push back the Reich on nearly all fronts. Faced with impending doom,
they have assembled covert teams of scientists and engineers tasked with designing
and building new, experimental weaponry. Elite Allied strike teams remain ready
for rapid deployment into regions infiltrated by ground agents. The safety of the
world rests on the shoulders of these determined, well-trained soldiers. Less than
a few short hours after being signaled by an agent entrenched in Norway, a strike
team of four elite paratroopers land on Norwegian soil. One of these paratroopers
is Sven Mortyr, a British Intelligence officer. Mortyr soon discovers his mission
is to not only thwart the Reich's plans, but to rescue his own father who has been
captured by the Nazi regime and put to work on a covert weapons project.
