It's much better than the crappy NTorch Lite for N73/N80 as the light flashes are VERY VERY BRIGHT!! Try it out for yourself!
Find all the details below in this article:
Key features:
An Actual First-of-its-kind Strobe Light
Higher Intensity LED Illumination
Current Status Notification (via pop-up interface)
Instantaneous Launch
One-Tap Exit (via right softkey)
Compatibility with popular phones, like the N73 and N80 and the N95!
Special Notes:
Note that you need to have Python installed on your phone first. In case you're not familiar with that, follow the steps given below:
Install the Python for S60 interpreter application (PythonForS60_1_4_0_3rdEd.sis) on your phone
Install the script shell (PythonScriptShell_1_4_0_3rdEd.sis)
Send any of the included python scripts (*.py) to e:\Python
Next, run Python from the Menu and select the script you want to run.

Do try it out though...its working perfectly on the N73!
Zeleni Zub 4th September 2007, 21:59 But there is only flashing in sequences no permanent flash light :(
punjabi_munda 4th September 2007, 22:01 But there is only flashing in sequences no permanent flash light :(
Yes, thats how a strobe light functions!
It's still better than the dim light of the NTorch Lite
vengeanc3 4th September 2007, 22:43 great app, just sucks that u have to install python, and i think its flashing because the high intensity LED will burn up if its on too long, thats the reason the torch lite uses a low intensity LED
punjabi_munda 4th September 2007, 23:06 yup, u have a definite point there m8!
Chiller2k 4th September 2007, 23:25 Works on N95 with White LED!
punjabi_munda 5th September 2007, 00:02 That's gr8! All credits to the developer for this amazing app
aristotelhs2060 5th September 2007, 00:20 we can make the flash stay permanently open?
punjabi_munda 5th September 2007, 00:24 Unfortunately no...but it does give very bright, regular pulses every 5 seconds...like a strobe
SiMoGe 5th September 2007, 12:33 it's not possible during permanent light of flash ??
punjabi_munda 5th September 2007, 14:45 No, it isn't possible. Remember, this functions as a Strobe.
Good news is that now we finally have a solution for N95 users...pure white light for illumination!
bAsem 5th September 2007, 17:06 working on n80 .. but why make it on intervals ..??
and wouldnt this damage the led flash .. i think it would burn it up quick
systemofad 5th September 2007, 17:08 works on my 5700...thnx
punjabi_munda 5th September 2007, 18:22 working on n80 .. but why make it on intervals ..??
and wouldnt this damage the led flash .. i think it would burn it up quick
According to the creator of the script/author of The S60 Weblog, this python script functions using the camera hardware -- which means it'll be just like using the camera under normal mode.

leojab 13th December 2007, 07:34 Dont try this on N82.. it is xenon which has smaller life..
This is where LED flash scrores :)
teddyc 14th January 2008, 02:51 Thanks, I' ll try it on my N95.
Philly404 14th January 2008, 05:10 it works.. it's an alright application thanks
aristotelhs2060 14th January 2008, 12:50 i hope that just a single icon app can be made to do that.i mean just open and flash open.no need to open python.like restart one or btswitch.so we can put a shortcut button for this app and immediately open or close flash by a single click.

Cheers mate,

yamadron 20th February 2008, 22:03 I think that application is dangerous if exccesive flashing time of LED flash time is used. Some people may use it to light up for 15 min. The battery life is not the problem. But they will burn up the flash by their hands... What do you think ? Flashes are not designed and manufactured to be torches, so nokia made another flashes for the Video mode like (red in n95, dim white in other nokia phones) as u can use them for a long time. But still n95 flash can be a torch for about 3 sec without any progs :)
prixxx 13th June 2008, 17:02 on my n95 it is only blinking
