I just wanted to start this thread to cover up Video Settings for any Phone, any Format for any Player.
What I am suggesting here is just my Experience and Knowledge and may not be the Best Settings therefore I request Posters to post their own best Video Settings so as to Compare and Test. .and get best out of it :D
To Start With AVI(Audio Video Interleaved Container) Videos for Symbian Devices.
To be Played in The Core Pocket Media Player ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) or Smartmovie Player by LonelyCat Games.
GUIDE for AVI Videos:
1.
1. Just View the Source Information like Dimensions, Frame Rate etc.
2. Set Zoom according to ur Needs Here. You can also look here to Adjust Zoom for Subtitles.
3. Take a look at the Codec u will use Soon :D for Encoding i.e XVID Mpeg 4 Codec.
2.
1. Press Configure
2. Select XVID MPEG-4 Codec.
3.

5.
1. Take a Look at the Source again as to get Best results u shouldn't have Dimensions, etc higher than Source.
2. Reduce Frame Rate only if the Source has FPS >24

Video to MP4 Format/MPEG-4 Format with AVC/h.264 as Video Codec.
For N93, N73, N80, etc Devices, not all devices are supported.
And the guide ;)
Below is the nice guide how to convert video to mp4 format via Super converter.
I'll explain the process in more detail by using SUPER as an example, since it's a free tool and suited me best. It's UI might not be the easiest, but it utilises some of the best open-source multimedia software out there: ffmpeg, mencoder, mplayer and x264 to name a few.
[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
You can see my settings on the screenshot (click on it to get a better view):
1. Select the output container
select mp4
2. Select the output video codec
select H.264/AVC
3. Select the output audio codec
select AAC
4. Set video parameters
Video scale size: No change
Frame/sec: 15 (or lower, exactly half of the original's rate is best choice)
Bitrate: 336 is safe, don't go over 384
Options: go to H.264 profile and choose Baseline & 1.2
5. Set audio parameters
The best option would be not to change anything, but SUPER doesn't have the option to just pass through. Double-click on your original file, and check bit rate and sampling rate from 'audio #0' box. Or you can put my safe settings:
Sampling freq: 44100
Channels: 2
Bitrate: 64Then just drag-and-drop the original file to SUPER and click Encode now. If you are lucky it will process it for a while (actually a long while if it's a movie etc.) and produce a new file for you to watch in your S60. If you got an ERROR, there was something in the original SUPER didn't like. You might try again by changing Video scale size to 320x240, but then you might get a distorted result, if your file was in wide-screen format (height of picture is less than 240).

Tutorial:
First of all the things that you need -
On your S60 fone
Smart Movie + XviD codec
On your PC
VirtualDub ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
XviD ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Lame MP3 ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
__________________________________________________ _________
The steps that follow are to be followed on your PC !!!
First of all install the XviD and Lame MP3 codecs !!!
Then unzip the VirtualDub files to some location and then run the VirtualDub.exe
Now begins the fun -
1) Open the file you wish to encode -
[Note: VirtualDub wont be able to open WMV, ASF, MOV files]
2) From the Video menu click on Compression...
In the Select Video Compression window select XviD MPEG-4 codec.
Then click on the Configure button.
In the XviD Configuration window click on the Target Quantizer button. Note that the caption changes to Target bitrate (kbps).
In the textbox enter the value 150.
Click OK twice to close the XviD Configuration window and the Select Video Compression window.
3) Then from the Audio menu select Full Processing Mode.
Again from the Audio menu click on Compression....
The Select Audio Compression window will be shown.
In the listbox to the left select Lame Mp3.
In the listbox to the right select 32000 Hz, 96 kbps CBR, Stereo
Click OK to close the Select Audio Compression window.
4) From the File menu select Save Processing Settings... so that you dont have to repeat these steps everytime.
The next time you can just Load Processing Settings....
5) Now comes the tricky part.
From the Video menu select Filters
In the Filters dialog click on the Add button.
In the Add Filter dialog select Null Transform.
Next we remove the unwanted black strips surrounding the actual Video area.
Now click on the Cropping... button in the Filters dialog.
In the Filter Input Cropping dialog drag the slider such that the actual Video area can be seen perfectly.
Enter values in the X1 Offset, X2 Offset, Y1 Offset, Y2 Offset to remove the black strips.
Once done click on the OK button in the Filter Input Cropping dialog.
In the Filters dialog click on the Add button again.
Now in the Add Filter dialog select Resize.
In the Filter:resize dialog enter the values New width 176 and New height 112.
[Optimized for 176x208 displays - the aspect being 176/112 = 1.57 close to widescreen].
Select Bilinear from the Filter mode drop-down.
Click OK in the Filter:resize dialog and the Filters dialog.
6) This brings us to the Final step.
From the File menu select Save as AVI....
Depending upon the length of the video your mobile video will be ready in anything ranging from 10 seconds to 10 days !!! :D
