__________________________________________________ _______Since the moment I got my HTC Device It was preloaded with WM5, my experience with WM5 didn't turn to be so good, So I thought of shifting to WM6, but I was not ready to bring this change as I was not sure of the benefits WM6 offering which is not there with WM5..Luckily I got this guide which helped me to know more about the difference b/w the two. So here I am bringing the guidebook for You too. I hope it will be helpful to You as well..:weedman:

Thanks Saksham,
I saw this on the MS site a while back, when I was upgrading my MioA701 to a custom built WM6 (Mio didn't make one, was a hobbyist project).
The only interesting things on WM6 that I use are already installable via cab files
Windows live - ugg, Agile is better
Internet Sharing via USB - Mine does that already on WM5!
Mobile Update - there was nothing on it!
Windows Marketplace - Who needs it?
This is not aimed at you Saksham, just wanted to share that with other hopeful upgraders from WM5 to WM6 - is not really worth it :p not for me it wasn't..
Nice post mate :)

One more WM6 positive (and the biggest deal maker for me): Push Email.

But I feel friends stability matters a lot but when it comes to application WM5 rules. I personally never seen anybody using WM6 so I am still afraid..But as I have to test app before posting on IPMART so WM5 still does the job..Cheers & thanx all You for paying visit...

that is actually an advantage for WM6. while WM6 IS better overall, it still runs WM2005 apps, so no rewrite required.
oh yes, I AM using WM6 and all apps are supposed to run on WM05 run w/o any problem on my Wm06.

Hi
Thanks for the important posting. I have been struggling with the decision to upgrade to WM6 as it means buying a new device. I am happy with my Doopod 818 Pro which works well with WM5. Now I can make an informed decision. Thanks once again.

I think there is 2 cases :
- you want to buy a new device : no choice => wm6
- you have one in wm5 => - happy ? let it this way !
- no happy ? go for wm6
wm6 is better not only because of its features but also because it become more and more closer of a real operating system and not a firmware. Before it, you could only upgrade your pda by upgrading the whole firmware. Now, it seems possible to make change in the os, opening the way for hotfixes. No more wait for an handsome programmer to put the latest aku in its firmware, get it right now ...
Beside wm6 is far far from being perfect, wm7 or wm8 will be far far better but it's life !

Please do not post off topics, anyway comming to u , u can update ,till now all the major tiltles r working in wm6, so no worries and u can revert back to wm5 if ur dell site provides a downgrader
In my o2 mini s i keep on changing to wm5 to wm6 (depending on the updates and to report bugs in xda developers)

and stability on WM6. Huge difference.
I could only test WM6 on my device with the AKU0.7 Beta build from some hobbyists as the company that made my device didn't think it worthwhile to make a WM6 upgrade for the PDA I have.
Regarding stability, I couldn't see any noticable differences and don't really have any stability issues with WM5. Strangely it's usually the older, more updated OSes that are more stable (WM5 aku3.5 compared with WM6 aku0.7 or Vista compared with XP SP2 for example)
If anyone has any info on this I would be interested to know more. Since for me, WM6 doesn't show any real significant improvements over WM5. And I mean REAL improvements, not acceptance of the Marketing info, but real concrete stuff..
Anyone? For now I'm happy with WM5 but am curious if I should upgrade to WM6 or just wait till the next generation of WM comes along.
Here's an example article taking an "in depth" look at WM6.
