S2U2 V0.5

Requirements: WM5 or WM6

Overview: I think most of you love Slide2Unlock but also hate it because of it's a RAM hunger. Besides, running it at Landscape mode caused a lot of troubles. Luckily, recently I found a ce graphic library, and started to rewrite the whole thing in C++... So, here it is the new born baby - S2U2. As a new start, this is the most basic version, i.e. it does not have the Caller ID, unread xxx notifications, etc...

- added auto power saving as S2U (i.e. the shimmer will stop after idle for a while)

- added an icon for S2U2

- added Unread XXX notifications & ShowTask option

- added options ShowAppointment & AppointmentTimeFormat
(read the Configuration section below for the details)

- no more AC_XXX.bmp temp files

- all texts are VGA aware

- some graphic improvements on VGA mode

S2U2 is a simple lock/unlock application which has the iPhone style slide unlocking. It can be used as a screensaver while you don't use your device.

Relaxz bro...if you seach before, i had posted the v0.3 earlier on too...and i got permission from A_C personally to post on this forum. So this new version update, i guess he wont mind right?

I think I have bumped on a bug on this version. More specifically, I have noticed that when the application autostart, and you switch off the pda, it shows on the start up screen normally as it should be. On the contrary (here is the bug) when you let the pda to switch off after some time (e.g. 1 min) when you then switch it on, S2U2 doesn't appear on the startup screen. From several tests I have made, it seems that the problem lies on the startup order together with other programs because when you stop the application and manually start it again, it doesn't have this bug... Anyone experiences the same behavior as me? I will also post the same issue on the xda forum which is more appropriate......

please disregard my previous post. The above bug indeed existed and it is now fixed with the new version 0.52 that is published today. It can be found here:

A minor update to v0.53:

- added option ShowAlarm to show the coming system alarm info

- added a little animation when the device is charging

- fixed the "Flight Mode" issue for Treo

- some minor bugs fixed


Just updated to v0.52 with the following changes:

- ShowAppointment also shows "all day event" (but only the 1st one)

- reworked the "Flight Mode / No Service" detection

- fixed the WGA display defect in Landscape mode

- fixed Autostart to work with soft-key power off

- some bugs fixed

You were faster...actually AC was a bit late on the reply to me for giving me the permission to post this version here but it doesn't really matter. This great upgrade is here and that matters :)

I am sorry but i don't experience something like what you describe.
Is it possible not to have enough memory or processing power?
From what I understand 0.52 doesn't appear to you at all after start up?:???:

it appear in a flash when i wake up the ppc. then minimised and straight show today screen, i can see it running at backgrd on the taskbar coz i using wisbar advance.
This happen if i activate S2U2 then let ppc sleep on its own, let S2U2 auto activate when backlight off and then ppc auto off, off the ppc thru soft button or hardware button.

However, if i activate S2U2 and then off the ppc using hardware button, then ppc startup, S2U2 will be activated at ppc wake up and remain intact to slide and unlock screen.

Its strange, will try to remove the program, clean it up and then fresh install again

I think i know what you mean but this was a bug on 0.50 version and it is fixed in 0.52....
Anyway, i also think the issue has to do with the order S2U2 starts on the startup. Try with SKTools to change the order of it that is starting making it less (eg. if it 6 make it 4) letting wisbar advance to load last...... and then try again and let us know....

Might be conflicts with the things you installed. Try staurakis way which help in some cases or uninstall/stop any other auto start appz to see if it works for you :)

if i activate S2U2 then off PPC using the power button, when device wakes up, S2U2 will launch properly. Any other way will result in S2U2 minimising and go direct to todayscreen when PPC wakes up. 0.5v i dun have this problem. Only 0.52v.

Tested and realise its due to wisbar advance. If i dun launch wisbar advance, S2U2 works properly. If i use wisbar with S2U2, the problem appears... guess to live with it, i have to launch S2U2 and then off PPC thru hardware button.

btw, when i mean startup, i means PPC in sleep mode (LCD off) then wakes up. Not PPC off and then start power of PPC.

it is a known issues with "softkey" for "softreset", "offscreen" and "off LCD".
Just like for my atom wm6, theres a softreset shortcut which jammed my device or failed some of the appz when i used it. Not saying all are the same but do let us know which softkey, wat function "sleep" or "Off LCD" did you use? :)

its nothing dude , it just switches off ur display ,but ur ppc will be running!!! :) hope ur doubt is cleared!!!

found problem due to Wisbar 3.1.0.2. If i do not launch wisbar, S2U2 works fine.
Anybody using Wisbar and S2U2? Do you have the same problem, if not can i know ur settings for S2U2 and also any special settings u done in Wisbar.

I am using wisbar advance and S2U2 as well..... with no problems.... and no changes in settings

its off lcd function.

I tested again... its not wisbar.... its wisbar desktop..confirmed as i tried loading individually. Maybe go back to the v3 of wisbar desktop to test it out... dun remember anything like tat when i use v0.5.... still running test...haiz

oh... i found the setting error...haiz...... lol
sorry to post my problem when its my fault....

i set the setting of wisbar desktop to return to page 1 when device wakes up...that is why S2U2 keep minimising and directly return to today screen.....haha..... my fault for a wrong setting previously....

I'm using SPB Mobile Shell.

if ur on wisbar desktop, u might wanna check ur setting as i set it to go to todayscreen once ppc wakes up.

if its spb shell alone, i cant help as i am not using. if ur pretty sure it shell tat affected the program, try looking thru the setting that bring u to todayscreen immediately bypassing other things:ashamed:

Uninstall and install 2 times and is working.
I didn’t change anything.

will it not work in the smartphonel.. i installed it in my s620 and now im not able to unlock.. i had to switchoff the mobile nd restart it again... its a gr8 application which i cant afford not to have. can you please add one more shortcut to unlock it other than touchscreen method (slide to unlock) please.. thanks in advance..
