Made some interesting skins for the new version of KD player (v 0.8.6). All these skins are for screen size 176x220 as I have w550i. So higher screensize skins could not be tested on my mobile.

Loading Skins >

Store the files in any folder...say 'others'

Now open KD Player. In main screen, select 'menu'. Then 'More'.

'Change Skin' > Open Skin File> C: > Go to 'others'

Select the skin you want to use.

ok...correct me if iam wrong...i think u have either not added a folder for search or havent updated the library...

Step 1. Adding a folder to search for music

First of all go to 'menu' select 'settings' then 'general settings' and scroll down until you see 'search in subfolders'...check it (select)...then go back to menu screen.

in the main menu screen...select 'menu' go to 'settings'...select 'folder for scanning'...go to 'menu' select 'add folder'...and select your card drive (C/D/E/some other label)...dont know what it will be for you...u must be having an idea...

thats it you have now added the folder for scanning...still you wont be able to see your songs...go to step2...

Step 2. Updating Library

In main menu screen...select 'menu'...select 'Update Libarary'...now it may ask for permission...keep pressing yes until you come back to menu screen...now u have added all files...

Now go to tracks ...u can see all files i believe...provided you have mp3 songs in your card...;)

sadly there is no software to make these skins...:cry:

But I can tell you the procedure to make one...:supz:

the kdi file is nothing but a png file renamed...so just change kdi extension to png and open it in photoshop.

the kds file has the coordinates defined for the icos in the kdi file...

so spend some time with the png file opened in photoshop and the kds file in notepad...and try to understand how the coordinates have been defined...iam sure it wont take even an hour to figure that out...

download some pictures and icons to create your own skin...rest is up to your creativity....

Try patching your phone using SE tool2lite or XS++ or Far Manager...
I don't recommend this for noobs, so try reading some other tutorials before attempting to do so, or otherwise your phone will go to waste...:cry:

Procedure 1:
I dont mean to promote some other forumhere...but I got hold of this thread wherein the procedure for installing permissions has been explained well...I havent tried it...but it looks like some flashing needs to be done...at ur own risk...

Alternative:
I have an alternative solution. Everytime u want to change skin, yes u have to go thru the tiring process of pressing the button. But, if u want a troublefree time while listening to music, u can create an autoplaylist and sort it according to filename. It shouldnt ask for permissions whenever thr is a change of track...

It worked for me...lemme know if it works for u as well...

Now about this script...
Now when u play a song...in some skins u can see at the botton these 3 text - Stop, Play, Menu...The following code defines their coordinates...
<stop_text B,R,0,-55,0>
B,R means Bottom Right
lets assume the coordinates are x,y,z...just use x,y...from bottom right corner decide at what distance u want your text (stop, play or menu)...-55 denotes that the text goes way out of the screen...this is done when u dont want to see these text in the player...

i prefer to use <T,L,x,y,z> for all...it becomes easy to assign coordinates...

...same applies for all lines in the script...to deine font color and size u have <artist_font x,y,z,z1>...where x is the font size...smallest being 0...y,z,z1 are the RGB colors to be defines for the text...e.g. 0,0,0,0 stands for size smallest and color-black. Use photoshop and u'll understand the coloring scheme.

if u already have a landscape version of your skin...open the kds file in notepad...u can see a script <rotate false>...simply change false to true now again select this skin (remember to select it again) in kd player...u should have the vertical version...

The exception comes when you try to play a song which doesnt exist in your mobile but is being displayed in tracks list (it sometimes happens) or else when the media format is not supported...

The player asks for permission bcoz it needs a hamler certificate. For that try this out...it'll definitely help u

How to make this walkman skins become to KD player skin?.. please..
Sorry, I don't understand about coordinates definition that i opened in notepad, but I understand photoshop.

I wanna KD player with original Walkman skin such as: W800, W880, or W950 or Nokia. If you have time, would you make those skin for me? Thanks.

This article describes the creation of skins for the KD Player 0.8.1 and higher.


Background:
KD skins for the player consist of two files with the same name but different extensions. Once these files are created, they can program into the archive in the folder "skins" are involved, but they have to be "default.kds" and "default.kdi". Moreover, even on the phone memory / storage card to be copied, in this case, choose the appropriate skin on the menu in the program.

For the skin necessary:
1. The first file has the extension *. kds. This is a simple text file in ANSI encoding. The content must match the reserved word kdskin begin. This program recognizes it as a skin file. This is where all the information about the location of the graphical elements of the player and the color of its menus. All options are indicated by tags, the following form: <Bildelement parameter>. Below follows a detailed list of these tags.

2. The second file has the extension *. kdi. This is an image file, in any format can be created, the mobile telephone can process. It recommends the creation in PNG or JPEG format, some phones also handle BMP and GIF files. PNG, however, provides the best compression rate, when you consider that, unlike JPG no picture information loses. It also supports transparency, but here is to be noted that transparency effects require more resources and also, as far as the author knows, only full Tranzparenzunterstützung Sony Ericsson offers.


Description of the tags and their parameters:

Font:

• 0 - Small / fat
• 1 - Small / normal
• 2 - Medium / fat
• 3 - medium / normal
• 4 - large / fat

Colours:

• R - the proportion of red paint
• G - the proportion of green color
• B - share blue


Start coordinates:

• T - starting point is the left upper corner of the display.
• B - starting point is the left bottom corner of the display.


Orientation:

• L - linkszentriert.
• C - centered.
• E - rechtszentriert.


Parameters:

• P1, P2, P3 - Day options
• R, G, B - RGB colors
• X1, Y1, X2, Y2 - coordinates of the image requested KDI part in the file.


KDS tags and their function:

<rot P1>
This tag controls the output of the Skins in high-or landscape format.
P1:
True - horizontal issue ( "landscape")
False - normal, vertical Issue

<border R,G,B>
This tag determines the color of the border around the player. If the first option -1, no framework. Example of a black frame would <border 0,0,0>.

<bkgnd1 X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
Controls the background of the player. If the image is smaller than the display size, the item again.

<bkgnd2 X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
Controls the background to the main menu. If the image is smaller than the display size, the item again.

<menu_top_l X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_top_c X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_top_r X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
These tags describe the upper menu bar. The middle part is on the whole width of the display is repeated.

<menu_bot_l X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_bot_c X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_bot_r X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
These tags describe the bottom menu bar. The middle part is on the whole width of the display is repeated.

<menu_sel_l X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_sel_c X1,Y1,X2,Y2> <menu_sel_r X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
These tags describe the element of the selected menu item. The middle part is on the whole width of the display is repeated.

<menu_text_font P1,R1,G1,B1,R2,G2,B2>
Describes font, size and color of the menu text.
Options:
P1 - font (so)
R1, G1, B1 - color of the text, and scrollbar.
R2, G2, B2 - color of selected text.

<menu_caption R,G,B>
Describes the color of the menu heading.

<menu_time R,G,B>
Describes the color of the displayed time from the main menu.

<menu_msg_bkgnd R,G,B>
Describes the background color of a message from the main menu.

<soft_text1 R,G,B>
Describes the background color of a message in the player menu.

<soft_text2 R,G,B>
Describes the background color of a selected item in the player menu.

<soft_text3 R,G,B>
Describes the text color in the player menu.

<soft_sel_text4 R,G,B>
Describes the color of selected text in the player menu.

<soft_border1 R,G,B>
Describes the border color in the player menu.

<soft_border2 R,G,B>
Describes the color of the frame to a selected item in the player menu.

<soft_player P1>
Describes the height of the player menus.

Image is about the background. In the standard skin, it is the words "KD player."

Sets the position of the above Element.

<albumart X1,Y1,X2,Y2>
The displayed as a standard album cover. The size of this item determines the size of the covers in general.

you should goto General settings->checked on search subfolder, after that goto folder for scanning->add folder(which is your music files folder), then refresh/update library.

Hopefully this can help you. Tell you in advance, on K750 will be quite slow when scanning files. It take a long time.

the zip files have a kds and a kdi file...copy both to any folder in your mobile say "others"

now run kd player...in the main menu screen...select 'menu'...'more/extras'...then change skin...keep going inside until u r within the folder 'others'....select the skin u want to load...thats it...

NOTE: if asked for some permission...keep allowing it by pressing 'yes'

it works perfectly fine in k810...kd player has its own volume control...left and right key of joystick...so check the volume...

Do you speak Spanish, SonyShort? This is NOT a translation, at least, its the awful one i have ever seen. What program did you use?

I know my English is not good but i dont boast posting something like this.

Here, a personal translation ive been updating from v0.5.6, surely its not perfect but into Spanish. And if you want skins, [Only registered and activated users can see links] is the best (my humble opinion).

Here, a personal translation ive been updating from v0.5.6, surely its not perfect but into Spanish. And if you want skins, [Only registered and activated users can see links] is the best (my humble opinion).

Nobody is boasting out here...all he tried to do was provide help for users who are not proficient in English...ofcourse the translation aint good coz he used a translator...thats where u guys have a role to play...a feedback would have been helpful...a constructive feedback i mean to say

Regarding skins, yes the link that you have provided is the official kd player website...and this thread displays only skins made by me...moreover the kd player site has displayed almost all my skins but he doesnt have skins of all resolutions (iam talking of just mine)...so if users want skins from other users as well, they r welcome to visit that site...but if u want to view my skins, that link doesnt have all my skins...

yes while posting the new version, it was told that the equalizer would work only with mobiles with JP8...it is not supported by java 7

KD Player 0.95 has one or two bugs in particular with landscape skins in that when a skin is changed the top and bottam menu bars of skin sort of freeze. Anothe problem is that the 'wait' image of a landscape skin cannot show on version 0.95
