Install Instructions:
The image in the .rar is from CloneDVD, and you need Daemon Tools Advanced in order to mount it properly to get past the game's detection.

1.) Extract from the .rar files. You will get a .mdf and .mds image file totaling 6+ gigs.
2.) Download and install Daemon Tools Pro Advanced if you don't already have it:
3.) Once you have Daemon Tools up and running, you can close the main window and then right click on the Daemon Tools system tray icon.
4.) Go up to Virtual CD/DVD ROM and click Add Virtual IDE Drive.
5.) Go back to Virtual CD/DVD ROM and click on the virtual drive you just created, and the click mount image. You can now browse to the mini image and use that to trick the game into thinking the disc is in the drive.

Note: You can mount the actual DVD image in regular Daemon Tools and install it, but you need Advanced to make the Virtual IDE Drive. You may or may not need to enable all security emulation options. Right click on the system tray icon > Emulation > All Options On.

i cant download witcher, its taking so much time!!!

Note for those who use several ISO products. When you employed Daemon Tool Pro to mount The Witcher's image you have to delete all the virtual drives created by the other softwares to avoid problems. In my case I've got some when I 've tried to create the virtual IDE drive. There is an update for the Witcher ( the 1.1.a) wich is fully functional with the image. Good Game and thanks a lot to dragon.

Edit : Each time I restart my computer the game ask me for the DVD and the image is still mount in the IDE Virtual drive. Anybody got an idea?

Idem for me : when I mount the mini-image provided "NS-TW_SS-poseden.mdf" in the vIDE drive it says Unknown. Got a solution ?
Perhaps a problem of DVD region?
the only difference i' ve noticed in my screenshot is the number beside the drive. I've got "2" and dragon got "8".

i just got the game to run on my computer.
hey JLL, it does not matter if you have 8 drives or 2 drives, the only thing you have to do is is activate a IDE drive like the ones shown in your screenshot and then turn on the safedisc, securom, laserlok, rmps only.
now upload the witcher image or iso file onto the IDE drive, and thats pretty much it.
you know wat to do after that

I have it and try your method, still not working. He still ask me to insert the original CD. The first time I have played the game I haven't got any problem. But when I've shutdown my computer and wanted to play the game again the problem has appeared. it's strange !

OK folks, here's the deal. For the moment - you don't need a fix or patch to run The Witcher (the clonedvd one from platin). You also DO NOT need to upgrade your Deamon Tools to Pro. Apparently some people out there just want to infect as many machines as possible. Go figure - huh.

OK - first download The Witcher, and if you don't have it already DT Lite. Google for the site online if you need it - don't bother with the torrents - takes too long to DL, and usually comes with extra baggage if you know what I mean.

Now - with DT (or other equivalent virtual drive programs) UNCHECK ALL EMULATION OPTIONS. This is very important. Witcher needs no emulation, and it will prevent you from playing. Mount image, install, patch, and play.

Vista users - out of habit I checked compatability to run as administrator. May or may not be neccessary.

If it still doesn't run (mine didn't), make sure you check system requirements. If you have a Raedeon x1550 (or equivalent) or below - you may have to manually change your screen resolution to 800x600. Once I did that, it loaded (and played) beautifully.

Note: I only played the first part of the beginning just to see if it worked well. Farther on there "could" be problems, I haven't tested yet. But for now - you can play your game, and not wait for the sceeners to fix it.
