Many thanks for the guide to:

f you would like to know how I was able to make speed/red light camera landmarks for Nokia GPS phones then read on...
By following these instructions you will also be able to learn how to make other landmarks like Wi-Fi hotspots or petrol stations. If you don't want to go through the process of doing this and just want speed camera locations for your phone, you can download files here.

First, you need to get a POI file in any format such as OV2, GPX, KML, CSV, etc. You can find them on the web or you may be able to rip them from another navigation device like a TomTom.

I've added some tips to the bottom of this page to get the most out of this.

Now you need to download and install the required software and tools:

* PoiEdit - hxxp://[Only registered and activated users can see links]
* GSAK - hxxp://[Only registered and activated users can see links]
* Nokia.gsk macro for GSAK - hxxp://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=5909 - download, but don't install yet.

In this example, I'm going to use a speed/red light camera locations OV2 file from a TomTom unit.

Open up the POI file you have using PoiEdit. You can add or adjust POI locations and also view them on Google Maps. Once you are happy with your POI locations, click on File and then Save As. Save your file as a GPX extension (select GPS eXchange Format from the drop-down box).

Now, assuming you have already installed GSAK, open the GPX file you just created with GSAK by right-clicking on the GPX file and then choosing to open with GSAK. When GSAK starts, click on all the "OK's" until you get to the main screen. You do not need to adjust any settings.

Now on the menu bar, click on Macro and then choose Run/Manage. A new window will come up. Click on Install and then browse for the folder where you saved the "Nokia.gsk" file from the website listed above. Open it and then click on Install.

When it is installed it should show up in the list of macros. Select it and then click Run.

Now you must choose were you want to export the LMX file to. Click on OK.

Go to the folder where you chose to export to and then you should find the .LMX file. You can now send it by Bluetooth, email, or by using a USB cable to your Nokia GPS phone.

TIPS: To make it easier working with these files, open Windows Explorer (or the folder you are keeping the files in), click Tools, Folder Options, then click the View tab, and then under Advanced Settings, make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is not selected. Then click Apply and OK. This makes it easier to know what extensions you are working with and which file is which. Also, one important thing to note is that GSAK seems to remember all the last POIs you used when you last used the program. So for example, if you make speed camera locations, save them, exit the program and then open up a Wi-Fi locations file, you will have both the speed camera and Wi-Fi locations POI's combined. To clear all POI's and start again, right-click on any POI, then select Delete Waypoint. Tick the box for "All waypoints in database" and then click OK and then when the error message comes up click OK again. Now you can start on a new set of POI's to convert to LMX.

Thanks for reading and good luck. Please note that I do not take any credit for the software that I used such as PoiEdit or GSAK and the GSAK macro. I want to thank the people who made those programs. These are just instructions on how to use those programs and I do not claim ownership or copyright of any of those programs.

Important:Unloaded Nokia Macro that I enclose here and not that one to the URL of the guide

Notes:

As soon as created the rows LMX enough that you put it in the folder Documents of your SD, to this point gone on the rows you open it and you will see all the pdi, hour does not remain other that to make OPTIONS, SAVES OF ALL In the POINTS OF REFERENCE. To wait for some second for the rescue, then exited and entered in the Application Points of reference (in the 6110 is in the folder options). Now you will have already concluded, will be enough to make Modification Category then to you and New category, created you therefore a folder, es autovelox where you will put the pdi in the having followed way: it selects all-you add to category... hour You open the navigator well, gone on imports and alarms pdi, hour selected the created category and you add SOUND, VISUAL, and Distance of allerta..Bene hour fairies FINE and... CONCLUded..Now YOU WILL HAVE YOURS pdi on the route!

This is for Nokia 6110 Navigator, not for R66 mobile 7. :grrr:

It will work also with Nokia Maps to add your own landmarks.. but unfortunately it's not useful for speedcameras :(

Please change the title of this tutorial. to avoid confusion.

Also in reading this consider that was probably written in Italian and translated using a very bad online traslator. :forsaken:

For easier understanding replace some of the words like:
rescue (salvataggio in Italian) means: save
hour (ora in Italian) means: now

and so on ....
