i was a symbian user and now i have a smartphone (wm5). what should i do with the .exe files and with the .cab files? is there anything else (besides these two) that i should know?

the .exe have to been installed from activesync (in pc) (or similar) with your device connected to pc, when you click the exe start the installation program on your device

the .cab have to been moved from pc in the memory of the device (local or external) with transfer file (active synk or wm5torage), than run the cab in your device (explore, browse folders and click on the cab), the installiatio prog starts immediatly.

@adempozhari To share WiFi connection you'll probably need router with access point. Of course you can try to make Ad-hoc connection. You can change connection type in your Wi-Fi client. You'll need to put IP manually.

You must install first activesync 4.2 (followed with companion cd) to your computer...

A smartphone is different from a Pocket PC..it has no touchscreen and the user interface is designed for a smaller screen as is the OS...No PPC links thanks for apps thanks as we cant use them...cant use the menu's as we have no touchscreen...

Yes this is possible. Pokemons were on GBC so best emulators are:
Smartgear and Gnuboy.

Hello folks. This if my first post and i am sorry if it is in the wrong forum.

I purchased an LG LN500 Sat Nav from Halfords at the weekend. It is running Destinator software 5.7 and the maps say they are for Q1 2006.
I am normally good with tech stuff but updating this is really baffling me!
Please could someone point me in the right direction on how to update this to the latest maps and stuff as well as installing Traffic cams etc.

When i go to start--->settings--->remove programs, there used to be a list with all the programs. Now, after installing a program yesterday on my phone, the list is now blank. I thought this would be due to a limit of programs displayed.. so i removed the last 5 programs from my list using Activsync. Still no luck, the remove programs list is empty. Is there a registry fix for this or anything in the \Windows folder to fix this? I really dont want to hook it up to my comp everytime i want to remove a program. I have a Blackjack with WM6 on it.

It's sort of a bug and only hard reset (which implies to make an back-up for not install all from scratch) makes him dissapear.
Be happy though because you can uninstall through ActiveSync :hahaha2:

Thanks for the help, but I resolved my problem. Another app I found on ipmart was SK Tools, which has a category that removes installed applications. Its better than the Windows Mobile installer in a way that it removes all the paths and registry entries. Windows Mobile does not, it leaves traces behind. I forgot where I found the program on IPMART. But i've included an attachment... This might also be of interest to ironickid7.

When you install a homescreen someone has created you have to make sure your settings are set to default. Go into your homescreen settings on the Q and make sure your background and color scheme are set to default. That should allow the homescreen you just installed to display properly with it own configured wallpaper & colors.

I have found alot of java games on this site that i like such as need for speed most wanted 3d. But the problem is the game screen is 240 x 320. There are alot of good java games but most are 240 x 320. Is there any way to change the resolution of the game to 320 x 240? Any converters or anything helpful? I have found sites that say to edit the MANIFEST.MF file in the META directory of the jar file. Even after editing that, it still doesnt fix the problem.

I have searched the forum but I couldn't find any "One Hand" keybord to write with Greek language also, in my SP!!
Some great programs are the "Tap Tap Keybord" or the "iPhone Keyboard".. but i dont think that comes up with a Greek language!:(

It really differ cause of type of the game you are trying to install...

It really differ cause of type of the game you are trying to install. In overall there are 2 types: system based games (written for windows mobile) and ad-ons games for eg. Java games, Flash games and so on which requires additional engine to be installed first to let the game work. If you for eg. installed Java game than to run it you have to go to your biuldt-in java application (eg JavaBlend) and first run this application. Than java game will be available inside this Java app.
To install system based game just copy .cab file to your phone and execute it in the phone. Alternatively you can run .exe file but on the PC not phone (you have to be connected to let the game install from the PC to the phone).
After installation mostly games are available in "Games" folder in your phone but sometimes thay are available in "programs" or "all apps" folder.

well..there are 2 applications i saw in i phone and i became jealous (3 with shazam which i found :).
The first one the user during a call could add some background sound like you are in a cafe or in the street even if you were actually in a quiet place.
The second could call me and my phone instead of his number shows every number he wants!


An other program i saw for sybian and i do not know if there is for wm is one called bluetouthhack or something. Could remote control other phone without permission. :thinking:

Hi, I have a kind of problem with Might and Magic 2 on my smartphone. I'm trying to find proper version to work on my hp ipaq 514 wm6. I downloaded all possible versions of might and magic 2 .jar files and here is how it goes:

Most of versions doesn't display some pop-ups in game (like chat-boxes or found items) and they always freeze on second chapter. Only version that works properly is one dedicated for k500i phone, which unfortunately is not in my res (176x220) what makes it impossible to play.

I use latest JBed Rose, also tried it on latest Jbed 3dMod.

Anyone got clues why it's like that ? Wrong java player or sth like that ? And for some games there is this NoClassDefFound Error.

Generally, what may I lack that some Java apps which works on mobiles like SE Wxxx, can't run on my HP ?
