1. To check your iphone version, dial *3001#12345#* on the iPhone. It will show you: Versions -> Firmware version, if it says "03.14.08_G", then the iPhone is version 1.0.2. You're fine. Go to step 2.

If it says "03.12.06_G" (version 1.0.0), then restore iPhone to the version 1.0.2 first through iTunes.( Press and hold "HOME" + "Power" button on the iPhone for 30 seconds until "connect to iTunes message" shows up. but after i downgraded to 1.0.2 through itunes it gave me an error
"
could not restore an unknown error occured (1)"
now its stuck with itunes logo and calbe
please help me soon

the newest phone (after 9/11/07) with firmware 1.1.2 doesnt unlock

use ibrickr to put your phone into special DFU mode and then try to downgrade it with itunes... it will not give u error
