Guys. I was wondering if theres anyone of you can teach me in scaling your drawings in autocad. Like setting up the step by step on how to. My project was to scale the drawing to 1:50 mts. I already made the drawing but i don't know what scale that i made. So in the last step is to make the drawing to 1:50mts.

I need to know this very bad. I am currently studying basic autocad drawing but my instructor can't explain to me clearly so i am looking for someone who can explain it to me.

Thanks in advance!!!

I can teach you to do. :friends:

Do you know how to create viewpoints on layouts.

If you look at the bottom right corner of you screen you
should see some symbols (with lightbulb at end) then a drop down arrow. click on drop down arrow and see if Annotation Scale is ticked.

The scale on model space should always be 1:1

On paper space if you click on a view point the scale will be shown, which you can also change.

There was a post on this forum for a Autocad 2008 book.

If you want any more help. Just let me know. :egdance:

Sir thanks for you help! I tried what you suggested and checked.Yeah its 1:1 but my question is...first on model space i will draw plans right? The next question will be coming in my mind is what scale will i use before i draw a plan. For example the requirement is 1:50mts. Like in manual drawing you will use triangle scale for you to make it like 1:50mts on every line that you make.
Here in autocad is how will i make that every line that i make is scaled to 1:50mts. Or like when i make a rectangle that were scaled in 1:50mts.

Sorry for me being pain in the ass. I really need to study this one or else i cannot draw something. right?

I will try and put this a clear as possible incase it helps anyone else.

1. Open Autocad with a blank drawing to start.

2. Draw plans on model space (model space should be set to 1:1),
The lines you draw will either be in mm or inches. If you want to
draw a line of say 3.5metres you would have to draw the line
3500. You can if it is easier make a line then use the offset
command, offset 3500 to original line then draw a new line
between these two. this new line will be 3500.

3. When you have finished drawing in model space. left click on the
LAYOUT TAB (next to model). Then right click tab and select PAGE
SETUP MANAGER, select modify or new this will select the size of
paper to be used and the printer.

4. The scale is only for use with the layout tabs and printing differant
size paper. Resize the view point to fit on the paper by dragging
the corners. If you double click inside the viewport the paper tab
at the bottom of the screen will now show model and also the
current scale will be shown. you can move the drawing around
with the pan command(hand sign), or if you cannot see any
drawing use the zoom all command move the drawing to the
centre of the viewport then click vp scale and set to say 1:50.

5. To complete click on the model tab at the bottom of the screen
and it will change to paper. When printed the drawing will be at
1:50 on say A4 paper to check this use a scale rule on a known
line on the drawing i.e the 3500 line first drawn.

Any more questions or info on above just post :friends:
