Nokia has announced an official beta of Internet Radio, curiously only initially officially compatible with the N95 variants, N82 and N91. It works brilliantly and immediately, with no fiddling with (or searching the 'net for) Shoutcast playlists and comes with a full directory of hundreds of compatible stations.

the low down: the 3.0 version is for sybian 9.1, the 3.1 is for 9.1 FP1 eg: the n95

the 3.0 version works great on my n93

And still theres not an radio player for s60 that lets you save the stream..

I am unable to get any stream on n73. The directory listing is shown when I use wap connection, but not stream gets connected. On the other hand using gprs connection, not even directory listing is shown.

Any suggestions!

this is an extraordinary good application.maybe the best on internet stations.if nokia wants to do something good does it.if they could add an equalizer on this application it will the best of the best.

I think is strange working on other devices that are not N82, N91, N95 and N95 8GB...

The official site, Nokia site, says it's only avaiable for the devices metioned above!

But I'm glad it works on other devices too, so others can enjoy this great peace of software by Nokia!!!

Europe : Discover and listen to radio shows broadcasted over the internet with the Nokia Internet Radio service now available.

The application can be downloaded for free.will also be embedded in upcoming Nokia S60 3rd edition devices.

Work around for my above mentioned problem:
- Started radio player with wap connectivity
- Added a couple of radio stations to my favorites list
- Closed and restarted radio player now with gprs settings to run one of my favorite added station and got it working on my n73

unfortunately, this nice app works only with some N-Series devices. i've test it with my E70.
i could install the app without problems, but it will not start.

Well on E90 you can't start this program when opened, you can start it closed though and then open it afterwords but the screen won't be resized, so it's quit tiny in the left corner... Atleast the volume control works there...(Fn+V/B). Still it's quite uncomfortable because you would have to open your phone every time you wanted to adjust the volume..

Well thanks.Its working nicely on my N95 but i think it comes with a problem (on 95 atleast) that is you wont be able to use your Multimedia (Shortcut) Key.If this can be rectified great app if cant still a great app.

For those who want to use their Multimedia Key again--uninstall Internet Radio Beta and restart your cell phone.

maybe coz u r at higher firmware i am still at the Factory one.

As I wrote: it works with V.20 firmare on N95 (on GPRS and on WLAN).

it is great to know that u could use this in e90.i have tried in my e90 with wifi-when trying to log on to a station,the connecting bar(the round circle)keeps rotating and unable to connect icon appears.
could u pl.give me the complete settings for e90 and oblige?

After successfully running on my n73, I must say that the audio quality is really not that good. Using tunein.fm player give me better audio quality at a lower bandwidth. Moreover at same bandwidth nokia radio player keeps interrupting to buffer.

If tunein.fm gives an option to play your own files, there is nothing like that player.

It works fine in E61, but the button labels are screwed up. The battery meter is where the options label should be, the options label is where back/exit should be and the back/exit label is at the top right position of the screen. Otherwise works fine. It looks better than VirtualRadio and it supports the volume up/down side buttons, but there's no Virgin Radio Classic Rock or SomaFM, so this is useless for me. And it buffers stations a lot longer than VirtualRadio. It doesn't support Vorbis OGG stations. I'll try adding my favourite stations manually...

Email Virgin Radio to add the channels you want. I just request PlayRadioUK to add the Play Xmas station into the "Station directory".

This application is specifically for:
N95, N95 8GB, N81
EG: S60 (Symbian) OS 9.1 and OS 9.1 "Feature Pack 1" operating system.
It MAY work on other OS 9.1 phones but as it is a beta it has not officially been approved for other handsets yet.

So..
N73 = No.....

But it works fine in my Nokia N73. Been using it constantly for last 2 days.

Great app, much nicer then other internet s(60)radio app. Works nice on my N95.
