View Full Version : Add new codes to your Psiloc irremote ::::
gmagesh14 13th December 2007, 17:07 Hi friends.I found this technique to add more devices to your Psiloc irremote database without updating it through online. As we all encountered with some problems while updating the devices list online,I'm sure that this will help you to add your devices to psiloc irremote database. This method was not found by me.It is by our another Ipmart member.I'm sharing the ideas I gathered from here.Follow the steps. They are pretty easy.I attached the image too.Sorry about my bad english.
1.Get all the remote codes from this link
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
2.Send the required remotes to your phone through any connectivity like irDA,Bluetooth or USB cable.
3.Now open LCG Xplore or other explorer.(Not the default file manager)
4. (i) For remote codes sent via irDA or Bluetooth, the remotes will be stored in your message inbox. So by using LCG explore move (cut) the remote files in your inbox to "c:\data\codes".If the folder "codes" is not present in your C:\data ,then create it.
(or)
(ii) For remote codes sent through USB cable, just open the LCG Xplore and point to the location of the file and move it to "c:\data\codes "
5.Make sure that you correctly moved the remote codes only to "c:\data\codes "
6.Now exit the LCG Xplore.Open the File Manager(your defaut one),Goto phone memory and then open the folder named "codes"
7.Open the remote file, now it will automatically opens your Psiloc irremote application and the new remote will be added to your database.
Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!

aristotelhs2060 13th December 2007, 17:19 The problem is how to add new devices that are not already on psiloc database not how to transfer them to mobile
PapaDocta 13th December 2007, 17:25 moved to the how-to section...

gmagesh14 13th December 2007, 18:26 The problem is how to add new devices that are not already on psiloc database not how to transfer them to mobile
Sorry man I'll try to post if I find the details you mentioned...
Title changed!!!
bugsy999 14th December 2007, 10:44 Since version 1.01 the file format has changed and the codes cannot be updated from the site.
Seanokia 14th December 2007, 11:05 it doesnt work, I used FExplorer to do the process but Irremote wont recognize any of the new codes
bugsy999 14th December 2007, 11:21 I'm doing a file compare of the two formats. These are the differences I have noticed:
Offset 00: Old version Hex: 99 / New Version Hex: 89
Offset ??: There is another difference (varies)
All the other are the same!
If we can figure out the second offset we can downgrade from the new codes to the old ones.
gmagesh14 14th December 2007, 11:52 it doesnt work, I used FExplorer to do the process but Irremote wont recognize any of the new codes
What you have to do is download the remote codes from psiloc website or download the full list from the link I provided above.
Just send that files to this location in your phone "c:\data\codes\ "
Now go to the folder called "codes" in your phone memory through your default file manager(not Fexplorer) and open the ir file,it'll automatically opens your psiloc irremote application and updates the new code to your database.
"" Follow each and every step I mentioned earlier.Don't confuse between the fexplorer and file manager "".
sanctifiedru 15th December 2007, 18:28 For this to work should irRemote be installed in the phone memory or memory card(or hard disk)?!?! Will it make a difference?! For me with irRemote installed to the hard disk on my N95 it does not work. Maybe i should try installing in the phone memory. What do you think?

I installed it in my memory card.Working great ,I added more devices to the database.Follow the steps carefully, you may get confused :???: between file explorer and file manager.
gmagesh14 15th December 2007, 20:16 Please try this and tell whether it's working for you also.

bugsy999 18th December 2007, 12:03 For this to work should irRemote be installed in the phone memory or memory card(or hard disk)?!?! Will it make a difference?! For me with irRemote installed to the hard disk on my N95 it does not work. Maybe i should try installing in the phone memory. What do you think?
Mine is installed on the memory card. Be careful because the latest codes do not work with this version.
gmagesh14 18th December 2007, 19:49 I can able to add the codes anywhere from my phone..
Whenever I open the *.ir files it automatically opens the Psiloc irremote and updates the database.
For people in India who are using TATA SKY (satellite) in their home, this is the remote code for you..
D1mk3 18th December 2007, 21:07 Pls find ir file for neo tvs which can add to application.

ghostrider1 24th December 2007, 22:23 I have compared the ir-files (from here) against the lirc-codes and pronto-codes and there must be a way to edit the codes self because it is the same codes, many of the codes from here are incomplete but i think we can fix it.years ago we used an editor which didnt leave marks like wordpad and similar programs do. I can not remember what program that was, anyone have a suggestion? (it was used to edit keys in Lce and Wce for sat-tv)

maxp 26th December 2007, 00:23 Can somebody made for IR9502 please?
ghostrider1 26th December 2007, 17:54 It seems that the best method is number4 (N80), Philips, pioneer and samsung works on a long distance,Thomsson works if you have your nose against the screen.... The best way to find what you are looking for is to Check the numbers back or under your devices, On or inside your remote-control. Here is lirc-codes for some of the most common brands(Requested!?) for comparison! just open with notes or any other editor and as you can see,the four last letters/numbers in hex-format are the same, and from here you can decide which is the best .ir-file for your device....... If you are intressed, some exampels, and a complete list: "remotes.rar" I hope this was useful for someone out there and a merry, merry christmas and a happy new year to you all
"These codes are NOT to be used for irremote, just for comparison"
Mali Miraz 26th December 2007, 18:59 Ok i managed to install everything.
I get new codes from here : [Only registered and activated users can see links]
I "installed" them on phone , and when i open any codec in codec/*** directory , i remote starts and i get error : feature not supported " ... And if i try to start iremote from install dir i get same error... so i need to reinstall complete iremote and then works again until i want to get/set codec from codec directory.
What's the problem ?
hrabiamol 26th December 2007, 19:36 Thank you very much, it works perfect!
Ermy Sti 27th December 2007, 02:26 I've installed it but it doesn't work with my television: Philips 32PW9617. There are only Philips 32PW9618 on the device database... but i think there are no difference in the IR standards...

Dvd or a Tv-remote? Some remotes can control different devices so its easier if we could name the brand of nokia.which device or remote etc..
maybe like this N80-TV-28PT44-Rcle012 confirmed method4 or
N80_SAT_SAMSUNG_DSR9500ViaCi:Tm59 Working
remember: some devices works only in the range of 10-20 inches(25-50cm)
My tv and sat works but i have a dvd named Strato and i cant get it to work
Collection of sammy_tv_ir's just put them in the phone and try, hope you will find the right one :D
Refik 28th December 2007, 20:05 thanks man ill try them

What am i doing wrong?
Just create it by yourself..
gmagesh14 28th December 2007, 20:35 Some guys asked about adding the codes which are downloaded from Psiolc website
:- The newly added codes for your devices in the Psiloc website is of new versions so it cannot be added by following this tutorial..i'm helpless sorry about that..I tried different methods ,but ??!!!!
RoooBY 29th December 2007, 16:58 HI first post!
cool with this codes it works!
But i need *.ir for Medion md40855s
Lemon Volksbox
Universum vtc-cd 1052
Thanks!
ghostrider1 29th December 2007, 20:22 I have managed to switch + and - on volume, keypad numbers etc. in *.ir-files with a hex-editor:egdance: but.... they must be in the same length,
if i change length
of one command, for exampel (Lemon Volksbox VDR) command = power "11CC"
in another file that has "FF" the hole file gets corrupted.:???:
If anyone could send me some of the new version (for v1.02) ir-files i'd be very happy:happy:
Lemon Volksbox is listed in the lirc codes i provided earlier and if we could find an ir-file similar..... just edit it!
(Hex-workshop)

If you compare the numbers(digits) they are quite similar and i can mix around them using Hex-workshop or Carbide as long as i dont add or remove a command,or if the codes are of different lengths, an example:
<code name="TVVolumeUp" data="708f"/> <code name="TVChannel0" data="ff"/>
The lirc or winlirc codes are actual "recordings" of a remote control
Bits epps etc. is like a signature or structure of the beam, and for a specific command you send a specific code, channel 0 = ff
We should be able to convert the lirc or pronto just as well as psiloc do on the web.I'm a bit rusty because i have not done this for a while. The ultimate would be to record your remote, build ir-files directly to the phone!
franseg 4th January 2008, 01:26 Hi Guys! I desperately need codes for my LG42PC55 tv! Tnx!
Homer1 4th January 2008, 13:58 anyone have codes for LG 50PC1D TV remote #6710900010C?
cheers :)
ghostrider1 4th January 2008, 22:52 Downloaded a new -ir-file(irremote 1.02),compared and succesfully changed the first digit in hex-format so it works with irremote 1.00 :triodance:
Switch the first digit(dot) from value 89 to 99 and there you have it!
Go to h**p://irremote.psiloc.com/ choose your device, download, edit,Go!
Try your Own,Upload lirc or pronto in wizard, name it,then find it as described above, edit,Go! Have fun!

kingkomarac 5th January 2008, 08:34 Ok, I got a question now, if someone tried allready how to make your own code for TV?
Cuz I have a ROADSTAR tv, <not in code list>, midea air condition <not one in the list>, sony mini hi-fi <not working with any from the list>, SAT-RECIEVER TOPFIELD 3000 coci <not working with any from the list>, in fact, only my hi-fi KENWOOD works with one of those codes.
So any help, suggestions, how to make your own or something so I can use it 4 more devices :) :) ???
Thanx...
ghostrider1 6th January 2008, 04:02 Here is another way to do it.......
1-go to [Only registered and activated users can see links] find your device
download,move it to your phone.
2-by x-plore,y-browser or similar open the hex of the code and modify
the first number from 8 to 9 [ as you see in the images] and save it.
3-open the new code by the basic file manger [not x-plore]
4-enjoy.........
Ps.you can try to open settings and modify the orientation to
where your ir-port is located.
353410 353411
I found this on the web, tried to do as he described it,but didnt get it to work at first!anyone brave out there?
Try it this....
install 1191 codes whitout download from internet
Works with Irremote version 1.0.0
1.Decompress the file to 1191_controles.rar and you found a folder called private
2.connect your phone in transfer files
3.Copy 2000C3EC in E:\private\
4.If has requests confirmation to copy the folder, select yes then already have in irremote 1191 codes Bad translation from spanish i think...

IF you have an ir-receiver:
(i tried winlirc and a seriell-ir adapter)
It is possible to create your own .cf (lirc) and upload them to psilocs website then Downlad them and Edit on your Pc (or the phone) and make it work.

neverend 11th January 2008, 19:37 anybody now a solution to this :
after copying all the codes in the memory card you get a HUGE list o devices without the posibility of search ...
adding them by .ir just makes irremote crash saying feature not supported
ghostrider1 12th January 2008, 07:30 It depends! which codes are we talking about?
The Psiloc_IrRemote_Database.zip ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Or 1191_controles.rar ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
The first one: Try using another file-manager to see if that works! Try changing location to c/ ,upgraded your version of irremote?
The second one: MUST have irremote installed on e/
A lot of info here also ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
neverend 12th January 2008, 11:37 the first one : it works...irremote gives a "code succesfuly imported" message after that it crashes with "Feature not supported" message...this is the same for everywhere i place the .ir files...doesn't matter if in c or d it still recognizes them and crashes after that. :angry2:
the second one : i've copied all those xml files in the proper location on the memory card and they work - i mean they show up in irremote but they all show up in the devices list where you would have to scroll through 1191 names just to find what you need because there is no search option. :angry2:
I now just use the standard codes irremote came with...they work on everything i've tried...it doesn't matter if it's not specificaly for that appliance..just the brand should be the same and it may work :snakeman:
thanks ghostrider1
xury 12th January 2008, 18:59 I wrote small script for WinHex to automatize fix all files downloaded from psiloc website to work with version 1.0.0:
Open "?.ir"
ForAllObjDo
Find 0x8912
IfFound
ReplaceAll 0x8912 0x9912
MessageBox "Replaced 0x89 on 0x99"
Save
EndIf
CloseAll
EndDo
Copy it to notepad and save as irremote.whs in winhex directory then run winhex press Enter and choose irremote.whs.When filerequester opened select all ir files and all will be fixed.

harrysk 26th January 2008, 01:32 Hello i've tried it exactly how it is said in the first post:
1. I sent the .ir files (from Psiloc website) through usb.
2. I open FE Explorer and move the files to E:\data\codes.
3. Now i use the phones file manager and open the codes folder.
4. Now when i try to open the files it says "file not supported".
My phones a Nokia N80 and i've installed the app. to memory card, and yes i have signed the file and yes i have tried re-installing the files.
So what do i do???
EDIT: I've attached the .ir files which i've tried to use.
And a MS Excel spreadsheet with all the commands to another tv of mine but i don't know how to convert it to .ir file.
Any Help:afraid:
gmagesh14 26th January 2008, 20:01 For R4nd4ll & harrysk
Try this steps
Send the *.ir file to your phone (C: or D:)
Open the LCG explorer and goto the location of *.ir file.
Open it with hex editor using LCG explorer.
In the first line of the code you'll see "99" followed by some numbers ,just change 99 to 89 and save the file.
Now open your *.ir file, it'll update the database.

Badger77 29th January 2008, 17:11 Hi
Can u please help me? I'm running out of ideas..
I installed ver.1.00 on my E51 in 3 easy steps (everybody knows the steps). It works ok. Now, when I try to load the codes (the 89 ones) i get the "file not supported" message, if I load the 99 codes, it's working, "file succesfully installed" -- "feature not supported", irremote stops working.
I tried everything: reinstall, install on memory card, on phone, I even tried installing the 1.03 version with DRM sollution 3.02. Nothing is working. I'm getting tired.
Any suggestions? THX

He must have been in a hurry it should be,Edit from 89 to 99 of course!
( I hope i wrote that before so i didnt confuse anyone! )
(I'm very sorry if i have done that!)
Badger77 31st January 2008, 16:44 Got it working.
In my case, if the code is "89" - file not suppported", the code must be "99", but if you try to load it, you get the "feature not supported" crap, and you must reinstall irRemote. The trick is before you run ANY code, run irRemote and set the orientation (left for E51). After that, the 99 codes will work like a charm. Sort off. In fact, sucks. I loaded the code for Panasonic car audio CARC60EX, and the controls are totally messed up, on the remote I have only "play" - works for volume up, don't know why, "pause" - volume down, "eject" - tuner/cd select, "next track" and "next dir". No operational buttons for play, stop, etc. Is there a way to edit the code files (buttons, position, function, code)?

ghostrider1 7th February 2008, 15:09 How To Use It On Tv Tuner Attached On My Computer Tv Tuner Is Of Frontech, monitor is of lg and mobile is nokia n73
If the tuner is built in(pci or agp for example) use bluetooth or wlan instead then you can use and control almost everything on your computer...
if it's not... and you cant find something thats works! Try to record your remotecontrol with lirc, winlirc or any other software,Use the IrremoteWizard, download, edit and hopefully it will work!

statica 8th February 2008, 16:36 Well thanks for all the help in here. I finally got Irremote 1.0.0 to import new devices which I had saved on my phone. I have a N95 and will just list the 10 steps I did to get it to work.
1. Install the .sis file and the 2 other files (remember to sign file no.3)
2. Get a HEX editor (I use XVI32 as its free)
3. Open the .ir file in hex editor and change the first value from 89 to 99
4. Save the file as an .ir file (ex. Panasonic.ir) Just remeber where on comp you save it.
5. Open Nokia PC Suite. Use menu File Manager
6. Find the .ir file on your computer and copy it to phone. Use same drive where you installed the program (ex. C:\Data\Others) no need for a subfolder.
7. Open File manager on phone (Tools\File Manager)
8. Go to the folder where you saved the .ir file (here C:\Data\Others)
9. Just click the .ir file and then Irremote should import the file.
10. Enjoy :0)
I hope this is helpfull and I know others have written these suggestions but just wanted to post them for other N95 users.
And I am looking for .ir file for a Panasonic TX-28DKF20 TV, Panasonice SA-HE75 amp/tuner and a Panasonic S35 dvd. Hope someone might be able to help with these files.
Thanks for a nice forum and nice help from all users :egdance:

Info here ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Start the software(on the computer) connect an ir-port(internal or external),turn your remote against the ir-port, follow the instructions, when finished you got a lirc/pronto to upload. the rest is history(described earlier)
check on/inside the remote then you could get a clue what type of remote it is,
Many remotes use the same codes, there are several sites to look up out there!
Or ship your remote to someone who can read out the codes!
It's not so difficult to use lirc/winlirc but some remotes are very tricky!
and it's not garantied to work.
I have heard rumours of a program used in older nokias for copying your remote-control directly,If someone knows, please confirm!

Yes.you can control the media player in ur laptop through bluetooth by using softwares like " bluetooth remote control " , " PuppetMaster " etc. which are posted in the applications section already.,

yashrg 2nd April 2008, 03:28 I think I know what the problem might be. The d40 file, on my computer, shows up as a quicktime file. even after completely renaming the file and removing the extention, my os still treats it as a quicktime media file. while others are shown as unix executable files.

transfer it to your phone and open it there...
So if you want to edit it in your system Goto "" My computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types -> Browse to the extension " ir " -> click it -> click delete-> restart your system ""..now it won't show it as quick time file..
yashrg 2nd April 2008, 16:30 yeah, I should have mentioned this before I am using a mac. But no worries, I opened the file in notepad and compared it to the nikon D70 file and found out some irregularities. And since the ir codes for d70 and d40 are same, I can now control my camera shutter using my phone. Only thing is, the ir mode in settings has to be set at number 6.

gmagesh14 11th May 2008, 21:10 Hello , Can anybody help me?
I downloaded a full version of Ir remote that was not full, now it is not working anymore.(E90)NOKIA.Anybody has a full version for it ? Please?
Thank you very much!.
Ask in the correct section..Full version with crack file is posted earlier in software section..
jumpjack 16th May 2008, 21:38 I downloaded PRONTO file 6711r1p070b, and it works like a charm with my Nokia 6600 and LG DVD Recoredr RH 255 even from 6 foot... aparte for a thing: the codec is for a PLAYER... so it does not have the REC code!!!
How can I obtain it?!?
I can sample codes from my remote with audio card, and I obtained this codes for PLAY, STOP and START RECORDING:
PLAY:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
STOP:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
RECORD (missing code!!!):
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
The LIRC codec:
DOWNLOAD ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) (Downloaded from here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]))
How can I calculate the code corresponding to last sample?!?
In case you're asking yourself what I used for sampling... well, believe it or not, I just connected a standard TRANSMITTER (*) infrared LED to microphone input of my sound card, and started recording with Audacity at 76000 Hz. That's all.
Another question:
I read somewhere that apart from ON/OFF command they also exist separate ON and OFF commands for some devices, useful if you do not know the device state; where and how can I find these codes?!?
(*) It's not a typo: the LED is designed to TRANSMIT and it does not have any integrated circuit attached. It's a standard IR LED.

ak20000 17th May 2008, 13:20 Hello!
I just put all remote codes i find in a arhive rar and how to for easy put in your phone.
Downloaded a new -ir-file(irremote 1.02),compared and succesfully changed the first digit in hex-format so it works with irremote 1.00
Switch the first digit(dot) from value 89 to 99 !!!
Step 1:
Get the Database from attachment
Step 2:
Send the required remotes to your phone through any connectivity like irDA,Bluetooth or USB cable.
Step 3:
Now open LCG Xplore or other explorer(Y browser or other).(Not the default nokia file manager)
Step 4:
For remote codes sent via irDA or Bluetooth, the remotes will be stored in your message inbox. So by using LCG explore move (cut) the remote files in your inbox to "c:\data\codes" or if you are using memory card you can put in e:\data\codes.If the folder "codes" is not present in your C:\data ,then create it.
(or)
For remote codes sent through USB cable, just open the LCG Xplore and point to the location of the file and move it to "c:\data\codes "
Step 5:
Make sure that you correctly moved the remote codes only to "c:\data\codes "
Step 6:
Now exit the LCG Xplore.Open the File Manager(your defaut one),Goto phone memory and then open the folder named "codes"
Step 7:
Open the remote file, now it will automatically opens your Psiloc irremote application and the new remote will be added to your database.
jumpjack 17th May 2008, 17:59 I almost found a very easy method for ALL to be able to create their own IR Remote files.
I used a single standard IR LED:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
I simply connected it to microphone input if my audio card, a VIA AC '97, using a standard headphone cable
Look at the pictures.
Pick an headphone cable and cut its ending:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Separate the two small wires which compose the cable and remove their cover; you'l see any wire is surrounded by very thin copper wires; "pack" them up and join all of them together, from both wires:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Now you should attach the Led to the "naked" wire and to ONE of the remaining wires; don't care which one, anyone is good.
To attach the led, you can use a "proper method" like the one in picturesm, or any method you lke:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Just be sure the two wires connected to the two pins of the led are SEPARATED.
Now plug the cable into MICropohone port on your sound card and put the remote in front of the led:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Now you need a freeware audio recorder like Audacity ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
Start the program, start recording, press a button on the remote, and you should see "something" on the screen; just zoom in, and you should see something like this:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
This is the binary code of the button you just pressed.
Now comes the bad part: how to convert these data to LIRC standatrd format?!?
I have some data for comparison:
LG DVD Recorder RH 255:
PLAY :
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Corresponds to LIRC code 0x8C73 = 1000 1100 0111 0011
STOP:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Corresponds to LIRC code 0x9C63 = 1001 1100 0110 0011
I don't know how to pass from waveform to LIRC code, I just sampled a remote of which I already had the LIRC file.
Figuring out how to pass from waveform to LIRC code should allow virtually ANYBODY to "clone" its remote!
EDIT:
Look at this site to try to figure out which protcol is used by your remote:
[Only registered and activated users can see links] (panel on the left contains a list of available protocols).
Also this RC6 variant exist (RC6-mode6):
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
It's used in my satellite decoder (italian), which uses a Philips remote.

Try sampling your remote with method described here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), then post a screenshot of your result, to see if anybody is able to figure out the used protocol.

jumpjack 11th June 2008, 10:51 I eventually came up to an end on my project for turning any phone (IR-capable or not) into a remote control, almost for free.
it WORKS!
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
It was not easy ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) at all... but it works; now replicating a button on my remote is just a matter of minutes: I record the remote button with Audacity, i set-up a batch file, I run it, I copy the resulting WAV to phone and it's done!
Now I'm going to write a proper SW which allows easy nadling of generated WAV files.
jumpjack 17th June 2008, 13:17 UPDATE:
Now two programs are available for automatically generate needed WAV files to be reproduced by the IR LEDs connected to the phone (or to the PC):
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Use RAW2LIRC to convert sampled WAV to raw LIRC format.
Then use LIRC2LEDREM to create a .bat file per each sampled command.
Finally run each .bat file to generate the WAV files to be copied to the phone.
Don't forget to download SOX, used by .bat files to create the WAV!

This procedure doesn't work for me. Whatever I have tried the phone fails to recognize the file type .ir
Is there something different in version 1.03 in relation to the folder of the remotes' files?

*.ir is the file format of remote code.,Once you transfer it to your phone and install ,it'll be converted into *.xml by the Psiloc Irremote.,
It'll work without any problem.,
So go-ahead and get the codes from the link I gave..

Ricque 3rd May 2009, 22:21 plzz help me ir remote for all sat reciver. thank's
ghostrider1 8th May 2009, 01:50 Hi everybody!
First: You can find lots of stuff here...
Second: download directly from irremotes site
(a lot of testing which means a lot of crap to)
Or try the hard way, scan your remotes ir-beam and compare with other already listed.
Managed to scan a few with software found on links given before
To damird: samsung dsr9500 uses the same remote as samsung Tv called TM-59
Soon we might be able to copy down the ir-beam directly to the phone........
damird 8th May 2009, 17:29 Okay i'll try that but my irremote trial has expired.. Do you know where can i download the full version :/
miheeth 14th June 2009, 10:05 I can able to add the codes anywhere from my phone..
Whenever I open the *.ir files it automatically opens the Psiloc irremote and updates the database.
For people in India who are using TATA SKY (satellite) in their home, this is the remote code for you..
which version does this work its not opening in version 1.03

levmartiros 24th August 2009, 02:16 Hi friends.I found this technique to add more devices to your Psiloc irremote database without updating it through online.
