M:prayer: My pc is unable to start up .....It appears "<windows root>\system32\hal.dll"
is missing or corrupted . Can anyone share any experience or solutions.Thank you in advance..

try 2 replace attached file with ur old once may b this will solve ur prob !

I had the same problem - i just formatted my computer then reinstalled XP...
...It was actually a virus that infected my pc :D
... Pretty hard to get it onto your pc, since you cant boot in safe mode or anything... Unless u have a boot cd/floppy to boot the pc 1st.

you can try to copy the file from other pc, set your harddisk as a slave at normal pc, and copy the file that missing to your harddisk. Hope it help
