I have a new BlackBerry 8800 but its sim locked. Is there a way to unlock this device?

No any box for unlocking Blackberry 8xxx series you need to pay for code many site on web for Imei>code.

They ask 30-40$ for code! OMG, I think it'll stay locked :D

Try giving something in your operator A**.....Mine 8800 was also locked ....After kicking operator's a** they provided me the unlocking codes ;)

Try using gsmphonesource (google it). They unlock all my blackberries and other phones basically overnight. Prices are reasonable too.

Read my post above. Newer blackberries (as well as most phones) have specific codes to sim unlock them based on the particular phones imei number. There is no 1 code for all phones. You either need an unlocking service or an unlocker box..which costs way more than paying $20 for an unlock code.

The only service that I have used is gsmphonesource. I used to work at a cellphone store and we used them on a regular basis. They have also unlocked my blackberry 880 as well as my treo 680 (and countless other phones that I have used). If you use them..you will usually have your unlock code provided within 24hrs. No more than $20 (US). Hope this helps
