View Full Version : Symbian Symbian P.I.P.S VNC Viewer, Remote control your own pc![NEW]
mangoboii 28th December 2007, 14:06 Symbian has ported a VNC client to Symbian 9.1 using the new PIPS library
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
I would recommend all of you to install and try it. There are .SIS files for S60 and UIQ and it works better than any other vnc viewer. :weedman::weedman:
more info\user guides go to:
[Only registered and activated users can see links] both files in attachment to your mobile
Edit: If you can't install the pips app, it won't likely install because other programs use the pips library aswell, I've had the same thing, got an "update error"
Go to your app. manager and uninstall it. then install it again.
Worked for me.:ilove:

BaRTaSs 9th January 2008, 10:35 I'm still dreaming about application which can remote control my own PC (Surfing Internet from my copmuter in my phone...) but via USB cable... Something like mRouter on UIQ...
bchliu 9th January 2008, 12:02 Somehow I'd wish they convert the Remote Desktop client over to a native SiS code rather than VNC...
the Java RDP client is just too chunky and very slow.. sigh
fjodork 3rd March 2009, 14:07 Not working on N95-8gb either? Im getting UPDATE ERROR when trying to install(file is on the phone when trying to install, havent testet to install from PC)
minit3k 3rd March 2009, 19:03 oh yes, i like this one. every time i push the connect button my mobile restarts itself. i guess i'm a lucky guy... :))
I think I am the real lucky. VNC viewer v1.2 works fine on my E90.
As I remember I worked hard for it. Not all pips versinon works with this vnc. In my case pips 1.2 was the winner.

how to configure this application to connect to pc?
install real vnc server on your pc hxxp://[Only registered and activated users can see links]
its free !!
then open a cmd screen on your pc and do ipconfig (you wil see an ip adress), then first test this on the internal ip 192.168.*.* (something like that) of your computer .
you just have to fill in this ip in VNCviewer
the password you have to put is the same you set in the VNCviewer at your pc
thats basicly all
greets

ralle73 6th April 2010, 17:37 Has someone been able to get this to work yet?
I've used the files supplied in the post above. I first installed PIPS and then the VNC Viewer. Both installed OK.
I can start the VNC Viewer and I can browse through the settings and change things, but when I try to connect, the connection times out and i get the error message:
C:\sys\bin\VNCViewrEng.exe: ConnectToTcpAddr: connect: Operation timed out
Unable to connect to VNC server
