Block matching with a Darkstalkers twist.

Capcom will always be famous for its beat em ups with Streetfighter naturally taking top spot. Darkstalkers was another quality fighting game from the arcades but don't think it made quite the same impression.

As with Streetfighter's Puzzle Fighter, Magical Hammer brings puzzling to the Darkstalkers series. The game is split into about 20 levels or so with every other level being a boss challenge. The standard levels involve simple block matching until you have filled the colour gauges at the top of the screen. This is where the hammer comes in. The grid is always full but you can rearrange the blocks by nudging a row to one side. The block that drops off will appear at the top and hopefully you will have nudged one of the other blocks to create a match. Match three or more of the same colour and they disappear. Bonus points and chains are available.
