Java Emulator - IBM J9 v6.1.1 (WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment)
Requirements: PDA with WM5 or WM6 (Works on 2003 SE as well)
Overview: Arguably the best and most up-to-date Java emulator for PDA.
Installation from IBM's website is a major PITA, so I've simplified it as much as possible.
INSTRUCTIONS: (also attached as a text file inside the package)

STEP 1 :: Copy "J9-MIDP" directory to your Storage Card (to the root, so that you have it in \Storage Card\J9-MIDP\)

STEP 2 :: If you don't have Resco Explorer with Resco Registry Editor installed, go to STEP 3. If you have it installed, go to STEP 4

STEP 3 :: Open Resco Registry Editor and install it to your device (you can use keygen later to register it if you want.)

STEP 4 :: Copy regimp.reg file to your device (anywhere) and launch it ON THE DEVICE. Resco Registry Editor will open and ask you to import reg file to registry. Click Yes.

STEP 5 :: Importing the reg file into registry has registered .jar and .jad extensions to be used with the IBM J9 emulator. Now you can use any file browser and just launch any .jar or .jad file. It will automatically be installed into the IBM J9.

STEP 6 :: Select the java app/game you just installed in step 5 and click "Actions" -> "Launch".

Additional info:
regimp.reg registers .jad and .jar extensions to be used with IBM J9. Without it it's a major pain to install any java app into the J9. To install a .jar or .jad manually, launch "emulator.exe" from the bin directory of IBM J9. Then, click install. Then you have to enter a URL for the file in this format (example): \Storage Card\Games\Java\game.jad

This emulator is free for end-user. Although it may say "trial" somewhere, it means that the development part of it is trial. So don't be scared.

As far as I know, the D-pad is emulated as keys 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 on standard phone pad. Ever played games on a regular phone? Picture the standard phone pad and you'll see that "LEFT" = 4, "ACTION" = 5 and so on.

J9-MIDP can be renamed/moved to a different location, including the Phone memory. FOr that you will have to modify the paths in the regimp.reg file. TO do that, open it in the notepad, use CTRL+H to find and replace
"\\Storage Card\\J9-MIDP" with whatever path you wish. Notice that ALL SLASHES ARE DOUBLED!! For example, if your path is root\Program Files\Java then you'll replace it with "\\Program Files\\Java".

Folder structure inside J9-MIDP folder MUST be kept intact. Do not rename "bin" folder or the executable.
