TOPO map for europe 2008? i only found the one for US.... and POIs and speedtraps? anyone found and testef them until now?

In all your posts you show that you mixed everythink and didn't read manual.

First of all - the 25 code which the guys give to you is for unlock the map in Mapsorce.
Second - if you already make gmasupp.img file from Mapsorce and transfer to phone or you already have gmapsupp.img file from somwhere copy it to phone. Than you need to use keygen 1.3. Start Garmin app and from settings/about take out the garmin unit ID number and type in keygen at the top -click generate - the code which keygen give you (garmin XT unlock device code), copy to wordpade - save it as all files - named it sw.unl and copy to memory card in folder Garmin.
Than in select map product - if your map is not one from the list - you need to select custom mapset - there you need to put map ID (so, another code) and every map have it's own map id - find it here in forum the all list or ask for it. For example
MapID: 198 - City Navigator Europe v9
Map ID: 284 - City navigator Europe NT 2008
Type the map ID inside the field - click it OK and generate - than you get the code for unlock this map - copy to worpade file - save it as all files (not txt) adn named as gmapsupp.unl (the same name you have the map - just the prefix or end is diferent.

Than you copy to garmin map on the memory card, beside the map.

Start the aplication, cancel the connection with GPS, go with cursor to the top to bluetooth sign, click it disable it and choose the GPS you have Bluetooth or attached - unable it and wait for up to 15 minutes - OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.

One solution is to load the cards into compatible phones with Garmin XT and to read the CardId with the About option in the Garmin XT

well...i have the Europe map 2008, but it has .img extension.... what to do with it? i supose i have to install it, because when i open mapinstall, i can;t select any o the maps on it..so,PappaDocta what to do with the .img file, which is 1.36 gb large?

finally everything works fine here.
Took me a lot of time, reading all the threads and experimenting, but I succeeded in adding more maps to one and to make topo maps etc.
Everybody thanks for great answers to all questions. Reading all threads helped me a lot.

After reading the full 154 pages of this tread (yes, it took me a couple of days :hahaha:) I still have a problem with the tsrautostart.exe, it messes the # key in phones without the pen key, making it practically unusable.

Solutions proposed:

- Best Taskman, kill hidden process -- doesn't work on newer phones
- Y-Tasks -- can one kill processes with this ? (couldn't find how) :???:

Any workaround suggestion much appreciated.

Thanx, lost you there for a second :-) Got the file, thanx.
But still having problems figuring out where to get the MapID from, i am making a map of part Denmark and part Germany in Mapsource, and i can save the maps to my E90, but it keeps asking for the unlock code, nomatter what i put in the GMAPSUPP.UNL. Also being searching trhough a lot of posts, but can't find the KeyGen V1.3, maybe that is my problem? There was a post 1263, which i tryied, but could not locate LIC_ anywhere in the .img file.

Yeps, i am making the maps from the archive Garmin City Navigator® Europe NT 2008 DVD-ShareAll (**** BLUEBEAVER). I imported the maps in MapSource, used several unlock codes in Mapsource to get that part working, then exported the choosen maps to my unit from Mapsource, edited the GMAPSUPP.UNL file and put 284 followed by the long keyfile that i got from the KeyGen v1.1 using Custom Maps 284. Still won't work. Comes up saying 'Can't Unlock Maps for Garmin Device with Unit Id 2081612623, Do you want to unlock now? Offcourse i put in the Unit ID at the top in KeyGen V1.1. If you have KeyGen 1.3, could you try to make a Key for me using that Unit ID?

YYYeeeeehhhhaaaaaaaa, you're the man. That did it. But as somebody earlier posted that the MapID should be before the Key, that is absolutely wrong. Had to put in the key without the 284 code in front, and then it worked. Yep i was aware of the .TXT problem, i luckily hate to have the known file extensions hided on my system. What keygen did you use????????
1.3 but normally should work with 1.1 too

I did not see the post mentioned by you but...within UNL files should ONLY be 25 characters or multiple of 25 (depending of how many map sets you are within the gmapsupp file).

For Romania look for RO.A.D 2006. There is no map of Eastern Europe. You can extract Eastern Europe and/or Romania from City Navigator Europe NT 2008 (if you have the Mapsource version) but they will have coverage limited to main roads and some important cities (Bucharest and Timisoara for Romania).

With File manager go to Garmin folder and see if you have gmapsupp.img, gmapsupp.unl, sw.unl, gmapbmap.img.If you don't have this files,the app won't work properly.

Installed application, cracked.
installed Mapsource and RO.A.D. 2006, transfered map to phone with Mapsource but the application still says NO Map.
if i try to find an adress the application gives me 1. Romania....even i can see the cities names...but no map. any ideeas?

Did you transfered in the phone the files gmapsupp.unl and sw.unl, if yes in what phone folder?
How did you created the above files?
If you follow, very attentively, the instructions from this thread the program works and recognise the loaded map.
You can PM me in romanian language, it is normal when you look for a location to receve just "Romania" if the map is not recognised.

2. i've cracked using garmin kgen
3. create 2 files gmapsupp.unl and sw.unl (map id 931)
4. i've installed a mapsource and unlock Romania Map
5. uploaded the map to my phone

what's wrong? i see u are from Romania. can i contact u by phone or by yahoo id ??

You need to unlock the map for the phone. Use keygen again, introduce in the upper box the Device ID, and then select custom map, mapID 931 and generate (lower button) unlock code for the map (if you have keygen 1.3 this code also unlocks the map on PC in Mapsource). Paste this code only in a text file that you name GMAPSUPP.UNL and put this file in the Garmin folder of the phone. From now on you will see the map of Romania. For more maps search the Garmin threads and you will see how you can put up to 4 maps.

Did you transfered in the phone the files gmapsupp.unl and sw.unl, if yes in what phone folder?
How did you created the above files?
If you follow, very attentively, the instructions from this thread the program works and recognise the loaded map.
You can PM me in romanian language, it is normal when you look for a location to receve just "Romania" if the map is not recognised.

Has anyone used anything other than Garmin and found it better. The copy/paste bug with tsrautostart.exe is getting to me. I'd try Route 66 but with signing down it makes it a bit hard.

When I load in MapSource CNEurope 2008 NT, select with MapTool all the partial maps or just some of them the selection "Include route calculation data" is inactive.
This means that if I transfer the map in phone I shall not be able to navigate or means that the routing is standard and can not be deactivated?
Help please.

another question... Do you know if i can connect my phone to a laptop to use it as a gps receiver and use the maps installed on computer..
if i can remember well i had home a copy of route 66 for computer..and i was wonder if it's possible. (larger display for a long trip)

This version don't need to be signed, but you need to make codes with keygen for unlock for non Garmin gps and to unlock maps.

I have a problem with my Garmin Mobile XT v.4.10.60.
I chosed romanian voice, the map is ROAD2006, after I plan a route, Garmin speak for few seconds and after that stop. In the left bottom of the screen there is an option, "Speak", but nothing happens.

Basically yes. Thus I've heard that NUVI will not accept gmapsup2.img, but only gmapsupp.img together with gmapprom.img and gmapbmap.img.
Somebody who have a NUVI too will be nice to confirm above.

Can anyone help with Australia NT v8 map (ID:272) and Mapsource.

I can get Mapsource 6.13.1 or 6.13.7 installed on the PC but cannot unlock it.

I have the map unlocked in the N95. I have unpacked it and done the registry edit to get mapsource working but still no go. I have tried the options available in the Mapsource Unlock program but nothing seems to work. The unlock program tells me I dont have factory installed unlock files if I try to get the software to grab the codes from the phone.

So any advice there would also be appreciated.

Also keep up the good work with all the info in this forum - I wouldn't have gotten this far without the info.

Turning it on will generate Internet Traffic. It will work full only in specific countries (Western Europe, US), otherwise will only provide Weather information (No Hotel rates, No Gas Prices, etc). All this info are aquired over the Internet.
My opinion is that is better to start it only when needed.

I try to install Garmin Mobile XT, but in the middle of my struggle suddenly the Mapsource and mapinstall isn't work. The message is to reinstall the application.
I do it on 2 computers: on the one that was installed before I get the same message, on the new one say that I must have a map purchased to install the application.

Hi,

I have uploaded to my phone the Middle East maps, but there seems to be a problem with placename abbreviation.

i.e. 'Mucat Private Hospital' appears as MPH

It is the same for everything... hotels, restaurants, etc etc

also, I cant do a search for a street name or anything.

other posts have refered to this problem, but I can't see any solutions as yet.

Is it a bug with GMXT or the maps?

i have a problem with my n95 :D

i installed GarminMobileXT 4.10.80 i registered it with key from keygen 1.3 => SW.UNL in garmin folder on the minisd card. when i have no map, the application works fine. after this i sent with map source(route 2006) the map of Romania on my phone(the ,img) i unlocked the map: i put file GMAPSUPP.UNL on directory "GARMIN" on my sd with the key generated from Map unlock key (code 931). and after this, when i try to run GarminMobileXT it doesn't work anymore. the program starts (with the black garmin logo) but after 10 seconds crash and i see only the menu of the phone.

after i delete the img map created with map source(route 2006) from the garmin folder, the program works fine but sure withouts maps.

so? what can i do. i tried two versions of map source and it's the same thing.

looks the bollox, but the program's trying to connect to an external gps receiver. Ive got an n95 and was hoping it'd connect using that. is there some sort of setting on it to make the bloody thing use the n95's gps reciever?

I would say, if you dont have a good external GPS, then it is not a bad choice but I think Tom Tom is better on whole.
Tom Tom is easier to use and to find POI's, even when you have loaded your know in Garmin:rolleyes:

can someone pls confirm if this works with a nokia n80ie as i installed it and it fails to recognise my external GPS, I read within this thread that it only works with an external Garmin BT GPS is this true? :(

i'm trying to install a Garmin Speed camera database to GarminXT on my N95, i've copied it to E:/garmin/POI/ opened Garmin, told it to use custom POI's, but they atill aren't showing up, any ideas?

Thanks, it's currently available I see on Piratebay. However it's going quite slow. I think the rapidshare file 13 is missing.

Reading the instructions on PB, they say to download via Mapsource onto the main drive, not the SD card. They also advice to delete the basemap before transferring. I dunno, that sounds like you're asking for trouble. AFAIK, Mapsource will create a gmapsupp.img file not a main file. In fact, what I think the upgrade should do is add onto the existing .img file on the main drive. If you create an additional gmapsupp.img file you will have a huge 1+GB file on your SD card.

I need some help with Auto Drive Hellas.

I have downloaded 1.25 version, copied all files to an SD card but maps are not recognized by my nuvi300 unit. I renamed one of the .img files to gmapsupp.img and it was ok but how can i use all images in folder?
