I made RO.A.D 2006 (Romunija) working on the PC with Map Source software, but how do I convert the same map information in to an .img file so that I could transfer to my mobile - symbian, Nokia E51? I have Garmin working just fine with the entire europe map, but I bet the RO.A.D 2006 (Romunija) is more in a detail map for Romania and takes/wastes much less space from my 2 G card.
On my phone I have Gar XT 4.10.80 working fine.

You have to connect your phone to PC in data transfer mode, select the whole map you want and then chose in MapSource Send to, the MapSource will find your device and will send the map to phone.

Attention. This will overwrite your existing map on the phone (gmapsupp.img). You better back it up before you do this procedure (or rename it gmapsup2.img or gmapprom.img and the same for the .unl file).

thank you guys. Hence, the map file installed on my card would be gmapsupp.img, ok and also the Unl file is going to be created conform to the key that was entered when I activated the map on the PC, is that right?
What about the routes calculation process, POI and so on, everything is going to be converted and work just fine as with the entire Europ NT 2008 that I have now?

Download any of the trial map from hxxp:////musang-pulut.blogspot.com/2008/04/samsung-mobile-navigator.html and use key gen to generate unl file and with SD Card ID and place file onto the garmin folder

It's quiet difficult as there are plenty of maps.
Let me have your specific request (what countries are you looking for) in order to cut down the list and I will try to help.
I ahve more than a yesr experience with Garmin so my advice is not to have all maps loaded on the phone but only on the PC. From there you can transfer them when you want, as you want

could iget maps for united states. namely california. others states might come in handy. will the maps work on v4.2

also, could some show me instructions on how to install the latest version and maps for america? i dont use a data plan so preloaded maps like this are better than google maps.

im new to this because i just found out there was this site.

284 is mentioned, but that doesnt seem to work. The garmin gets gps position on the 23mb world map, but the nordic code doesnt seem to work.

You DO NOT need any unlock code, is already unlocked. Just check not to have already another file with the same name (gmapsupp.img) as the old one it will be erased. If this is the case rename one of them to gmapsup2.img or gmapprom.img

I installed Garmin XT (Garmin V4.10.80 as_of_March2008) onto my nokia 6110, donwloaded the maps from the file: "City Navigator Europe NT 2008 preinstalled" copied it to the card...used the kyGen "garmin_kg_557" from JetMouse to create the Keys, I chose the map "City Navigator Europe NT v9". The kygen says: Garmin Mobile XT Keygen v1.1 (wonder if its the right one?!)

All in all I followed these instructions:

This keygen will generate unlock code both for device and locked maps that can be used with GMXT.

You can have up to 4 maps with the following names :

basemap - GMAPBMAP.IMG
detailed map - GMAPPROM.IMG, with text file GMAPPROM.UNL
detailed map - GMAPSUPP.IMG, with text file GMAPSUPP.UNL
detailed map - GMAPSUP2.IMG, with text file GMAPSUP2.UNL

The unlock code for maps it should be in .unl file.

for sw.unl i'm using imei converter then jetmouse.

hmm i thought the P1i had built-in GPS.. but it doesn't ....

why did you use the IMEI converter? is your card id # is small?

GPS 10 is BT GPS from garmin.

i've pairing it with my p1i and success

when opening GMXT there's no unit id before connect on BT GPS,so i entered my imei to get the unit id and crack it with jetmouse.

but when pairing again on GMXT it failed...

"could not authenticate Garmin GPS hadware" is appeared. then i tried to restart my phone and the GPS, but it still the same result.

may be there's a way to unlock the GPS unit? or else?

If you have a Garmin GPS you shouldn't need sw.unl. Garmin should connect to it, you only need a *.unl file for the map.
If you are still having problems with it, first, enable BT on P1 and pair your Garmin GPS with it, then open Garmin and search for GPS.

the lastest Europe map on Garmin is Garmin city 2010 NT and you can find the .dlc files for the directly .Img file format on this thread [Only registered and activated users can see links] or [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Because you did something wrong for sure, but i can't know what. I say you read carefully once again about how to install, maybe the folders and files structure is wrong.

I HAVE JUST INSTALLED ON MY N96.

THE WAY I DID IT IS DONT USE MAPSOURSE.

GET A COPY OF 5.0.10 AND EXTRACT TO YOUR MEMORY CARD THEN DOWNLOAD SUPPORT TOOLS ( FREE FROM GARMIN XT SITE ) THEN DOWNLOAD FROM SAME SITE BASE MAP AND INSTALL SUPPORT TOOLS THEN BASEMAP, THEN DOWNLOAD X-PLORE. PLACE YOUR MAP IN THE GARMIN FOLDER AND THEN 2 TEXT FILES USING NOTEPAD. DOWNLOAD A COPY OF GARMIN KEYGEN 1.5 BY JETMOUSE THEN FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS HERE.
I HAVE UPLOADED INSTRUCTIONS I USED
