Help please - I have Europe working 100% including buildings etc BUT when I go to USA map the screen does not show the map and when entering an address the keypad 'greys' out when you try and enter the street name. I presume there is a problem with the map I am using but both maps are from the same source.

Can anyone get igo8 to run properly on mio c520? Everything works for me but there's only one problem. After loading igo8 then put the gps on standby, turn it back on, igo8 crashes then reset the gps. Miomap 2008 doesn't have that problem but there's no USA maps for it right now therefore I can't use it. It probably has something to do with data.zip and sys.txt. Any mio c320/c520/c720 owners got their gps to run igo8 without any problems. Please help me out.

Well, I finally got this thing working on my PC in English after deleting all the Russian files, downloading all the appropriate English files and figuring out where everything was supposed to go, whether or not to extract it or leave it in rar files.

I have a problem guys with igo2008..The screen orientation doesnt work (i canged the sys file to:

And now i see the main screen again in "landscape" mode but from the other side. Is there any vertical view? i changed it to:

I also found that in another site for igo orientation problem:

"You have to rotate the pocket PC's display to landscape before running iGO.exe.Then inside the program you have to go into settings and change the screen orientation. This is made fun by the fact that the displayed buttons don't work, you have to guess where to click the screen to make them work. The program will ask you to reboot. After rebooting it will reopen and look the same as before. Exit the program. Set pocket PC screen to portrait, run the program and it will display properly, filling the screen..."

Gives me the impression that maps are also in beta stage. In my country (Greece) for example, the map of igo2006 is twice as big as for igo8. Many parts of the new map -especially in my hometown- lack any details. Probably they did not want to release a proper map yet (they could at least use as many details as in igo2006 map)

i have tested igo8(the version from portugal on my asus P526) and i have a problem-the aplication start and it's everything it's ok i can make changes to the language and other settings but when i start the gps(enter into settings and click on detect)the device freeze and then reboots

Use this to load them all (ages again!) then edit the lat/lon that you are only gonna drive by. I'm in liverpool and restricted the cam's to Lat 52.00000000 to 55.00000000 and Lon 0.00000000 to -4.00000000.
It changed my start up time from 7 mins to 1m 10sec. Try it and see what you think, Will.

Beta problems: 1) only landscape mode - not portrait

More beta problems:

3) display of map was completely messed up a couple of times for me, only showing half the screen, etc.
4) The voice over guy at one stage stopped reading directions, but started reading poems, sentences, completely useless stuff.. I kid you not.. Probably used to "train" the software for his voice, but not something I would want to hear when Im driving.
5) re-calculations when missing an exit didnt work on a number of occations.
6) TTS guy stuttering (not talking smoothly) every now and then.. This might be down to my IPAQ and its spec.

just came back from a trip and i could not say somthing bad about igo8 i went on an island and the damn thing showed me the roads(an island man not an isolated road)
it's true that some times the display of the map is fuzzy but not for long
the recalculation did work (be careful at the settings u have scope1)but with a small delay
in rest it's ok
when i'll go back in romania i'll see how it works there (in france now and happy with how the program work)

I use IGO since couple of months and it seems OK.
I also used it during the flight Stuttgart-Timisoara and was highly interresting...

Of course, we don't have the final release, but you can use it also the demo version...

Tried the patched demo yesterday - a bit buggy, but having simple things like showing whether the road you cross is a bridge over you, or when you're on an elevated section is great. Hope the final version is 'fixed' soon...

guys - need some help. I've loaded igo 8 and everything works great. I find everytime I shut down and restart IGO freezes at the splash screen. If I go into the SD card and delete the "SAVE" folder that IGO created in my last session I find it boots back up.
How do I fix this?

There are some problems with beta

Hi to the list,
i've found on the net the new iGO8 ( it looks like ), but i cannot make it run.
It seems to be the new one because i can see different strcutured folder then
the old one.
The maps are not enclosed.
When i try to execute the program, i get the following error:

The application failed to start last time.
Do you want to reset to factory defaults and lose all
your POIs,tracks and settings?

Any answer i give whether YES or NO, i get this other error:

Program application database cannot be found.
Please insert original application SD card.

Clicking on OK it returns in file explorer.

i've noticed that even if the whole folder is on the SD card,
i find in the Pda that have created a folder called IGO8, and in it i find the following ones:

CONTENT
CUSTOM
SAVE

If i try to delete them,and retry to execute the program, i get always the same errors described above, and i see again the folders said before created in the pda..

A cuople of times i could run the program, but i see the logo of the program for one second, I can see the words INIT APPLICATION that starts scrolling from right to left,
but after it quits.
I've tried on an HTC P-3600.
Anybody can help me to make it work?

Hi ascea, thanks for your short mail. I could not solve my problem. I have an PDA (MDA Vario = HTC) and use a mini-SD-Card 2 GB for iGO8. The tree of the card looks like in the attachment. When I had everything on the SD-Card I ran iGO8.exe from PDA-SD-Card. It started, asked me for the lnguage, I confirmed and then the prog iGO8 came up with the starting screen (winding street with iGO My Way logo in center and GPSAPP CTOR in the lower right corner). No error message came up, the prog just froze. I had to do a reset. A new test, replaced iGO8.exe with iGO8.exe (no_time restriction) did not solve the problem. Please could you check if I have the right file-dir-structure on my card or do I have the wrong -.lic or license.db? Thank you for help, astorgus

astorgus; the problem you are having is due to the time it takes the program to load the speed camera file.. Leave it running (even though it looks like it has frozen) for a couple of minutes and it should start.. Failing that delete the speedcam file/folder and it should open much faster. :)

i'm using igo8 for 2 weeks now and he works perfectly,he's showing the one way streets(earlier version doesn't have tht option) but the program isn't complete yet
in order to have a version with all the buildings we need to have in content/building aside from the base building file(hungary.3dl witch is the base building map only with the important building)the hungary.3dc(a .3dc file)witch is the file with the common buildings witch is available only for hungary and for germany for the moment

I got the uk.3dc from the PSP version of IGO8.... only has uk stuff though!

i think there may be some diffrence betwen the 2 files
i've made a test with the gps off with the 2 files i have and it's ful 3d but only for hungary and germany

I have the iGO 8 (SD-card) software on my Mio C510 320x240.
On my flash disk the V3.2 crack is running, iGO 8 on the SD-card and both are working well.

Yet still a few problems for iGO 8, hope this forum can help me.

1. Data.zip is a bit too slow for me, why? I have an SD-card, with already the miomaps on it.
2. When driving the wrong way, the software doesn't calculate immediately a new route, you have to acknowlegde to choose a new route, can this somewhere being activated that the route is automatically being calculated.
3. When I push the screen ON/OFF button on my Mio, when running on iGo, software restarts again, soft reset and it goes to Miomap... When I run on Mio V3.2 and pushing the same button, screen goes ON/OFF. Is there a way that this doesn't happen...?
4. Can I get a clear DATA.ZIP for clear view, I find the iGo day not so clear... When driving on the freeway, the roads are dark and black and want i like miomap... So a very shiny and bright skin. Thank you!!
5. I have enabled the speedcams on iGo and I have speedcam.txt on my SD\iGO8\content\speedcam. On the road I don't see the speedcams... Why?
6. On my SD-card there is also iGO8\content\texture, there are files in it like arrow.tex, car_goose.tex, car_green.tex; I suppose with this you can choose between a car or arrow in different color, where I can choose that or do I have to modify the text file (systext.)

Hi! What Kind of Modding skin is this? It seems to be iGo running under Centrafuse!!! How is this done, and how can i have it?
I Already have RoadRunner with simplistique skin and Destinator running in my e46, but i would like to go with Centrafuse. I have 1.20 version, and i like to put iGo for pc in it. I have all theese softs running alone, but not together. So, which is the way doing that? I can give you any soft you would like...

Guys, this is not a cracked FINAL version. The final version is 8.0.0.31442 and it doesn't play on Mio devices (yet) because the crack is not done properly, most likely.

This posted file version is 8.0.0.29000 a pre-final beta from February, do not use it (it crashes on mine).

I am not arguing about your file or your help! I am just pointing out that these files (a) are not the final release (b) do not work on Mio P550 which is a PDA. Luckily for you it works, but you have a PNA :good2:

i am using igo 8 for 1 month now and i am satisfied (beta version from february and from a week ago final release)
it's working well on my asus p526,i have 3d,buildings(just the important ones for now)and the map is very accurate
so gj to who ever crack it

I did it with prog Export2iGO, import .acs file from poiplaza convert to .txt
put it in \SD Card\iGO8\CONTENT\SPEEDCAM and start iGo8, iGo8 started longer but made speedcam useable. On the next restart of iGo8 it start normaly. Tested in the car it's working.

ok man be cool :) you are a new country, relative, the map is FYROM (former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) but i think you should search for it in the thread that is not beta.. and no, FYROM is not Romania :))

Also, it seems that in commands.csv at the Exit part, at Point 0 (just before 800) extra text have to be added. I inserted the files and have highlighted the part, from what I think what is wrong. If you wan't to maken voices louder, you have to add "\volume=100 " in front of the Dutch texts in de commands.csv file.

Dat is vreemd. Bij mij hoor ik wel gewoon de straatnamen. Je zal dit al wel gedaan hebben maar voor de zekerheid je moet vanaf hier http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=257&t=41509 de nederlandse stemmen downloaden deze installeren en dan de bestandjes vervangen met die ik gepost heb. Zo heb ik het iig gedaan. Hoor wel of het dat was?:weedman:

Was not aware of that. I won't comment on mean British education.
Even if "Pela" meant a city that is in current FYROM, it wouldn't mean a thing, as ancient Macedonia extended quite north in the Balcans.

BUT, Pela isn't even up there. It is a whole region (in fact a whole administrative division in current (don't have to say "Greek") Macedonia.

I am not sure if I want to laugh about this video though.
Propaganda seems to work using paths I cannot follow (that is the whole point I guess).
