Just plug the HDD to IDE and power cables. Set the jumper to slave. Then turn on your PC.

If you hear excessive noise, the HDD may have damage or bad sectors so better yet format it first or dispose it.

Good luck

Pull-out the hard disk from the old CPU then plug it to te CPU which you will use. There are no special IDE cable. It is like a flat wire commonly gray color.

Just look check the cable on the existing HDD then you have a basis how to plug another HDD. By the way, if you plug the IDE cable on the hard disk, the color red stripe must be on the right side (you are viewing the hard disk from the back, not at the bottom).

Good luck and enjoy learning :)
