punjabi_munda 30th January 2008, 19:50 Hey Guys! Check out this amazing update of the N73 Text-To-Speech (TTS) SMS Reader.
THE N73 TTS SMS READER V1.50
If you haven't tried out the original release, check out this thread ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
Overview
The N73 SMS Reader is a convenient and innovative text-to-speech message reader and inbox backup solution for your smartphone. It enables you to take full control of your text messages using simple joystick navigation and reads out all messages for you without letting you strain your eyes to read from the phone screen.
You can also make backup copies of all your messages using the N73 SMS Reader. If you happen to accidentally delete an important SMS, or your SMS database becomes corrupted, you can then rely on the backup copy that the program has created for you.

Thanks ....
Leong428 31st January 2008, 16:33 I have a N95-1, installed EVERYTHING to phone memory but still no go. My python was working fine before this so i dont think thats the prob.
When i clicked the icon the screen just flashed but nothing happened.
punjabi_munda 31st January 2008, 19:32 seems quite weird. I've tested it on two N73s so far and its still working without a glitch.
One other thing...do u guys have any existing messages in both inbox and sent items? Please ensure that u do and give it a try once again.
gbh1966 31st January 2008, 21:55 I'm thinking that this must only be compatible with the N73 at the moment, shame as its a nice looking app .......

U cud very well be right...here's what i did to make it work on the N73:
-=- Use 'phone memory' for storing all messages. (Open Messaging>Settings>Other>Mem in Use)
-=- Made sure there were some messages in both inbox and sent items.
Try it out on ur N95 and let me know what happens. Could be a bug and nothing else...

I copied all my messages in my imbox changed my storage memory from phone to 2GB miniSD and no change. The N73 seems to have something other phones do not :P.
When I installed python and then the script I was asked if I want to downgrade. Python installed itself with 3.0 and the script was 2.0 or something like that. Could that be the issue?
gbh1966 31st January 2008, 23:29 OK ......
Got it working on my N95 !!
I DL'd the files again from the link in the blog I found earlier today ....
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
First I un-installed the Python+Shell I already had on my phone (yes I did already have 1.4.2), re-started my phone and then re-installed the Python, Shell + App from the new DL'd - tried it and hey presto it worked :)
The only bad news is that the robot type voice that reads out the txt is really hard to understand so the prog isn't as useful as I'd hoped ....
With any luck this'll get it working for you other peps as well ... :ilove:

bahrum 1st February 2008, 02:05 tanx bro , i will inform u after installing on my phone

Yes that might be the issue. You may have two different versions of Python and the script shell in use, hence the conflict.
Try this in the exact order listed:
- REMOVE Python and the script shell from App Mgr and not directly.
- REMOVE this app
- Restart ur device
- Install the latest Python that is provided with this to Drive C
- Install the script shell that is provided to Drive C
- Install the app
- Now try running it
Hopefully it'll work :)
punjabi_munda 1st February 2008, 07:12 Guys, I just got this to work on the N95....woohooooo!!
Try the above tutorial out. It might take a long time to load if you have many SMSes in the inbox. That's the only downside really, but it's finally working!!
PAMANFIELD 1st February 2008, 07:28 my N73ME i get TTSMS System error (-2)
punjabi_munda 1st February 2008, 07:42 my N73ME i get TTSMS System error (-2)

Make sure you install python to phone memory and also ensure that you some text messages in BOTH inbox and sent items.
