Hi guys i an using a map for Greece with Code ID 198 Greece 7.08. What is you expirience with Anavasis or some other map better for Greece than this one? If so, please explain where to get working map. I got Auto_Drive_Hellas_v1.30_en somewhere but can't install. Always say that something is wrong in some strange letters - maybe Greek, which i can't understand.

hello, I have a n95 and have installed garmin 4.10.80 it recognizes the internal gps but on the map there a "no gps" and when I try to map a route or go somewhere I get a "auth failed". What is going on?

I downloaded all the files but I'm not sure which version of Autodrive to install, the Greek or the English one. There is no way of searching with English characters in the Greek version, is there?

u probaly use garmin folder of one version and sis of other version.so install garmin folder and sis of one specific version

Hello, all... I think I did everything as you described, Ari, but in my Garmin folder there is no SW.unl. And my internal GPS cannot be used.
I also tried to put the 3in1 map, but how should the .unl file look like with 2 activation keys? One under the other? I did that, and it says map cannot be unlocked...

Please help.


EDIT: Ok, I made the SW.unl file myself, and now the GPS works. And since I couldn't get the gmapsupp.unl to work by creating it, I entered both codes for maps 822 and 295 manually, through the program, and I guess it created the file automatically. It starts now.
However, when I go to choose the maps, I get TWO (2) instances of anavasis 360, that I can tick off. (So FOUR maps in total). Plus, I can't search, whichever language I use to input an address it just says "None found".

Any suggestions?


EDIT 2: It seems by installing the 5 to 1 map I can now search. I discovered that the keys have to go one after the other in the unl file, with no spaces. I again get 6 maps, because Anavasis 360 is listed twice, but I suppose it's normal. What I'm not sure about, is how the maps work together. The map that comes up is in Greek. But I can choose many countries (Ellas, Ellada, Greece, Elliniki Dimokratia), what is the difference when I do that?

EDIT 3: I've been fiddling with this all day now, and I think I've figured most of it out, but still I'm writing just in case someone had the same problems.
I also found out, that the program has to be in Greek if you want to see the POI. You can change this from the settings. If not, delete the file gmsup(2) from Garmin\Apps\Symbian\Res

You forgot tu make unlock codes. Here is the total manual. Use just from the number 6. on.

ENGLISH MANUAL
1. Download Garmin Mobile XT GPS, for example from: [Only registered and activated users can see links] Run the EXE, it will copy all files to your SD card.. (I used a card reader instead of plugging in my phone, but you can,just be sure to select USB transfer mode)

2. Download update, for example from: [Only registered and activated users can see links] Run EXE, it will copy all your files to SD card..

3. You have to download for example - Garmin MapSource City Navigator Europe NT v9 with a working unlock key. There are keys that say that the map is unlocked but in reality it is still locked! So get a proper one ..

4. Once installed on PC and unlocked!, you can select any country/ies on the map and export these on your uSD/SD card - select the countries you want and EXPORT to the SD card.

5. On page 35 you can find all the mapID codes - for.ex, maps created with MapSource + Garmin MapSource City Navigator Europe NT v9 = ID 197 .. it doesent matter how many countries you select in MapSource, the ID is always 197..

6. Back to page 1 - grab the keygen.

7. Run Garmin Mobile XP on your phone, go to the ABOUT screen, write down the CARD ID

8. Enter the CARD ID in the Garmin unlock Generator 1.3 in the box Enter your Unit ID here: - than click on Generate and copy to sw.unl.

Than in the box Select Map Product select the map or custom mapset - when you choose it in will open the second box in write inside the MAP ID,
click on the generate and copy the unloock code to gmapsupp.unl.


9. Create the files sw.unl and gmapsupp.unl, what you have to paste is written the TXT file that came with the keygen, READ IT!

10. Copy the 2 above files to SD CARD\Garmin

11. Run Garmin Mobile XT, it will try to connect to your GPS device - and yes, ANY GPS BT device and any phone!! That's because the unlock codes are now in the GARMIN directory.

12. In SYSTEM - REMOTE GPS -> your BT GPS name will be shown.

13. IF you don't create the 2 files as mentioned in step 9, THEN in SYSTEM - REMOTE GPS --> you can ONLY pair with a GARMIN GPS DEVICE!!

Since we cannot search in Greek with this version, wouldn't it make more sense to have the english version of autodrive on, so that the placenames from this map are also added to the search? Or does it not make a difference?

whatever map of autodrive u have search will work with <<search engine>> of europe city navigator 2008 map .so greek or english autodrive may affect only appearance of the map not searcing.

Aha...so what about the extra roads that those maps might have? On my pc I tried anavasis and autodrive, and some roads were called slightly differently (p.x. Miltiadi vs. Miltiadhou), or others were missing on one and not on the other.

After extensive messing about, on my phone (N95-2) and a friend's (N73), I can confirm that both of Aristo's combo versions (3 in 1 and 5 in 1) work fine, however:

1) For some reason, the 3 in 1 map needs your phone to be set to the Greek language, otherwise the search function doesn't work. (Not just change the writing language, but also the phone's language to Greek). Only one country is displayed, ΕΛΛΑΔΑ.
2) The 5 in 1 map works much better. And I can keep my phone in English, like I prefer. In this version however, the search engine is provided by the Europe city map only. It does nevertheless give better results than the 3 in 1 version, and it has streets not found there. 4 countries shown at the beginning, Ellada, Ellas, Elliniki Dimokratia and Italia, unless you pick italia, the address searches give identical results so it doesn't matter which one you pick.
I have decided to keep this one.

Thanks Ari again for all the help and hard work you've put into making them. I can't repute you enough! Maybe a tutorial would be now in order on how to make our own combination maps? ;)

I think these two maps must merge in one because when i put autodriv 1.30 in english and anavasis 3.60 seperatly in the sd card the kenwood see only the autodrive but not the anavasis . I used to have the "old" 5in1 map by aristotelis2060 and now that the new 5in1 includes the new version of the Anavasis map (3.60), I decided to download and install it from the links of the first post.
I have the same problem as I used to have once that I tried to use an older version of the 3in1 on my N82. The application doesn't start. I have the Garmin 4.10.80 version on a Nokia N82.

Is it maybe the map??? Is there a possibility that the new 5in1 map could just be incompatible with the 4.10.80 version of Garmin???

Ok, I found my way around. First I installed the 4.10.60 version over the 4.10.80 (I overwrote it) and then again the 4.10.80, but that didn't do the trick. The map kept on refusing to run.
Then I completely uninstalled both versions, I re-installed the 4.10.60, I ran it, then I overwrote it again with the 4.10.80 and the new 5in1 worked like a charm. The only bad thing is that when I completely uninstalled both versions, I lost my data. But I guess that is of minor significance, once I have Aris's super-duper-map.

Simply because the 3in1 map contains 3 maps, 2 of which need to be unlocked: Autodrive 1.40 (Map ID: 822) and Bluechart 2008 (Map ID: 295). The Anavasis map doesn't need to be unlocked.

That's why you need to make an .unl file (with the same name as the .img file) which will have to contain 50 characters in total, 25 for each of the maps that need unlocking. ;)

Install the previous version (4.10.60). It will ask you to overwrite. Accept it and and continue with the install. Run the 4.10.60. version with the 3in1 map in the Garmin folder, so that the version 4.10.60 reads it and recognizes it. Then close the program and re-install the 4.10.80 version. Again accept any overwrite message. After the installation, run the version 4.10.80. You'll see that you'll have no problem. That's what I did and it recognizes the map all right. :)

I am presently using ADH 1.40 English from your above file. Has been installed as per your instructions inside the file. Problem is that when transferred from MapSource to mobile device search function does not work (of course is not working in MapSource too but this is a known problem).
On the other hand I use to have both 1.25 and 1.30 versions and with them I have not problem with transferring the map from MapSource to mobile device - search were working perfect. I know I can use the original img file and it will work like this but I need to combine ADH 1.40 with other map sets too and to be able to search ADH too not only the other countries. As it works with 1.25 and 1.30 should work also with 1.40. Thus, somewhere missing something. Any idea?

Install the previous version (4.10.60). It will ask you to overwrite. Accept it and and continue with the install. Run the 4.10.60. version with the 3in1 map in the Garmin folder, so that the version 4.10.60 reads it and recognizes it. Then close the program and re-install the 4.10.80 version. Again accept any overwrite message. After the installation, run the version 4.10.80. You'll see that you'll have no problem. That's what I did and it recognizes the map all right. :)[/QUOTE]

This didn't work on my N82. The 3in1 worked fine in 4.10.60, but when i installed the 4.10.80, application crashed. With the above method i had no problems with other 3in1 , or 5in1 maps of Aris.

Unfortunately search does not work on WindowsXP (MapSource) nor after transferring the map from MapSource to Mobile device (Mobile XT). Not with this map not with the other one (with no registry modification). Have noticed that when gunlocker is unlocking the img files for ADH1.40 a message appear for basemap of ADH1.40 stating OLD HEADER!!!. Maybe this is the problem?

Search function not working (XP, unlocked with keygen 1.5)

As previously mentioned: there is at least one version of ADH 1.30 for which search function did not work in MapSource but it was working when map transferred from MapSource to Mobile XT / Mobile PC. This is not 'rumour' this is what I have personally tested. Unfortunately I can not figure out where is the problem with ADH 1.40 MapSource version which looks to be compiled from img file same way as 1.30 was.

What should i do to have adh 1.3 and 1.4 in the mapsource?

(A thought: Maybe change the "ID"=hex: value in the reg file? What does this value actually do?)

I try 3in1 English and search seem work fine. I try couple search and it's work OK. I Use prepared IMG file and transfer it on my Nokia. Application version is 4.10.60. One strange thing is when I go to tools>my data>Map source i see Anivasi 360 TWO times. It's anivasi transvered twice or??
One more question...Can someane comapre Anivasi 3.60 and Euro Greece 7.02?
Witch one is better, completer, detailed ???

Map id for AutoDrive English version is 821...not 822.

It's the classic problem with the 3 in 1 maps with Greek Autodrive... your phone needs to be in Greek for it to work. Try it.
I personally am using the English version of the maps, since I like my phone in English.

Is not this Tyx! I use to have ADH 1.30 in MapSource (actually still have it) and use to transfer in mobile device from MapSource and have the search function working. Unfortunately, version of ADH 1.40 for MapSource I have by now does not have valid Search function after transferring. The only version with search function working is the 'original' img file. Still, even no problem for me to use this one, sometimes I need to combine several maps in one from MapSource.
That's why I am looking for a working version of ADH 1.40 (working meaning that transfer from MapSource to img to provide an img file with search capabilities).
On the other hand, I am also using English as language for me phone because I hate translation made in my mother language.

Maybe we're talking about two different versions...the 3 in 1 version posted by Aris had that problem, your phone had to be in Greek. I haven't tested Venduza's one yet, I will later today.

Btw, has anyone found a way to use the Toponavigator maps in a mobile phone? They are much much better...

Just tested Venduza's 3 in 1 map in English ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), and I can confirm it's working on my N95 8GB, with no problem searching.
The 3 in 1 map from Aris works as well of course, but your phone needs to be in Greek.

I still can't make up my mind which version is the best for searching, as this version gives me roads that the 5 in 1 map didn't, but so did the 5 in 1 map, which used the City Navigator NT 2008 search engine...

I just update with the latest 4.20.00 version of Garmin MobileXT and i confirm that it is working fine on my N82. The latest 3in1 greek map of Vendusa's didn't work again, but the adh1.40_el it is OK. The GPS signal is a bit faster in location. Before the installation, i erase from Garmin folder the files: GarminMobileXT.sis and GarminMobileXT.py (from private folder). Of course, after update, don't forget to install GarminMobileXT.sis from garmin/apps folder.

ΟΚ.That's what i did and now everithing is OK! I reinstall 4.10.60 with the 3in1 map, i opened it and it worked. Then, i didn't install the 4.10.80, BUT:urtheman: the 4.20.00 directly. And it is working. Now i have the latest 3in1(with adh1.40_el) map. Thanks for the idea!

Still, PLEEEEASE, try to find a solution for ADH 1.40 EN in order to be possible to have it transfer from MapSource and obtain an img file SEARCHABLE (as it was for ADH 1.30 EN). None of the maps posted until now is working this way - we have the 'original' img file working (searchable) but is difficult to use it in case you want to combine it with other maps in one single img file. I do believe that you have done that with Greek version of ADH 1.40 but not (yet) with ADH 1.40 English version.
By the way, ADH 1.40 English version can or can not be bought official in MapSource format??? Could you please check this with Skordilis?

Now, in the first page there is a rapidshare link for Greece POI's. Unfortunatelly the link does not work anymore. Except poiplaza, is there a Greece POI's link/site (looking specially for Santorini POI's)?

Same to me. In my car kenwood 7200 with this map.


Anyone with a Kenwood 3100 system in their car? A friend of mine has a Subaru Forester which came with such a system. The maps are on a DVD from Denso/Kenwood, which he has to load before the GPS works. The problem is that the maps on the DVD are american, and old (2003). Is there any way of finding a newer DVD with Europe on it, or is there a way of using Aristo's maps with the Kenwood system? I know very little about integrated car navigation, excuse my ignorance. But my friend says he sees no usb port or anything that would allow him to load Garmin maps, other than a compatible DVD from Kenwood. (which I've looked for and can't find..)

I know I'm a little bit off topic but I have a general question...

The latest 3to1 map of Garmin (including ADH Anavasis and Bluechart) is it better and more complete compared with the latest NGI map offered in Destinator.

Because I've heard that tme most complete maps for Greece are those of MGI

they are as detailed or even better.especially the combined 3 in 1 or 5in1

One question though. How updated is ADH regarding one-way streets? I had many occasions where garmin wanted me to turn into wrong way.
Also in some occasions it announced to turn right while the map clearly showed to turn left!!! Maybe there is a problem with the greek voice? I don't know.
[Edit]... Don't answer... I found out at ADH site. Strange though.

In my opinion the embedded Route66 has better voice instructions/announcement, while Garmin seems more accurate and with way better map (using ADH I mean).
The only problems I have is the search being complicated, which I can get used to, but most important it gives me wrong directions into one-way streets.

Ideas, comments welcome.

you may have to paste the map on a 4.10.60 installation, run once, and the then apply the 4.20.00 installation in order to recognize the new map

They're written in Greek, so you have to change the language of the application to Greek if you want to read them (in Greek).

I'm searching a detailed maps of greece.. especially for Kos island.
So.. i've downloaded the newest garming, "3 in 1" map mapsource, unlocked all.
but.. 2 problems:

1) If i start garmin xt mobile and stop bluetooth searching.. then it report an error about maps unlocking, then maps not available. If don't stop.. no error.. maps available.

2) Kos island not detailed!! Only the names of the major town and airport! Any suggestion?

I need a maps of Kos and a poi's selection, if available.. but i don't know how to proceed :(

Ok i've downloaded the gmapsupp.img file, created gmapsupp.unl with 25char code (one code for each map to be unlocked.. total 50chars).
I'transferred all in the garmin dir (memcard\garmin).

Strarting the software.. it show the splash screen.. but before gps disclaimer it crash closing itself!!! No way!
If i delete the gmapsupp.img file.. it start again and work with the basemap!
Help help help! :(

I've garmin 4.20.00 by defcon with the img posted 2 days ago by kloklo60.
Garmin unlocked, with sw.unl and paired with bluetooth gps.
Map gmapsupp.img in the garmin root (memcard\garmin) with gmapsupp.unl file.
I've scanned img file with parseMps and i've got the unlocking codes (written in the unl file).
I've tested also with other unlocking codes generated by keygen with my esn/cardID (4182).
No way.

I think it's not an unlocking codes problem.. 'cause the app crash and not show any error.
If i delete the map gmapsupp.img it work great with the base map.

Firstly, please post in English.
To answer your question, you don't have to go through the process of re-installing the whole thing, if you want to keep the version you have. Just install the new map in your E:\Garmin folder.

I guess I have to post in english. I followed all instructions and installed the 4.10.60 version with the latest 3-in-1 maps. All works fine, instead I cannot search in Greek. Mou ta vgazei kinezika. I have the menu in Greek language. English search is ok. Please help. Any ideas?

I have installed it in greek language!When the application starts it says "δεν ειναι δ" the message is exactly as i say and it prompts for 2 choices yes or no
If we choose yes then it asks

If we choose no it continues and finds gps satellites!

You are probably not unlock maps correctly...If you are using English 3in1 map need to use map id 821 for autoDrive...not 822 (822 is for greek version).

Using GMapTool found:

FID 313, PID 1, Region ID 2, VenID 21

unlocked OK with JetMouse keygen v1.5. and created gmapsupp.unl


If you want to copy chart on another SD card to use with GARMIN GPS units, I think you need to learn the card ID by installing a copy of Garmin XT on it and unlock as usual.

so mapid is 313.

I have a problem. Although the TopoNav works fine on my PC, when i try to download it to the GPS (Garmin Etrex Vista HCX) the result is that the information is not transfered, as well the map is not transfered. Only some blue line over the sea area.

Is there any posibility to use Autodrive Hellas on a PC and not on a Garmin. I don't mean with Mapsource (search doesnt work). I mean to navigate with a software on a notebook with gps unit. And the software uses the map (Autodrive Hellas for instance).

Like it works with the software TravelBook and the Map&Guide maps.

I want to navigate but dont invest in a garmin unit, and use my notebook with gps.

The sw must not use Autodrive Hellas. It can also use another map (with Crete on it).

I only need a hint for the sw, I'll search the rest by myself

I have been trying to install Garmin mobile XT S60 4.10.80 in my Nokia N82 but after succesfully installing it crashes.
The same thing happens with the earlier version 4.10.60 - crash again after installing. I have seen other people having similar problems in posts.

Has anyone succeded to use Garmin XT with Nokia N82 - If yes could you please let me know which version works and if it is one of the above, what I may be doing wrong?

Aristoetelis plz remind me how to unllock the img file. I cant remember how to. Do I just create a txt file with the codes and rename it to unl and then put it in the same place where img file is?

FOR THE LAST TIME


UNLOCKING GARMIN XT MOBILE

1) open application on mobile (GUIDE HOW TO INSTALL ON OTHER FILE)

2) Launch GMXT, got to Settings -> About.

5. Make note of your UNLOCK ESN .WRITE IT SOMEWHERE.THIS IS YOUR UNIT ID

6. Launch the keygen, and type in your "UNIT ID" into the "Unit ID" field.

7. Hit Generate button to generate device unlock key.

8. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated device unlock key to the clipboard.

9. Now open the Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file as SW.UNL

10. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and restart GMXT.

Now garmin will recognize your inbuilt gps





INSTALLING and UNLOCKING MAPS

COPY IMG FILE TO E/GARMIN FOLDER

THREE NAMES ARE AVAILABLE FOR IMG TO BE SEEN FROM GARMIN

so use one of them for the maps.as u understand only three different maps can be used at the same time.give one of these names to .img you have downloaded.




UNLOCKING MAPS

1.The first thing to know is the map id.i have write it inside every map i have uploaded.if not there then no need for it (like anavasis)

2.open keygen.then type your unit id.it can be seen if you open app and then go to settings- >about-> u see the esn unlock number.this is the unit id

3.go to select map product.there are some ready maps there.if your map is not there then select custom mapset.select it and typoe the mapid

4.click generate

5.copy paste code to a new txt file.then save.
6.rename txt file to name.unl
when i say name is the name of your map (one of the names given before)same as map of course.
7. copy the unl file to same directory as the map (e/garmin folder)
8.restart application.map will be unlocked of you did them all ok.

it contains only english-greek languages and voices.thus it contains some missing files like the poi files and garmin jpg files.i also have changed properties of some files so as not to see images of garmin in images application of s60.just copy garmin folder to root of your memory card and install sis.

note * delete the file gmsup in folder garmin/apps/symbian/res and here you have additional language selection option

yes Karlesg. im greek also (megale). i installed it in my E90. voices, menu everything is in greek or whatever language you choose. in first post i said that its multilingual.

as i can imagine even if you use mapsource to transfer map to kenwood it will need unlock to use it.they only way i know to unlock maps is the unl method.kenwood may not recognize unl.garmin should.i dont know something more.

While trying to install maps in mapsource with mapsetoolkit i have a problem. There any img files in the folder. Which one should i choose for mapstool?Ech img is a small part of the map only

first my friend you have to write in english. which one is your mobile? the following link i think is a good start. it contains instructios on how to unlock garmin mobile xt and how to install and unlock maps with keygen and stuff. the best things to do first is trying to install ver 4.10.60. run it make sure that everything is working including maps and then upgrade with ver 4.20.00 or the latest 4.20.20. this is to make sure that you will not have problems with greek maps like 3 in 1 or 5 in 1.

Hello from m2. I would like first of all thank you all guys for the great info which you r passing to everyone. It is extremely easy everyone to follow instruction but....to mess with them as well. To get to the point....I installed the 4.10.60 version of the initial page. Everything run smoothly as the should:-) but afterwards as most of us I believe I tried to experiment a bit so I tried to install/upgrade to 4.20.20 so...proceeded and downloaded aristotelis (not sure....too much staff has been read:-( )downloaded file and currently I have 4.20.20s60.9.tw with Auto Drive (Hellas) Greece 1.40 (Greek)map installed. As mentioned it messes with fonts and when I am placing English as language I am incapable to search whereas if I try to change language I have only Chinese or something...so without wanting to loose any of your time I have 2 questions to make and kindly ask you to accept my apologies if I was not able to view the answer if given earlier.
1. how can I make this version GrmMblXT_4_20_20_S60_en-gr works for searching?(change language to Greek-ah Elladara se agapo kai as min kataferes na perasis apo tin vromoargentini!oi fardikoli vazan triponta apo tin sentra!!!!)

Now since I had issues and without knowing why honestly, the upgrade for me at least from 4.10.60 to 4.20.20 did not work! As mentioned above downloaded the one of jeronimo maps 3-1, unistall it from phone, delete folder as well and install from scratch 4.20.20...that was it!

Good morning to all. Vageli well....in order to gain as much as you can from it.....you have to experiment (have to admit though that...4 sure the bug on my head...well how may I say it...helps me to proceed to expiriments:-)).
Unfortunately I tried it yesterday and...honestly the navigation is not as good as Destinator ones:-(. when routing it makes some unnecessary circles hopefully they will improve in the future versions!and in addition ngi is already try to create a version for symbian phones! future is very promising.

for this job you'll need mapsource my friend or maybe some programs provided in the first page of this topic (i thnik they are at the bottom of first page)

thnx Jeronimo!once more you are right!I will try them. honestly after 3-4 days using the application honestly I have to admit I am really disappointed. routing is really awful it keeps sending you from streets which are closed!(unless it believes that with my Africa twin I may pass through buildings!) makes unnecessary circles and does not have as well crucial routing avoidances! For example daktilio(sorry do not know the English word)or Attika road. Instead some really stupid exists! U turns, unpaved roads major-minor-medium roads etc.
Nevertheless to people like you jeronimo,aristotelis dimkt and all the others from my part at least a great thank you for the complete and detailed presentation of this application! hopefully sometime I will be in a position to assist others too:-)

I think you're exaggerating a bit, Adamantio. I used it quite extensively as well during my holidays last month, and it worked fine for me. Attiki odos can be bypassed if you set it to "avoid toll roads", and the unnecessary circles can be minimised if you tell it to use the shortest and not the fastest route. Personally I found some better routes that I didn't even know existed!
As for the congestion zone (daktilios), unless the software is designed specifically and uniquely for Greece, and more specifically Athens, it can't be incorporated in the routing, as the "ring" on odd and even calendar days is almost uniquely a Greek thing. How are you going to put that in the routing? Unless they put the whole centre of Athens as a toll road or something. That might work.. But in the meantime, come on, everyone knows where the ring starts...

I found this program to be one of the best I've used for Greece. Far superior than Sygic, which almost invariably gives stupid routing. In Athens sometimes Route66 is admittedly better. But overall, this is the best choice for Symbian at the moment, imho.

I hope Skordilis works on fixing the one-way streets for the next revision of their map especially in Athens.

And thanks to Aristotelhs and the rest for making the maps available to us.

Unfortunately though it is like my bike and my car. From Nea Smirni to Maroussi I need top 30 min with bike regardless the trafic whereas with my car for same trip I need minimum 45 min so...as with GPS software when someone has been used destinator 6-7 of ngi, unfortunetelly only on WM bloody devices so far (has conjestion zone, has details of toll roads, has better by far fixes of one-way roads, and does not even contain so many errors of roads as mentioned before), and speaking only for Greece routing well...comparison is unavoidable. But since I do not want to mess the great job which you have all made on this topic I will stop here expressing my thanks to all of you!

I think you're exaggerating a bit, Adamantio. I used it quite extensively as well during my holidays last month, and it worked fine for me. Attiki odos can be bypassed if you set it to "avoid toll roads", and the unnecessary circles can be minimised if you tell it to use the shortest and not the fastest route. Personally I found some better routes that I didn't even know existed!
As for the congestion zone (daktilios), unless the software is designed specifically and uniquely for Greece, and more specifically Athens, it can't be incorporated in the routing, as the "ring" on odd and even calendar days is almost uniquely a Greek thing. How are you going to put that in the routing? Unless they put the whole centre of Athens as a toll road or something. That might work.. But in the meantime, come on, everyone knows where the ring starts...

I found this program to be one of the best I've used for Greece. Far superior than Sygic, which almost invariably gives stupid routing. In Athens sometimes Route66 is admittedly better. But overall, this is the best choice for Symbian at the moment, imho.

I hope Skordilis works on fixing the one-way streets for the next revision of their map especially in Athens.

Route66 takes good care of 1way streets and gives much much better vocal instructions. But it's only good for within Athens. The coverage is minimal for the rest of Greece.
So, to sum up.
1. Route66 is better within Athens.
2. Garmin is the only Symbian solution for now and will do the job, especially outside Athens where Route66 coverage is minimal.
3. Destinator is still the best, but it's not available for symbian yet.
4. ADH map does need corrections!!!

gmaptool use this one.its great.open .img file (map).then select details on the bar.u will see fid and a number example 800.so 800 is the mapid.

You cannot. It's programmed into the phone's firmware.
You can however program the 'user key' on the left side (just below the USB connector) to lunch whichever application you want, like Garmin.

thnx Jeronimo!once more you are right!I will try them. honestly after 3-4 days using the application honestly I have to admit I am really disappointed. routing is really awful it keeps sending you from streets which are closed!(unless it believes that with my Africa twin I may pass through buildings!) makes unnecessary circles and does not have as well crucial routing avoidances! For example daktilio(sorry do not know the English word)or Attika road. Instead some really stupid exists! U turns, unpaved roads major-minor-medium roads etc.
Nevertheless to people like you jeronimo,aristotelis dimkt and all the others from my part at least a great thank you for the complete and detailed presentation of this application! hopefully sometime I will be in a position to assist others too:-)

just returned from a trip to Bulgaria. allthough garmin sometimes messes things up, sometimes times it can be a life saver. if i didn't have garmin i would still be in Sofia trying to make my way out of that city. My point is that it garmin mobile xt works (not perfect) as application but i think the problem is in the maps.

Jeronimo 4 sure it is only thought but....nevertheless this is what I am thinking as well. Application is not by far great (compared with some others)but we have to admit....maps don't help it as well:-( still...it is the best one for symbian so far:-)

Hello I got a problem when starting mapsource I am getting a error message saying re install FAM_821 but I don't have this installed at all.
I did a uninstall of Mapsource but when starting it again this error message again is popping up...

Have you installed the Training Centre for Windows? You need that before Mapsource works... get it from Garmin's official website.

Not totally related with the Mobile XT version but I think I might get a better answer here.

Is the procedure to get maps into a Garmin GPS device the same as with the cellphones?
The GPS comes with build in maps etc, but has SD card slot.
So, if I prepare an SD card on the PC, copy the maps into it etc will it work?
Do I just put the img file into the route folder of the SD Card?

Venduza's post here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) has the latest 3 in 1 maps in English, which dimkit has not posted on the first page. It was the only multi-map that worked on my phone without changing the phone's language to Greek. Hope it helps :)

Hi to everyone! I have a problem with my N82 nokia phone and garmin xt 4.20. When I install the 3 to 1 map (greek) the program (garmin) doesn't start at all. When, for example, I delete the map from the garmin folder, the program starts and seems to work normally. I don't know what to do to get Garmin xt to work...Any ideas? Thanks....

This has been discussed at length in this thread. It's a known issue with newer versions. Read the thread...

What seems to work for a lot of people is installing the older version (4.10.60) with which the map works, then copying and overwriting the files from the newer version, open it, close it, then install the .sis file from the new version. It's buggy like that..

Alternatively, you can install a single map, instead of a 3 in 1 version, since, unless you sail, you will not use the multi-map that much. Autodrive 1.40 seems to be enough for most people who just drive. Read the thread, experiment a bit.

I use the 3 in 1 English version, because I like my phone's menu in English, and never had any problems when upgrading. But I guess I'm lucky...

hi guys. I noticed u have some experience with Toponavigator and garmin gps. I have downloaded and instaled the Toponavigator and workd fine on my PC, but when i choose to send it to my Garmin (i have activated the option to send maps to GPS), i wait for 4-5minutes but the maps are never actually transfered (or i do not know how to find them inside my Garmin eTrex vista HCx). Can you please help me.

Your problem chryssa is that you must unlock the new maps again!the autodrive el version has a different map id from the english and that's why you get that unlock something message.unlock the maps again with the keygen using 821 for AD Hellas 1.4 and 295 for bluechart. Bye

Galaxy what you ahve to do is install the toponavigator and then under the "file" (if i remember correct) there is an option to send the map to gps. I have used the "image" files to install the TOPO so i did burn a cd and installed it from there. You will find more detailed information on how to install it in earlier discussions.
Anyway after instaling it you have yr GPS connected and then the maps in theory is supposed to be transfered. However in my case, although it says it is being transfered they are NOT, or even if they are I cannot trace them in the GPS.
Does anyone know what is going on?

I have a N95 with the Garmin Mobile XT S60v4.10.60 version with 3in1 maps in english by venduza which worked fine. I then decided to upgrade to 4.20.20 (in only need the english search) and when I run the exe at around 70% it says unable to copy the sth "about" file and it stops..any ideas???

when you say you run the exe file what do you meen?which exe file?when you want to upgrade,all you have to do is to overwrite the new folders in your memory card and then you install the new 4.20.20 sis app and that's it!hope i'm helpfull

I had some problems when I tried to overite with the new version with this exe file, so I needed to format my memory card, but after I installed the 4.20.20 (exe file) directly and added your maps and unlocked them ans so far is working now!!!!

@Sugardad your device is FP2 if i'm not wrong.It does't work with previous versions.Try 4.20.20...I think that it will work.

@Sugardad it's not a pack.It's only Autodrive 1.3 (Latin) it does't support greek characters...einai ekneuristiko.The mapid is 821.You will find the link on the first post if you search (Autodrive 1.3 En).I'll try to install only the Autodrive 1.4 and try some things.If they work i'll let you know.Someone told me that i must format my device and try on clean setup.R U CRAZY?I need a day to install and setup my apps.

and followed the Installation Instructions but the App won't start
I have deleted all the folders and tried to install just the .sis file but still I have the same results...
My device Is a N78 with the latest firmware (original not tampered In anyway..)

Yeah latest version did the trick all right but I have the same Issue with the 3in1 package plz post back which pack was working a treat before this...
I created the first .unl file with the device Id but the maps just won't work....:oops2:
from a simple check that i performed to the map here are the id's
FID 822, AUTO DRIVE (HELLAS)
FID 295, BlueChart Greece v.2008
FID 800, ANAVASI Base & Detail Map (c) AnavasiDigital

When u create the .unl file write all the codes next to each other without gaps (grapse to enan dipla ston allo xoris kena se mia grammi)...It worked with 3in1...I'll wait for your response.

@postman:I'm using Garmin 4.20.20 with 3in1 maps on a N95 8gb firm 20.0.016.It works fine.

I have just installed it on Mobile XT and works fine.
I have to report however that there are some charts missing from the Bluechart. For instance if you go to the port of Ydra you will not find the details that you are supposed to.
This is quite common to ammit some details when you select a large area with Mapsource Map tool.
Looking forward to seeing a revised version.

I just managed to install 4.20.20 to my N78. I have unlocked using the SW.unl and put inside the map AutoDriveHellas 1.30 (unlocked version)
I am inside a building right know and although I can see from settings>about>content that the map is recognised (skordilis etc) when I select "View Map" I see nothing! and in bottom right of the screen it says "no map"

Will the map show itself after I aquire gps signal or is there something wrong with my installation?

Which version have you installed? At N78 works only the 4.20.20 version or the latest 5.00.00

If you have installed one of these two versions, try to make new .unl files and run again Garmin or even better do a hard format on the phone and a format on the SD card. Then install it again from the beginning. It should work without problem.
