N81 can run games smooth bro(talking abt ngage not jar or sis) , it has a got 2 dedicated gaming keys , so its a PERFECT GAMING PHONE! :egdance:

N95 8Gb not bad at all mate.. It has dedicated games buttons also large screen...

definitely agree bro , large screen but the keys r only for music , cant play more that 10 mts using music keys , its so hard to press but this is not the case in n81 , thats y i said dedicated gaming keys , and easy and soft to press! ;)

N81 does support 3D video at 30fps, it's one of the requirements for Ngage. So clacoure your statement is wrong. [Contact Nokia if you don't believe me :)]

the video is unbelievable.. imagine Nokia n81 having 96mb RAM and Nokia n95 has 64MB RAM looks like the Nokia n95 has less lags with the 3d hardware accelerator plus it has accelerometre which is so much fun to use..

Mate, I know people who work for Nokia. I work for Proximus and I'm frequently in contact with nokia. They told me that it's still in beta, therefor not optimised for N81 yet.

3D graphics is a requirement for each Ngage phone. Each phone that supports ngage, has this inside.

The lags are a fact, but they are also produced because of other external settings.

Well in my opinion nokia should make a phone like n82 with dadicated buttons for gaming like the n81.(probably look like the k800 i mean in the way buttons are place on the top of the screen)which has hardware acceleration.and a outrageously large screen like n95 8gb.

To those who said N73 : Joystick, not a good control for hardcore gamers. I dont like playing football on my 6600 so yeah......
N81/N81 8GB : It's good but I heard about the 3D accelerator thing. I'd buy this just for N-gage games cuz like what evil_night said, it has the gaming buttons/was designed partially for playing games easily(that's what Nokia used as sales of N81)
N82 : I have it and I gotta say I enjoyed playing games with it BUT BUT it's definitely not the best choice since the d-pad is chunky IMO. Not rly good for controlling sports games. I dont always play N-gage games on my N82 because of the battery. It drops after playing games for mine(PLS SOMEONE VERIFY FOR ME!)
N95 : Wide screen, side control good control d-pad. Another good choice.


All in all, I'd say go for the N81 but if you want more specs with good cam etc etc, go with N82, if u like slider and wider screen go for N95

i currently have n73 so it is 8th wonder for me.

Coz my n73 allways says "out of memory", lacks of accelometer, no play/pause button, only 2gb minisd cards, etc.

Well, the N96 is not so much of a N95 we might think, it lacks 3D acceleration. Thats right, surprising but true! That means we can forget the Ngage experience on a higher plane. But since Ngage games are suppossed to be compatible with the N73 as well, they wont’t need such hardware support anyway. The TV out is still the same as N95, the VGA resolution continues to be reserved for the Gallery only.

WOW 6 pages and not a single word about precious N93?! I have one, I try the others too and I think that N93 is the best one because:

+ It is designed to be next N-GAGE, but Nokia changed their mind and now N81 is claimed to be next N-GAGE.
+ Perfect form factor - same as GBA SP.
+ D-Pad is one of the best (N-GAGE Classic have the best one).
+ Number keys are superb - big enough and in same time close enough to each other.
+ The most powerful device to date - in SPMark achieve 9500+.
+ TV Out.
- No SDHC support.
- No accelerometer.

There will be hardware accelerated games for N-GAGE, and you can't run these games on N81.

This is MINE opinion, so I don't engage anyone to it!

These new generation games, only Creatures of Deep is great :(!!! (Sapce Impac and System Rush is more less), othes are sucks for N-Gage games!!!

No m8 3D accelerator is not vital for ngage, games can be played without any lags , i have said this in the 1st page! ;)

in n95 or n95 8gb sliding down makes change in normal ui which u have change when go finish playing...
funny thing is sometimes you may press the most upper or most down key
which results in music player, that really hurts a lot.....

Best N-Gage 2.0 platform(PHONE) for me is phone with the largest screen size and a improved hardware with ARM11 332MHz processor and 3D accelerator added.;):);) This can be only Nokia N95.8GB or N95 standard for now, but this "standard" model has less RAM than he need for good functionality. Nokia N96 is not yet rated but i doubt that phone can be the best because Nokia N96 don't have 3D accelerator built in and also this phone has new Samsung 334MHz processor that can be problem with games compatibility beside new FP2 that can be the also problem ...

Nokia N95 8GB is absolute champion here and pool result talking the same!

I will have to agree with jarbamare, the processor can be a bit of a problem with the games and the screen is by far the largest... Plus to that, the tv-out is also a big advantage...

I am using N81 and I have also tried N-95. N-95 is no doubt a superior but N81 is just tailor made for n-gage gaming. Its game pad design is just awesome and dedicated gaming keys adds to a holistic experience. Once the games are optimized for N81 lack of 3D accelerator will not withstand.

I just hope the screen was bigger than this...

If we consider a thing like buttons on the phone THAN we can back to the god old Nokia Ngage QD and enjoy in "buttons".
Beside this, we also can enjoy in better game graphich on Nokia Ngage QD S60v1 phone than on this new S60v3 Ngage phones.
Asphalt 3D and Asphalt 2 3D are still looking and sounding better than brand new Asphalt 3 Street Rules, also other S60v1 games are looking better ....
Only better screen sizes and resolutions are advanced on this new "ngage" phones at most, not the games!:nod:

I have both N81 and N95. And playing N-Gage games in landscape mode with musical buttons is a real pain. These two keys in N81 are soft and easy to press much unlike N95

And I do enjoy playing it on N81 despite superior performance of N95

Mate, to be honest --- neither of this S60v3 phones is not nearly to the some form of decent gaming device ... but ... we must accept this N-gage platform like a "second" feature ... this is at the end yet PHONE.
MAIN feature is conversation and eventual SMS!

n81 8gb is best for many reason mainly i got it :P

N95 8GB is better.

N81 uses a single core TI chip, which lacks 3D Acceleration.
N95/N95 8GB/N82 however, runs off a Dual Core TI chip, with Intergrated 3D Acceleration.

Also, N95 8GB has 128MB of RAM. That's more than N81 and other phones, except for N82.

But, N95 8GB has the largest screen, boasting 2.8 inches.

Also, N81 runs more demanding games with lag, or even crashing. N95, on the other hand, doesn't. Just youtube some videos of N81 playing System Rush : Evolution and N95 playing the same game. Observe the difference in quality.

Real reason is that it has alot of free RAM for those resource hogging games and applications. With 90 mb of RAM, you can do almost anything on this device.

Who the heck would pick N95 (which I have) over the bigger screen and more recognisable buttons (they have bumps on them) of an N95 8GB?

I can't comment on the other phones, not having experience of them. I'd like to think that the 3D accelerator in the N95/8GB is a plus point, but other than System Rush (I think?), I'm not sure if any games will take advantage of it as there doesn't seem to be one in any of the upcoming phones that I can see.

When accelerated games start coming out on iPhone, the non-3D accelerated games on N-Gage 2 are going to look pretty poor. Sad, but true :(

N81 is best for N-Gage gaming, because they make this model for the N-Gage requirements, but lack of features like 2.4" tiny screen. On other hand for N95 8GB big 2.8" screen. Both models are best but the final decision is your off course.

n95 8gb ... 80 mb of ram ... is kind of outmanuveration...

For me n95 8GB.
large screen, good ram, landscape/portrait mode.... and the acelerator is very fun to use!
music keys work in game and are easy to press and play with them.

i have one n95 8gb, and tryed to play some games in n81 and n73 and it just wasn't as good as in my phone...

n95 8 gigabyte is the correct choice... simply for the fact that i've played ngage games on both n95 and n81, and do you know what had me really playin ?
n95... n81 has 2 dedicated buttons and all that... but the screen's smaller... its heavier than the n95, more sweat... and the d pad is pretty much, very shitty.... so, all im sayin is, to me, N95 is the best choice

Obviously n81 is best for gaming because it was designed for that but it's such low spec with the hardware on it i just would'nt want to own one but with magickey letting you use n95 media keys for games it almost equals n81 for games and just thrashes it with everything else

N95 is Good to to in terms of playing games mate as it also have the 3d-chip and the multimedia sliding can also be used to play games.

I have an N81 and it performs very well with N-gage games. However, I would say that the best is the N96 because it trumps pretty much every other N-series Device in technical specifications. A downside to the N96 and N95 8gb are that the screen has got larger, but the amount of pixels has not correlated. Meaning, the screens are 320x240 and 2.8inch. This makes the pixels larger, making them easier to see. The N81 has 320x240 pixels and a 2.4inch screen, making the pixels smaller and making games,videos etc Sharper. Size wise, I think that the smaller (but quite thick phones) are better. e.g. N73, N81. This is because I can hold them more comfortably. It is a shame that Nokia havent utilised the power of the N81 (it can do much more than it is currently 'limited' to), which would put the N95/N96 as the pinnacle of the N-gage Devices.

Guyz, N85 is the best of all. Its the ultimate gaming/music/net machine. Its OLED screen is stunning in case of gaming and video. But the only disadvantage is that it doesnt have the 3D chip. It has dedicated gaming/music buttons which adds to its beauty. And with 30fps it runs games and videos best.:)

2) n95- forget it! the phones battery cannot last long on its own functions forget playing games on it !!
3) n95 8gb- samething as n82
4) n81- good for gaming! finished two games on it already :D and i dont find any lag on it. just one thing, after finishing "one" , the buttons colour started to come out :( so not happy with the built quality

Can you config/use qwerty with Ngage app? If so, that would be the ultimate control rather than anything else.

may i suggest u with N93...my platform 4 N-gage gaming is N93....
Handy enough,while playing n-gage 2.0 games in landscape mode...
one disadavantages is that the RAM capacity is low,but i use KillMe application so that RAM won't be a problem again...
N93 has enough processor to play N-gage 2.0 games and it has 3D chip...wow,amazing...

At the end..the main problem 4 NOKIA phone is the battery....
I always play with my N93 charged....hehehehehe..

I hav N81 8GB & i think its great, but :holdit: N95 8GB has a larger screen and comfortable D-Pad as well as the capability of using the multimedia keys as Gaming buttons! I also recommend it as it has a very high RAM with 3D accelerator!

You will not be able to run the newest games and in few months there will be new SIS and N-Gage games only for OpenGL Nokias. You will need 128 MB RAM and 3D Accelerator.

I asked few Nokia developers at the Meeting in Congress Centrum Hamburg, and they told me that with N95 8GB I will be on the first position even in 2012.

My uncle works in Nokia Service Center (Hamburg, Germany).

He told me that Nokia 5800 and N97 doesn't have 3D accelerator too.
So we have stupid new Phones like N85, N96, N97 and 5800. Some of them with 16GB and 32GB, but nobody needs so much place in the Phone!

my opinion will be quite different - n93, because it has the best solution to play in open mode (landscape, and the keboard is beneath) plus it has the 3d acceleration, but small amount of RAM, though.

N95 8GB has no opponents! N95 8GB is the beeessttttt

N81 8Gb is way better than N95 8GB bcoz of it's gaming keys. But don't forget the gaming key part is so soft that it gets easily broken(thats what happened in my case). So, if there wasn't this prob N81 would be the best. Since N96 is physically similar to N81 8GB with the gaming key part fixed with hard plate, now N96 is the is the best of all n-gage compatible phones.

n81 << the cheapest and the coolest buttons are there..
although no accelerometer still the best platform is for n81..

But since i only have an normal n93 (a phone that i love) i defend this phone.

It has 3d hardware acelerator, excelent gamming keys(really, playing gba on the n93 its just wonderful) and its confortable to have in hands in landscape mode.
