I've just done something about the file hacking about the route66 mobile v8.0. But my map expiration date has 10 days left. Anyone uses N95 and have expired map for test my hacking. Pls don't forget tell me the result.

Steps
1. download zip file and unzip the PlatformWCE.dll onto your PC.
2. backup the file \System\Apps\ROUTE66_v8\Route66\PlatformWCE.dll on your mmc.
3. copy the PlatformWCE.dll file into the mmc folder \System\Apps\ROUTE66_v8\Route66 and overwrite the original one.
4. try to launch your r66 mobile v8 and check the map is ok or not?
5. if after times tries still not ok or can not launch your application, pls restore the backup file to the right location.

Notice this is only for technical study nothing with license or other issues. Pls do every step and understand what you are doing. Thanks in advance.

that file isn't on my one. there isn't even a \System\Apps\ROUTE66_v8\Route66 folder, it goes up to \System\Apps\ROUTE66_v8 and that's it.

nope, same again sorry, the ROUTE66_v8 folder seemingly does not have a Route66 subfolder anywhere.

Just search for PlatformWCE.dll in your memory card. And replace it with file supplied by damcool.

it must be there. Did you connect your phone via data transfer mode? Have you enabled to view hidden files and folders on your PC?


Tried dll on my N95, doesn't work.

You must use DATA TRANSFER mode indeed. And that dll is there for sure. ;)

Is this also possible for the 6110? I can't find such a file.

You must activate 14 days trial first. That worked for me.

one thing for those that are still on trial. DO nOT go to extras and switch the maps. they will come back as ! beside them and after sync it will become locked. you also cant try for free again cause it will come back as error:service has been tried allready.

maybe even if this dll works, its for unlimited trial, but if you sync you loose it all.
now my days trial remaining is gone, guess will have to wait for crack now.

Did you go into Settings>Maps and chose the Nordic map?

so the only thing we have to do is download the official trial from the website
and make the files you mentioned read only?and we can use it forever !?

Yep, have chosen Nordics Maps, but it dont work. Cant zoom ind, and cant use it.. When i choose Nordics Maps, og go out of the menu, it just goes back to World map again...

It also says something about "Street Not digitialised".. Cant search for streets or anything.. Its just like it lockes up..

When i go into extras, and see the two maps "World Map" nd "Nordics map", nordics map is yellow.. If i choose to open it, it says there is some error.. Cant open map...

OKe i just installed route66 on to my n95-8gb, activated the trial. Everytings working oke.

I can't seem to find navkeys.dat it's not on the 8gb memory where i installed route 66, dont know how to het to c:\systeem on the phone memory.

On your phone go to "Purchase" and it will give you a 15 days trial option.

What if you have been given 15 days trial, and it has expired.. Have tryed to delete the map, and install it again.. But you can select trial again...

Once your 15 days is up you cannot get another trial. To activate the 15 day trials you need to connect to their server via GPRS and they have your IMEI #.

Ok, did the trick with the read-only files. In about 55 minutes i know if it worked :D

Edit: Seems to work. But maybe there are 24 hours of the trial period left. To be sure i'll test it tomorrow again.

We are not 100% sure yet. It's not clear how R66 de-activated the trial when it's expired. To some user the trial still works even when the expire date is passed and without making the files read-only. To some others the trial is expired.
So far we have no report of an expired trial using this trick.

I finally can confirm, that the read-only-solution works!

Edit: I experienced some lags during navigation, but can not tell if it is due to the "crack" or because of the poor performance of the N91 (CPU, hard-drive). I'll stick with Mobile 7.

Also at my N82 the read-only solution work. My trial peroid has expired yesterday, but I had a backup of navkeys.dat - put it back to phone, changed to read-only and map is unlocked again!

Xplore after special configurating shows all files (some of them are hidden).
Just check "Show hidden files" option in XPLORE.

It doesn't work like this. If you do as you describe your trial will be deactivated and/or you can't update
Male FIRST a copy of navkey.dat WITHOUT any additional subscriptions, Save it (and the other files mentioned] in a safe place. Then activate the additional services and save a further copy of navkey.dat. (and other files)
Only when you want to update the services use this second set of files.
After the update put it back the fist set of files (read only).
Do like this anytime you want to update

Maybe the navkeys.dat does not depends on IMEI? I have a test license for Alps map - maybe someone has another test license and we can exchange navkeys.dat for testing IMEI-depending?

Navkeys.dat is specific to your IMEI#, that's why you had to connect to their server to activate the trail.

yes the imei is registered to server to stop you reactivating trial but that doesnt mean that the trial code is calculated based on imei. so unless you tried it cause you have 2 n95's and can test yourself, post the freakin file or let others do it.

also not true from post from previous page that you have to activate one feature than backup the navkeys.dat file each time, each feature. you can enable everything then make read only the navkeys with every feature enabled. one trial per feature one map and one color (bmw for example) etc except those that are free, you can activate all of those if you feel like it.

2, install the 'Route 66 Mobile 8.0.11540.sis' from the route 66 v8 folder
3, goto your memory card and select the folder called \system\apps\route 66_v8\data folder
4, open both imei.dat and phone.dat using notepad and edit the first lines of both files
5, input a 0 then your imei # and save both files
6, Copy your map files to the folder called \system\apps\route66_v8\data\maps
7, run your route 66 v8 from your phone

Once Route66 V8 is up and running, push Options>Extras>Maps>Options>Purchase>Free trail
you will get 15 days free trail, use file manager and go into
c:\system\apps\route66_v8\data\res\navkeys.dat
make navkeys.dat a READ ONLY file.

Your map will still work after trail is over.

Phone.dat and Imei.dat is located in

E:System\Apps\Route66_V8\Data

Once you have change those two with your IMEI# it will work.

You need to enable all hidden folder on PC

... but I can't find the navkeys.dat ...

There is no trail sis, everything is full version. Before you could activate a 15 days free trail and make the navkeys.dat read only to bypass the 15 days. Now you cannot get the trail anymore.

Any crack guys as trial is not available now.....so unfortunate, the day I installed R66 V8 same day they discontinued trail:(

3 days late... Why shouldn't I installed the Route66 on monday like I planned...

Anything about that old method of using the trial and changing the read permissions of route66 files to use it indefinetly? I mean, a solution for those like me that couldn't arrive before they take out the trial option.

There's no point in downloading maps right now. They have stop the free trail. The only way to make it work is to get the free trail, make the navkeys.dat a read only file. Since you cannot get a free trail you will not have a navkeys.dat file on your phone to do the trick. Just wait till a patch, cr4ck or keygen is out if it does.

My trial expired 10/03/08. Made the files read-only in advance. Map still working today, even if the expiration date of the map still states it was on the 10th march.

its a good starting point i think, because every is accepted on my n95, bout if i click on gprs there is a error (permanent error vc is wrong) i think this is the right algo, but with the wrong keys

Codes are accepted and when i go further it asks to connect to route66 via internet or sms. It gives error "VC code wrong" but it looks like we're on the right track. Or not....

Same here some codes are accepted but then VC code Wrong... Iberian map...

By the way, I saw that Iberian Map is allready activated how can this be, I downloaded it last week and asks me for a code... can't activate...

New update for route 66 v8 (Version 8.0.13369) Download it now while limited free trail is still available. Install into your mobile for free, no need to sign application! Also it allow u to have 14 days FREE trail! No info when they will discontinue this free trail for this new version.

download app then :

1. Install a fresh new r66 v8 to phone by data tranfer mode. Remember to remove any old version first. (step 1a) This also mean delete c:\system\app\route66_v8 folder and e:\system\app\route66_v8. ***Warning!*** keep a backup if u need to restore later if doesn't work n keep all maps in your PC.
2. Use X-plore or any manager browser on your mobile and create maps folder in e:\system\app\route66_V8\data\maps and copy your maps to this folder.
3. Run app select extra->maps->*your map* (pls note only 1 map can be active for 14 days trail) so choose wisely. This will be your permanent map! select buy license enable connection by WLAN on N95 8gb maps should be unlock with a timer icon next to it. Adjust/configure app to your liking and exit program when done modification.
4. File imie.dat, phone.dat (hidden files) with your imie no. include in 1st line if you edit these two files, and inbox.dat will be created in (mmc) e:\system\app\route66_v8\data
5. make all these files read-only mode! Good luck!!!!

Beaware can not find file navkeys.dat either hidden or not created for this new version, maybe r66 v8 has reprogram the app to expired exactly 14 day free trail with this version even with old tricks. but if you have the navkeys.dat file copy it to c:\system\app\route66_V8\data and make it read-only. Hope it will work for u guys!! I don't have 1 so if u DO please uploaded for everyone else to test including myself thank u. so a crack can be done a.s.a.p for all maps!

I'm still on 2nd day trail..using map australia. (maps can be download at their website but are locked use free trail to unlock 1 map only)

if error occur..remove app in or in app folder on n95 do step 1a. once done.
reinstall app from MMC file Mobile8_S60_3_0_v8.0.13369.SIS when completed repeat step 2-5. good luck!!
