Has anyone seen a hack/keygen for the FM Total Traffic Network (Clear Channel) subscription on Garmin Nuvi units?

It appears that the activation code is 25 characters. That makes me think that it uses the same algorithm as the maps. I have the JetMouse Keygen v1.3. If I could find the "map ID" for the traffic stuff then maybe it would work.

Anyone have any ideas or seen anything on this subject?

Hi bessel1 - yep , it looks like it uses the same algo...that's good news. My question though is how did you determine that 28952 is the mapid for the traffic subscription? And is this mapid for a US or Europe sub?

i use garmin.exe with the key 25digit
there is one error mapid is 28992, but i dont have the keygen
for the mapid 28992
i search the compatible keygen or the algorithm

I just bought a key from Garmin and can confirm that 28992 is the U.S. FID.

I have a C550 and I can not get it to work with the code.

Posting your unit ID publically is a bad idea. You are a sitting duck if you ever register that # with them.

Thx ezname. When I enter "469" as the mapid to create a subscription that expires December 28 2009, the nuvi accepts the code, but in the traffic provider subscription screen it only says "New Subscription".

The instructions in the txt file are a bit fuzzy... is the algo for expire date unknown, or does the excel sheet generate "close enough" numbers to use as the mapid? =)

Based on what I have read FID 28952 appears to be for Canadian traffic subscriptions. I have a Nuvi 350 and updated it to 5.5 software. Using the keygen I would input the FID and my unit id, then where do I go from there? Thanks!

summiter, I think I have same issue as you, my original subscription expire on july 30, 2008. I used modified keygen, and use mapID 0 (supposely lifetime subsciption). Garmin accepts it, displaying "Lifetime subsription" and than in about 1 minute resets it back to july 30. May be I have to use real date (number of weeks like you) or may be Garmin have some kind check against non purchased codes. I'm puzzled. In summiter and my case we simply don't see any subscription listed anymore (even though I had one valid until 9/18/2008 before playing with this). All we see is a "New Subscription" message and the usual ADD button at the bottom.

Yep, you and I have the same situation, and likely the same cause. My device trial subscription was set to expire in about 30 days and I could see the trial entry. I started entering various codes generated using different mapid's (to see if different expire dates would be indicated on the nuvi) - and at some point I was left with just "New Subscription" in the traffic subscription screen. If I enter more codes with mapid 0 or other allegedly valud values, I get a Canadian TTN subscription that expires many years out and which does not stick after a power cycle. The "New Subscription" item does survive a power cycle, but I don't know if it's valid in any way.

The device does appear to be using traffic data normally, but I don't know if it's TTN traffic data or the free data broadcast on some stations.

What I really wish I could do is find out how to compeltely blow away or modify the nonvolitile area where some of this information is stored.

Hello summiter, well a similar thought crossed my mind. It could be as simple as removing the battery (how?) or modifying a file since maybe the traffic subscription data is written on an invisible/hidden file.
Another thought I had was that maybe by chance our lifetime subscription is actually working but since it's lifetime the nuvi doesn't bother displaying it and rather only displays subscription that do expire. That's a long shot but hey I'm hoping that's the case.

When does your trial subscription end? Mine is 9/18/08. Seems like we just have to wait and see past expiration.

I wish the developer of the keygen could help clarify things. No clue how to contact him/her.

Has anyone got this to work with the Canadian TMC. I tried without any luck. Maybe I'm doing something wrong!

would you help me out with that, and 1-2-3 steps,pls?
