gigabyte boards were the first to introduce dual BIOS on their boards.

@threadstarter,

you want it to support dual-core BUT run pci video cards? maybe you meant pci-e?

i myself am an ABIT board fan. my old pc housing my 2.8G no HT intel is still alive using ABIT board for 8 years now. ASUS is comparable to ABIT and a lot of other boards. MSI is not bad too... even Gigabyte isn't that bad. but if you can afford to get an ASUS or ABIT, go for it.

the performance of your cpu and video card is totally dependent on the board where it sits on, and vice versa.

I used both of them a lot.
I had chipset failure issues with both of them.

For the last 4 years I am using a Gigabyte without problems.

In my opinion get the one with the best value/money ratio and get it from a store that will honour the manufacturer's guarantee (2 or 3 years I think).

Consider that if you will need your mobo replaced because of an issue covered by the guarantee and the technology has left your cpu socket behind and there is no stock available of your old kind of socket, ask the seller if in this case will credit the value of your motherboard to your name, so that you can buy a new one.

both good, just get the board with the features you want
