Copy all folders to your root in your memory card e drive. Copy whatever map you have to the MAPS directory. INstall McGuider_s60.sis file (overide old copy). Thats all you need to do works fine on N95 8g, correct orientation. Also map sure that you have copied all directories correctly and that you havn't created sub-folders. goodluck

I installed and the old route calculation bug reapeared (tried to calculate a 30 km route from center Bucharest to Snagov/Ghermanesti and phone freezes). It's annoyng as this bug was solved in 7.30319. Also initial sattelites aquisition seems much slower. Do they have 2 line of developers?
I really hope they will have a good final product, as a competition to garmin.

Yes I too was having the same problem, in that it seemed to take abnormally long time for it to get fix on GPS satellites, but once I went out into the outdoors it found a fix in seconds and has been fine after that.

so far very happy with the updates and will strongly consider purchasing this application above others i.e. Garmin and Route 66, both of which I have on my N95 and although they function perfectly fine I just prefer the look and feel of Sygic (can'y get used to name change, McGuider! sounds like a McDonald's reject :hahaha:)and the maps as far as I have found so far, have been OK with a few minor omissions, but nothing to make me get lost and also fact Ireland is lagging behind in digital mapping, so can't blame Sygic on that.

This version does not have the screen rotation option, so i have to use RotateMe, but I use this anyway.

One gripe, as I feel I should be honest, on starting, it gives a message that my device has less than 10MB free memory, this I know and could quiet happily do without being told, so no biggie.

Anyway look forward to more updates of this excellent app.

First i let the app to choose automatically the gps and yes, i had this problem, but after that i made the setting manually and choosing A-GPS changed everything, now in the car it connects in just a few seconds.

You have to set the hardware port com A-GPS. Don't let the application to choose automatically the gps.

I use it on hp rx4240 with BT GPS. Work perfect with map I just dl from allview.ro demo section (symbian demo) Same program works on my nokia cause McGuider is allinone.

u can download brazil map from my folder.this map should work on mcgaider sygic.generally all already released maps (map in folder format g2 etc) should work with all sygic versions.the so called ''new'' maps are just in pak format.all of them work anyway.if i am wrong please somebody tell me

I thought that this new version will solve the "kern-exec 3" error but apparently not! From my point of view this application is useless if is crashing again and again after max. 5 min. of navigation!

have you got java apps installed on your phone as that is the only time that i have seen the kern-exec 3 error and i havent in over a year that i have stopped using java applications. Is anyone else getting this error and also can you search by postcode in this application?

I get frequent kern-exec.3 on N80. I don't remember having installed any Java app (had on game but removed it as the resolution did not match).
Problem with kern-exec. might be map related as I got it 3 times in the same location.

kern-exec comin if you have wrong poi icons

look up for the icons. they must have: rezolution - 92-95 dpi, width/height 20/20 pixels, and VERY IMPORTANT - bit depth 8 (not 16 or 32) ! Change the icons and will work.

I just tested for about 1200 km, and having the right icons still had 4 "kern.exe" , but in 17 hours of navigation i honestly can say that it's not a big deal, even Garmin reset sometimes and i have to do the settings all over again, it's worst than just restart the app. For now, i use McGuider and i keep Garmin for backup.

Just remove the old license file an create new one.Then this problem will be history.

I got Sygic McGuider (PDA Verson), I try to use Sygic Colors, but i Can not see or import the Icons and BMP Files,... only Colors & fonts & Road Colors....

Sorry To be a pain but Ive been reading through so many threads about this software and am getting conflicting answers.

So my questions are and hope this helps others in my position.

1. As of today the 18th of april. Which is the very latest version of this software for s60 v3.

ok, now it works. there is something wrong with your upi pack. i had to convert my pois on my own and use that version of ov2upi [Only registered and activated users can see links]

look up for the icons. they must have: rezolution - 92-95 dpi, width/height 20/20 pixels, and VERY IMPORTANT - bit depth 8 (not 16 or 32) ! Change the icons and will work.

I removed all the upi-s and bmp-s and it still kern-execs in the same place (Aerogarii Bvd. in Bucharest).

About the KERN-EXEC 3 problem. I experienced that too. Removed poi's and bmp's and license. Renewed everything, problem continued.
But i have 2 recent 2008 Q1 maps, USA and Netherlands and 2 old maps Belgium and Luxemburg.
I removed the 2 old maps and now the problem is gone, so far no KERN-EXEC 3 crashes on my N95 with McGuider.
Now i just have to find the recent maps for BEL and LUX ...

i have copy all the files from Sygic7.50319_S60.rar to 8gb on the nokia n95 8gb and nothing happend it just take upp space. how can i get this program to work?

But You make RS points from them. Remove the bad files form Your RS account.

it takes me hours to upload.imagine how much would i need to try them too.u can download or not if you want . you wont spend so much to remove upis if dont work.if you want try find them and download.thats the point of uploading in one place.and rapidshare points are just for support because i may burn my laptop due to hours needed to upload all these gigas of files.and you can always download as premium.people who want to support my effort download as free user.whatever i wont occupy with such posts.

Yeah, you're right, i do it every day, hoping for a new map in one pack format for Roumania and like you said, a new release.

have u tried to compress [rou] from symbian_RO? Yes I know is very buggy :P
I actualy installed win_mobile from allview site, but is an old map, older than that for symbian. It's PROMO on allview site now: 99 RON (~30 euro) for sygic_ro vers 7.089 :afraid:

I dont know if its got to with the settings but i was in london and was making my way up north it started giving me routes for A roads where as route 66 gave me route for motorway. Strange!!!!!

well pycmuk80, that was the latest beta version. Also up for now its the latest available.
But still a beta version. The final-retail version (we dont know the exact software version yet), is ready to buy on that site, but is not floating around.

Would anyone know how to make Sygic to run as portrait (i.e. phone in vertical position) by default. If I tried changing the orientation of the phone using Nokia's ASR (Auto Screen Rotation) - Sygic changed to portrait but bottom 1/4 screen is blank and cannot see past this point.

Please help - otherwise it is an excellent application so far.

What I am doing at present is prior to launching Sygic - I turn my N85 8GB to landscape display then launch Sygic. When Sygic is loaded - to my surprise the application opened in portrait (i.e. phone in vertical position) - I then put the N95 into my its craddle.

If I do not turn my phone to landscape position prior to launching Sygic - Sygic will open in the reverse landscape mode and if the phone is moved into portrait position then you can only see 3/4 of the screen with bottom 1/4 black and can not see pass this point (as previously reported).

I had adress search problem as some other people had.I used to think that it was because of a bug in the application. I got another map now I don't have adress search problems anymore. Anyone who has the same problem , I recommend to find a really working map.

Dude, I'm running McGuider 7.50.514, which is still beta and according to your reasoning, released on May 14. And program is still not perfect.
